Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2570: Chapter 2571: Return to Tianyun (137)

As soon as Su Xing finished speaking, An Jing’s other sons all came over as well. Su Xing hurriedly made introductions, letting Taoming Ye get to know her older brothers one by one.

Taoming Ye stood up and greeted them one by one, but just as he was about to sit back down, his legs gave out and he nearly collapsed; Su Xing and An Yizhi had to catch him in time.

Afraid everyone would worry, Taoming Ye, weak as he was, still quickly said, ”I’m fine.”

Right now Taoming Ye’s face was so pale that he didn’t look fine at all.

Everyone was very anxious, especially Su Xing.

”Second Brother, hurry and check my husband for me.” Su Xing anxiously asked Su Yixing to take a look at what was going on with Taoming Ye.

Su Yixing didn’t take his pulse again. Instead, he smiled and said, ”He’s probably just a bit worn out from these past two days, and he was rattling along in a carriage all the way to the Royal Palace from early this morning. The fact that he held out until now before his legs gave way is already pretty good. Don’t worry, the poison in his body isn’t going to kill him yet, he’s just tired. Let him go rest first.”

An Jing, hearing this, hurriedly told Su Xing to take Taoming Ye off to rest.

Su Xing’s quarters in the Royal Palace had already been arranged. She’d even been given a courtyard of her own, one she could move into and stay in whenever she wanted.

The environment of this courtyard was not only much larger than their courtyard at Tao Mansion, it was at least ten times better.

Only once Su Xing had helped Taoming Ye lie down on the bed did he start urging her, ”Go keep Father-in-law and Mother-in-law company. I just need a bit of a rest and I’ll be fine. Second Brother already said nothing’s going to happen to me, so don’t worry.”

Sitting on the edge of the bed, Su Xing held one of his hands. ”We can talk when we go back. Right now I’m staying here with you for a while.”

So Taoming Ye stopped trying to send her away, and answered her gently, ”Mm.” After a pause, he smiled. ”At first I was a little worried they wouldn’t like me, but now I’m not worried anymore. Still, the way they get along with each other really surprised me. I always thought they’d be aloof and out of reach. I didn’t expect them to be so easygoing.”

Su Xing laughed. ”They’re easygoing because they see us as family. If you’re not family, they wouldn’t be half this easy to talk to. Just look at me—I’m really not someone who’s easy to talk to.”

Taoming Ye laughed. ”You’re obviously very easy to talk to with me.”

”That’s because you’re my husband. I like you and I care about you! As for other people—especially people like Taoming Hai and the others—forget it. I don’t even want to say a single nice word to them.”

”You’re very good to my father, my aunts, Third Brother, Fourth Sister, Fifth Brother, and Sixth Sister too.”

”That’s because they’re all good people. And they treat us pretty well too. All right, stop trying to make excuses about me being easy to talk to. Overall, as long as you don’t cross me, I’m basically very easy to talk to. But if you do cross me, I don’t care who you are, I won’t want to say a single nice word, and I won’t say one either.”

”Your temper is too straightforward.”

”Is that a bad thing?”

Taoming Ye shook his head slightly. ”It’s good. I like you just the way you are.”

”Say it again.”

”I like you just the way you are.” He said it with a smile at the corner of his lips, indulging her.

She immediately bent down and gave him a reward of a quick kiss on the lips, then grinned and said, ”You just stay in the room today. Tomorrow I’ll take you to meet those sisters-in-law. You should be able to tell they really do see us as family. We’ll all be one family from now on, so you have to get to know everyone.”

”Mm.” That he’d somehow become related to the imperial family and gained so many relatives was something Taoming Ye had never even dreamed of. But since it was real, he naturally had to cherish it all.
