Throwing the burning dry cow dung into the herd was like pouring a scoop of water into hot oil.

The wild yaks exploded in chaos instantly.

The burning smoke and flames stimulated the yaks’ sense of smell and perception.

The fear of the fire instantly overtook their desire for the aromatic fruits.

In a panic, they turned and fled toward the distance.

But just as they were escaping, an unfortunate one appeared!

One wild yak stepped squarely onto a trap in its turn!

Its body tilted, and its massive figure lurched toward the ground.

The wild yak let out a wretched scream.

Chen Wen turned his head at the sound, his expression filling with joy!

This wild yak had precisely stepped into his trap, toppling as Chen Wen had anticipated.

The colossal body hit the ground, with its enormous weight pressed onto the joints of the wild yak.

Although a yak’s joints aren’t fragile, under such pressure even a joint made of pure iron couldn’t hold up!

Accompanied by bone-rattling sounds that seemed to echo phantom pain, the unlucky wild yak’s joint took a serious deformation!

Chen Wen observed its joint nearly bending to ninety degrees, making fracture inevitable!

The surrounding yaks sensed danger, hastening their steps in retreat.

After enduring a painful period, the unfortunate yak managed to stagger out of the pit.

It attempted to flee.

But Chen Wen, lying in ambush, wouldn’t give it the chance!

Chen Wen took out his homemade Meteor Hammer!

Gripping a rock, he gave it a slight swing to gain more initial speed, then decisively hurled the Meteor Hammer!

Two rocks tethered by a rope drew toward each other, spinning in the air, aimed at the yak’s hind leg as they flew.

Before the yak could understand what was happening.

The rope wound itself like a serpent around one of the yak’s legs, while the stones continued forward, spinning around the leg and securing the rope tightly.

With the weight of the rocks, the yak’s left hind leg staggered, causing it to fall again.

This time, it was tripped!

No escape this time!

Chen Wen was overjoyed.

He quickly pulled the sheep hide from his body, exposing himself to the air.

Just when Chen Wen thought he could easily kill the yak.

In the distance!

The escaping yak herd glanced back over here.

Seeing their attacker was merely an unimposing two-legged creature, the yaks paused.

They suddenly regained their conviction.

And so, with a series of low, rumbling calls.

Chen Wen was somewhat bewildered as he watched the yaks, who had retreated to a distance, now turning back and charging toward him.

His brows furrowed fiercely.

Watching the wild yaks with their raised tails and bristling hair, it was impossible for anyone not to fear them!

However, Chen Wen stood his ground.

He wasn’t intimidated by the yaks but instead slowly raised his long spear, a determined glint in his eyes.

...

”It’s over, it’s over!”

Bernard’s tense voice rang out.

The scene brought back some PTSD for him.

Years ago, during a mountain extreme challenge, he misjudged the behavior of a herd of yaks.

Got encircled and attacked by them.

If not for a quick-witted leap into a lake for safety, he would likely have met Washington that time.

Upon hearing Bernard’s voice, Liu Yu and Qu Yong couldn’t help sitting up straight tensely.

They were closely watching Chen Wen on the screen, trying to determine how he would handle the returning herd.

Soon, Chen Wen offered his response.

As the yak herd was about to reach him, he took a deep breath, the air rolling in his throat.

Accompanied by the vibration of his vocal cords.

Chen Wen roared: ”Woah! Woah!”

[Bark Intimidation]!

This entry drew from the Tibetan Mastiff.

Frequently, some people’s fear of dogs comes from their barking.

This isn’t due to cowardice or timidity.

But a genetic residue from long-term evolution.

In humanity’s prolonged evolutionary history, canines were significant predators and rivals.

Their sounds, especially barking and howling, often signified danger!

Indicating predators had found humans, or there was competition for resources, territory.

Thus, such expressions were preserved in human genes.

This is why the sounds of canines easily trigger human fear!

Beside humans, other animals also carry similar genetic responses.

The ancestors of Tibetan Mastiffs originated from wild dogs and wolves in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau 8000-10000 years ago.

These ancestors shared the plateau for generations with the ancestors of wild yaks.

Their barking invokes fear in yaks as well!

Moreover, this intimidation manifested from Chen Wen’s own demeanor, greatly amplifying the yaks’ fear!

Upon hearing Chen Wen’s voice, their steps seemed to slip on butter, suddenly skidding.

The herd looked as if suddenly struck by fear, not turning back as they fled into the distance.

Chen Wen observed this scene, couldn’t help but glance at the [Bark Intimidation] entry - ”More easily fleeing without turning back.”

They truly fled without looking back!

Chen Wen muttered a sigh, then turned his gaze to the abandoned yak.

This yak had already collapsed on the ground, completely unable to stand.

Walking over to its side.

It was still emitting low cries of anguish.

Chen Wen noticed the yak’s two left legs were essentially ruined.

He shook his head, took up his long spear, aimed it at the heart of the yak.

Shht!

The spear accurately pierced the yak’s body, hitting its internal organs.

The yak’s body trembled a few times, its life force draining as swiftly as snow doused with boiling water.

”Whew!”

Chen Wen breathed out, a glimmer of thrill in his eyes.

His three-step strategy succeeded spectacularly!

Approach the yak, strike with thunderous force, kill the yak, and leave when successful, retreat unscathed.

Perfect completion!

Moreover, no need to flee upon success, as the [Bark Intimidation] effect frightened away the yak herd instead.

Heh, time to prosper!

Gazing at the fallen yak, Chen Wen’s mouth involuntarily curled upward.

Though his joy was brief; he then faced a new problem – this yak’s body needed perfect disposal.

Only that way could the act of hunting the yak turn into an advantage.

As for how to handle the yak, Chen Wen had some ideas at this point.

He surveyed his surroundings, confirmed no predators were nearby, and promptly dashed back to the camp.

...

Back at camp.

The Golden Eagle and the Snow Leopard saw Chen Wen returning.

Snow Leopard had regained vigor today, insisting on joining the Golden Eagle in a hunt for pikas.

The Golden Eagle asked calmly, ”What happened?”

Chen Wen nodded, ”The yak hunt I mentioned yesterday, succeeded!”

Upon hearing this, Golden Eagle’s eyes sparkled.

It immediately asked, ”Where? Is it big? How come I didn’t see it?”

”Hold on, this one’s hard to handle, I’m back because I need you guys’ help.”

Chen Wen spoke, glanced around the camp’s resources.

He grabbed a rope, quickly leading Golden Eagle and Snow Leopard away from the camp.

Dealing with this yak required their assistance.
