Wilderness Survival with Druid System

While Chen Wen was settling down Xiong Ma and preparing to cook marmot back at camp.

Qiangtang Plateau, a place rarely visited by people.

Someone looked at their phone, to be exact, at the animals on the phone screen, and couldn’t help but swallow.

”Old Dog, did you see it clearly? Three little snow leopard cubs!”

The man with a scar on his forehead pulled a grin and said to the person in the shadow.

”Scar, don’t forget what our goal is.”

The one called Old Dog couldn’t help but frown, ”We need to be cautious; only by keeping quiet can we make big profits!”

”I know, I know, but there’s three cubs!”

Scar reached out and scratched his back, ”The organization mentioned in the purchasing price, a snow leopard skin is three thousand US Dollars per foot! One live snow leopard is one hundred thousand US Dollars! Live snow leopard cubs are double!”

Scar said, rubbing the dirt he picked off his body into a ball and flicking it to the far ground, ”If we get a snow leopard cub, we won’t have to stay in this damned place! We could go live it up for at least several months!”

Old Dog hesitated upon hearing this.

He was tempted but also a bit scared.

”I heard from Barbarians, that the organization seemingly suffered losses on this person, they blocked him twice in Australia, but after blocking him, they just disappeared completely!”

Old Dog paused for a moment, repeating, ”Disappeared! No idea whether they lived or died, just vanished like that, eight people! Scar, we...”

”Hey, they were just less skilled!”

Scar laughed toothily, ”On this plateau, not just this Chen Wen, even the most badass person has to lay low if I’m keeping an eye on them! I’ve lived most of my life in what you call this damned place, I can bring down a Bear with my bare fists! What’s a punk kid compared to that!”

Listening to this, Old Dog became even more tempted.

He thought for a moment, then said, ”Why not ask Barbarians? He’s got a good head...”

”Ask him for what the hell!”

Scar raised his hand, using the yak leather glove to knock Old Dog on the shoulder, ”Barbarians just sticks to one strategy, be careful, don’t expose, make money quietly, and don’t forget to send a share to the reserve... What the hell does he know!”

”Don’t tell him about this, three leopard cubs, we split it evenly, sixty thousand US Dollars, thirty thousand for you, thirty thousand for me. Don’t let Barbarians know! The underlings don’t know anything anyway, just give each a thousand dollars when the time comes.”

Thirty thousand US Dollars!

Old Dog’s eyes nearly turned green upon hearing this.

He joined the business late, and by the time he started poaching, the most prosperous times had already passed.

Since then he’s been making hard-earned money, working for months busily, selling goods once, and after proper handling, there’s just enough left to live it up in the city for about a month.

But if he could get the thirty thousand US Dollars, he wouldn’t have to worry in the future!

He could even retire, take this money plus the saved up money, and leave here.

Seeing Old Dog’s expression, Scar knew it was settled.

He pulled Old Dog’s shoulder, ”Old Dog brother, once this gig is done, my contribution is pretty much enough, we won’t stick with Barbarians letting him work in this damned place. I’ll take you to Southern Tibet, my home is there, working at home, that’s what comfort is!”

Old Dog chuckled without saying much, just nodded, ”Then let’s follow Scar’s lead, let’s pull off a grand one!”

Scar laughed heartily upon hearing that, ”Hey! I knew you’d pull it off, we should fiercely have a grand one!”

”But the guy doing survival stuff, seems like he’s called Chen Wen, we’ll need a proper plan about this kid. If he’s not there, we’ll steal the snow leopards and leave, if he is around... hell, we’ll take care of him as well, his head is worth money with the organization too!”

Scar spoke, a hint of ruthlessness flashing in his eyes.

Just have to make sure to take down that flying drone first thing.

Killing someone here and making them vanish without a trace isn’t that difficult!

Old Dog, hearing this, nodded with the same ruthless intensity.

Just then, he seemed to remember something, ”Right, a few brothers said they spotted someone a couple of days ago, might be problematic, should we...”

Scar, upon hearing, didn’t ask for details, just casually said, ”Let the new guys handle it, blood on their hands makes them family, just raise their pay later on.”

”Alright.”

...

Chen Wen’s camp.

Right now he was busy with processing the marmot.

Chen Wen had cut the marmot into pieces and thrown them into the pot, starting with cold water.

As the temperature in the iron pot steadily rose, the hot water gradually brought out the accumulated blood from the marmot meat, turning into blood foam floating on the surface.

Holding a spoon that comes with military rations, Chen Wen patiently skimmed the blood foam and tossed it into an emptied nut bag.

”What’s this for?”

The Golden Eagle chimed in at just the right time as a supporting character.

Chen Wen responded with a smile, ”Cooking meat, skimming the blood foam, only then can you remove the fishy smell of the meat as much as possible, and also avoid contracting the plague. The plague bacteria are resistant to low temperatures but not high temperatures. Though the boiling point is low here, it’s more than enough to kill the plague bacteria.”

After removing all the blood foam, Chen Wen covered the pot and let it simmer slowly.

During this time.

Chen Wen checked the health of the three little snow leopards.

No need to say much about Fat Head, this guy is massively chubby and quite healthy, full of energy.

Though Zhuangzhuang was small and weak at birth, with snow leopard nutrition catching up, it seemed to have consumed some growth agent, its size gradually increased.

While Little Small still seemed a bit sleepy, it too grew quickly and healthily.

After checking the three little snow leopards, Chen Wen placed them by their mother’s side.

Little Small curled up by the snow leopard’s belly, yawned, and fell asleep with its eyes shut.

Zhuangzhuang went to play with the snow leopard’s tail.

Meanwhile, Fat Head, once placed on the ground, immediately turned around and climbed back onto Chen Wen.

”This guy has gotten attached to me, huh?”

Chen Wen laughed happily, holding Fat Head in his arms.

The snow leopard seemed content watching this scene and couldn’t help but feel happy itself.

Holding Fat Head, Chen Wen lay back on the stone bed, waiting for the marmot meat to cook.

...

About half an hour later.

Chen Wen placed Fat Head on the stone bed and started checking the progress of the marmot meat cooking.

After poking the meat with chopsticks, Chen Wen covered the lid to let it continue cooking.

”Cook it for an afternoon, it’ll be ready to eat by evening.”

Chen Wen said as he continued to rest.

He took a piece of milk candy and yak jerky—his own creations.

Breaking the yak jerky in half, one half he ate himself, the other he tossed to Fat Head.

This little fellow couldn’t quite chew it yet; its teeth weren’t all in.

Apart from coating the jerky in saliva, it seemed only to taste the faintly salty flavor.

Later in the evening, Chen Wen took the pot down.

Opening the lid, the strong meat aroma mixed with waves of a fishy smell wafted out.

Chen Wen sniffed it, though the fishy smell remained, it wasn’t too strong.

He picked up a piece of marmot meat with chopsticks, blew on it, then took a bite.

With enough cooking time, the meat wasn’t tough, instead, it was a bit soft and fell off the bone.

Chen Wen sucked the marmot meat off the bone, carefully savoring the flavor.

Aside from a faint fishy smell, the dominant taste was the gamey flavor.

But regardless, it was meat, and it has an entry.

Chen Wen was already quite satisfied.

If the entry was nice, that would be even better!
