Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2595: Chapter 2596: Return to Tianyun (162)

”Second Brother, how is my husband?” Su Xing asked Su Yixing while crying in An Jing’s arms.

Su Yixing sighed heavily with a serious expression while wiping his hands with a brocade handkerchief: ”I’ve done everything I can, now it’s up to the heavens to decide his fate. I can’t do anything more.”

Hearing this, Su Xing cried even harder.

An Jing quickly consoled her, ”Good child, don’t cry. Mingye is a good person, the heavens will surely protect him.”

At this moment, An Jing also felt terrible inside.

Su Yixing was also feeling bad, he sighed again and said, ”If his health were just a little better, he wouldn’t be in this situation.”

Because his body was too weak, when he was struck, he suffered not only external injuries but also vomited blood and was hurt inside. Now he’s in a coma and he really had no way to help him, it’s up to fate now.

Su Xing, besides crying, didn’t know what else she could do.

The fact that Taoming Ye was unconscious made Su Xing deeply distressed, and An Jing and Su Changyi found it impossible to return to the palace with peace of mind, so they simply stayed to accompany Su Xing.

When Su Xing finally stopped crying and sat by the bedside, staring blankly at the comatose Taoming Ye, Su Yi Jing arrived.

As soon as Su Yi Jing arrived, Su Yixing anxiously asked, ”Big Brother, how is it?”

Su Yi Jing glanced at Taoming Ye on the bed, got a sense of the situation, and then said, ”The cook’s family is not home, the house is in complete disarray, but all the money and valuables are there. It doesn’t seem like they ran away, more like they were captured. It’s nighttime now, so most people are asleep. Searching the Imperial City house by house for their whereabouts is a bit troublesome and slow.” ℴ

Su Yixing immediately said, ”Then I’ll send my people to investigate, maybe they might have some news.”

His people naturally were those from the Slayer Tower.

Su Yi Jing understood and nodded, ”Okay.”

Su Yixing quickly instructed his accompanying guard to check if the Slayer Tower knew anything about the matter.

An hour later, the guard reported back: ”There’s something odd about a house in the northern part of the city. It had very little traffic before, but in the past two days, people have been going in and out constantly. And the owner of the house is named Taoming Hai.”

Tao Chengyin and Mrs. Cao were still around, but they had already moved from the main hall to inside a room. Hearing that the owner of the house was Taoming Hai, both were taken aback.

Su Yi Jing immediately stood up and said, ”I will take people to go see right now!”

Tao Chengyin couldn’t believe it and urgently said, ”Prince, I wish to accompany you to see.”

Su Yi Jing didn’t refuse, allowing Tao Chengyin to follow him to the house in the northern part of Imperial City belonging to Taoming Hai.

Taoming Hai’s people were guarding Aunt Zhou’s family’s eight members in that house. They’ve been the ones entering and exiting the house for the past few days; they couldn’t possibly stay in the house without going out and eventually starve to death.

Upon arriving at the house, Su Yi Jing had the guards surround it, no one was allowed to leave, not even a fly.

Only then did he order the door to be kicked open.

Taoming Hai’s people were asleep but got up to check upon hearing the noise. Seeing a large group of people dressed as soldiers rushing in, they were so terrified that they didn’t dare to move.

They only had rudimentary skills, enough to deal with ordinary civilians, but they couldn’t handle so many soldiers.

Tao Chengyin followed Su Yi Jing in and saw that among the people surrounded by soldiers were two of Taoming Hai’s young servants. Only then did he believe that this matter was definitely related to Taoming Hai, and his heart went cold.

”Master!” The two young servants, upon seeing Tao Chengyin, were so scared they knelt down and, without waiting to be questioned, confessed everything themselves, ”Master, don’t blame us. It was the Second Young Master who instructed us to do it!”
