Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Most of the time in this world, things don’t go as people wish.

But Chen Wen happened to encounter such a time when things went as he desired.

Glancing at the entry revealed by the marmot, Chen Wen couldn’t help but grin.

This entry isn’t bad!

One fixed negative entry, which indicates a higher tendency to carry viruses.

The other two entries, one is the long-lost golden transformation entry, and the other is a blue organ entry.

Chen Wen looked at them and chose the transformation entry.

[Transformation (Marmot) (Golden): You can now transform into a marmot, gaining almost all positive traits of a marmot. Ps: Transformation entry, lasts for one day, can end early, retains rationality during transformation, can use other entries, transform entry can be upgraded with Inheritance Points. Aftereffect: After transformation ends, you will experience sluggish thoughts for one day]

This entry allows Chen Wen to become a marmot, which doesn’t seem very useful, but indeed isn’t quite useful.

At least Chen Wen couldn’t think of a scenario where he could use it.

But he remembered that marmots seemed very good at digging, maybe it could be used then?

Chen Wen thought about it, but didn’t dwell on its utility.

In his view, every entry has its use eventually.

After choosing the entry, Chen Wen continued eating the marmot meat until he was full.

He didn’t plan to preserve the marmot meat.

But tomorrow or the day after, he might see a Tibetan antelope or a Tibetan gazelle, if he could hunt one or both of them, it would be worth preserving the meat, and just eating a small portion to get the entries.

After dinner, Chen Wen sat at the cave entrance, picking his teeth with a small marmot bone, pondering over hunting the Tibetan gazelle or Tibetan antelope.

Hunting these two, Chen Wen felt there wasn’t much to say.

Get close, throw the spear.

Guaranteed hunting success, right!

Chen Wen shook his head, shaking away the thoughts.

After picking his teeth, he flicked the small bone in his hand into the valley outside the camp and yawned.

It seemed like it was time to sleep.

Thinking about this, Chen Wen couldn’t help but touch his side, where a bit of flab had accumulated.

Damn, feels like I’ve gained weight again.

Chen Wen scratched his head, deciding to exercise a bit before sleeping.

Watching this scene from behind the screen, Qu Yong silently adjusted his jaw.

Goodness, who exercises before sleeping when surviving in the wilderness?

...

Time moved on to the next day.

Chen Wen took out his spear, leisurely left the cave, and headed up the slope to observe the Tibetan antelope and Tibetan gazelle.

He waited for about half an hour.

The Tibetan gazelles were still the same, staying peacefully on the other side of the lake, feeding on the lakeside grass.

But Chen Wen waited for a long time without seeing the Tibetan antelope.

The Tibetan antelopes seemed to have migrated north, no longer nearby.

Chen Wen shook his head, temporarily giving up on hunting a Tibetan antelope.

He decided to hunt a Tibetan gazelle first.

Only one Tibetan gazelle was allowed to be hunted this time.

And it couldn’t be a pregnant female, a calf, or a young male.

Which means, to hunt a Tibetan gazelle, he must find an elderly male or female among them.

Chen Wen scratched his head, recalling the information he got from the reserve on how to distinguish Tibetan gazelles.

He recalled while observing the gazelle herd in the distance.

There weren’t many Tibetan gazelles that met the criteria.

Mainly because Tibetan gazelles still have natural predators on the plateau, and reaching old age is rare.

Predators like wolves, bears, even snow leopards hunt Tibetan gazelles.

Their calves are often preyed upon by lynxes, golden eagles, steppe eagles, vultures, etc.

So finding a suitable Tibetan gazelle is largely a matter of luck.

Chen Wen felt his luck wasn’t too bad. He examined the Tibetan gazelle herd carefully.

There were three that fit the criteria reasonably well.

One was a male Tibetan gazelle, very old, even its horns were almost the size of a Tibetan antelope’s.

A Tibetan gazelle’s horns are thin and small.

And only males have them.

So Chen Wen was sure that the gazelle with large horns was an older male and the type that could be hunted.

He watched this old Tibetan gazelle for a while, but didn’t make a move to hunt.

Because the Tibetan gazelles had almost finished eating, and now all were alert with heads raised.

”We’ll try again tomorrow, no chance today.”

Chen Wen shook his head, saying somewhat helplessly.

Additionally, Chen Wen felt he couldn’t wait too long, the grass here was decreasing visibly, and once the gazelles finished it, they were likely to migrate elsewhere.

Hunting tomorrow would be ideal.

Putting away the spear, Chen Wen found Xiong Ma.

He rode the tamed Li Ma around the lake, surveying the area.

Marking animals that could be hunted but hadn’t given entries yet.

Besides the Tibetan gazelle, Chen Wen found another uncommon animal this time—the Tibetan snowcock.

However, the Tibetan snowcock didn’t give Chen Wen a chance to get close. There was a small group of four, and upon seeing Chen Wen, these pigeon-like creatures flapped their wings and swiftly flew away from him.

”Tibetan snowcock, I remember the information from the reserve mentioned you can hunt one or two.”

Chen Wen muttered, not continuing the chase.

Mainly because he couldn’t catch up.

However, he could let the golden eagle try hunting them later, as catching these birds would be easy for it.

Returning to camp, Chen Wen began preparing his hunting gear for the Tibetan gazelle.

Aside from the spear, Chen Wen also prepared a yak skull helmet and yak hide.

These two items could provide maximum cover for him, allowing him to approach the gazelle herd.

Nothing else needed to be prepared.

Chen Wen placed the hunting tools in a corner of the cave and then started resting.

...

While Chen Wen was resting, other Survivors on this plateau were still striving to survive.

And as survival time extended, the other Survivors were facing issues of unbalanced nutrition.

The Qiangtang Plateau is different from other places.

Although the plateau has a lot of herbivores, their food source is grass.

These grasses are digestible for herbivores but far from suitable for humans!

Therefore.

With a lack of vegetarian options, many participants began experiencing dietary issues over time.

The long-term lack of carbohydrates and vitamins caused several people to exhibit symptoms, some mild, some severe.

Especially those who consumed their rations entirely early on.

They were in the worst condition.

Qu Yong scanned today’s log and pointed to several names: ”Number seven, number nineteen, be ready to bring them back. One is constipated, the other has mood issues, almost time to act on that.”

Hearing this, the staff on the side quickly noted it down.
