Chapter 2579: Chapter 2580: Return to Tianyun (146)

But because they had been kneeling for too long, their legs were numb. When Taoming Hai and Wan Banyan tried to stand, they stumbled back to the ground, which was quite humiliating, making Taoming Ye and Wan Banyan unable to hold their heads high.

In the end, they were helped up by the maidservants and young servants, barely able to stand properly.

Su Xing laughed inwardly: Served them right!

Mrs. Cao still maintained a smiling face, but she asked in confusion, ”Princess, I heard that Prince Xing’s medical skills are superb. I wonder if the Princess has asked Prince Xing to take a look at Ye’er to see what illness he has?”

Su Xing knew Mrs. Cao would ask this, so she had prepared an answer long ago. When she saw Mrs. Cao asking, she sighed and said, ”Last time, when I went to the palace with Míngyè, I asked my Second Imperial Brother to take a look, but even he couldn’t diagnose the illness. Otherwise, he would have already treated it, and how could we still need to call the Imperial Physician now?”

Although Su Xing solved her doubts, Mrs. Cao still felt very uneasy.

After leaving Su Xing, when she returned to her residence, Mrs. Cao instructed her people to get the medicine according to the prescription.

It was only when she was left alone with her most trusted maid, Manjuan, that Mrs. Cao murmured, ”Manjuan, why do I feel something’s not right? She’s a Princess, and with so many people under her command, she still gives me the prescription, allowing me to make medicine for that bastard. Do you think they’ve found out that I had poisoned him before and are deliberately setting this trap to fool me?”

Manjuan replied, ”It’s possible. Madam, you should be careful now. For the time being, don’t use poison. I also find this matter quite strange.”

Mrs. Cao nodded, ”I think the same, don’t use poison for now, wait and see. It’s really weird; the more I think about it, the less certain I feel, as if they’re setting a trap against me. Besides, do you think it’s hard to make that bastard die? I easily dealt with his mother back then. But I’m afraid this really is a trap, and I don’t dare to fall into it. Though no doctor can detect this poison, but if they find out we’ve added something to the medicine, whether it’s toxic or not, as long as it’s not listed in the prescription, given her aggressive and unforgiving nature, could she spare me? Look at how Banyan offended her before, and she still holds a grudge, making Banyan kneel all morning, not to mention making Haier do the same.

Manjuan quickly flattered, ”Madam is absolutely right.”

On the other side, when Taoming Hai and Wan Banyan returned to their residence, Wan Banyan dared to unleash her anger, furiously smashing things in the room. Taoming Hai ignored her, feeling just as furious and sulky.

When Su Xing had passed the martial champion examination, he regretted marrying Wan Banyan, and now that Su Xing had become a Princess and was granted the royal surname, he regretted even more. But thinking about how ever since Su Xing married into the Tao family, his life had not been as good as before and now was getting harder, even if he regretted it, his resentment towards Su Xing made his teeth itch.

”Ah...” While Banyan was smashing things, she suddenly screamed in pain, bending over and clutching her belly, her face pallid. ”Husband, my stomach hurts...”

Taoming Hai was startled, quickly supporting Banyan while urgently shouting for the young servant to fetch the doctor.

An hour later, the doctor diagnosed the result and said with a smile, ”Congratulations Second Young Master, Second Young Lady is expecting.”

”Really?!” Taoming Hai was very delighted. Wan Banyan had been married to him for more than a year and still hadn’t conceived. His mother had promoted the chambermaid to concubine, hoping he could have offspring. He himself also wished for a son to inherit his lineage.
