Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2560: Chapter 2561: Return to Tianyun (127)

Taoming Ye finally snapped back to reality, hurriedly accepted the decree, and shouted, ”Long live the King, long live the King, long live the King!”

Tao Chengyin, being well-versed in court politics, followed Taoming Ye’s shout, then quickly got up and instructed the housekeeper to give some silver to the eunuch guards who came to announce the decree, especially the great eunuch, to whom he handed a silver note worth one thousand taels.

But the great eunuch declined, smiling, ”Minister Tao, you’re too kind. It’s enough that they have tea, I will join them for a cup. I have to return to the palace, so I won’t stay long.”

With that, the great eunuch took his leave with his entourage.

Once they left, Tao Mingsheng and the others gathered to congratulate Taoming Ye, ”Elder brother, congratulations, congratulations, from now on, you’re the Prince Consort!”

Tao Chengyin also came over to congratulate, ”Prince Consort, congratulations, congratulations.”

Taoming Ye could only respond, ”Father, we share the joy, we share the joy.”

Taoming Hai, Mrs. Cao, and Wan Banyan didn’t want to congratulate Taoming Ye at all, but now Taoming Ye was the Prince Consort, and they dared not neglect to congratulate him, so they joined in with forced smiles.

Tao Chengyin suddenly let out a long sigh, ”Ye’er, our family has truly risen in the world, from now on, we’ll see who dares to look down on our Tao family.”

From now on, with a national Princess overseeing the Tao family, everyone would have to show them some respect.

Taoming Ye smiled warmly, ”But Father, you used to look down on Xin’er.”

This sentence was like a needle, a thorn, piercing into the hearts of Taoming Hai and Mrs. Cao, but the two still had to maintain their smile.

Tao Chengyin wasn’t pricked by it, instead, he smiled a bit sheepishly, ”It’s fortunate that the Princess doesn’t mind, I was truly foolish in the past, from now on I won’t do such foolish things anymore.”

Taoming Ye, full of gratitude, said, ”But I must thank Father, Mother, and my second brother. If it weren’t for you three agreeing to let me marry Xin’er, I wouldn’t be a Prince Consort now. Truly, thank you all.”

This needle, this thorn, became even larger and more piercing, especially with Taoming Ye’s thankful expression, which made Mrs. Cao and Taoming Hai want to tear apart this legitimate eldest son.

Tao Chengyin could only offer a dry laugh, without saying anything.

Mrs. Cao and Taoming Hai didn’t dare speak now, afraid of saying something wrong and displeasing the Prince Consort Taoming Ye, so they could only keep smiling even though in their hearts they wished they could bite Taoming Ye to death.

Wan Banyan didn’t want to harm Taoming Ye, she just wanted Su Xing to die quickly. If Su Xing didn’t die and became a Princess, she didn’t even need to think to know that she wouldn’t have good days in the Tao family going forward.

She had been at odds with Su Xing since she married in!

...

Su Xing had lunch with her parents and siblings in the Royal Palace, then continued to stay in the palace for over an hour, only to leave and return to the Tao Mansion.

However, this time, she was not in the attire she wore when entering the Royal Palace. She was dressed in Princess attire, with headdresses only a Princess could wear, escorted by the Imperial Guard, and rode in a luxurious carriage fit only for a Princess, making a particularly grand and eye-catching return to the Tao Mansion.

The Tao Mansion had already received the message that Princess Su Xing was returning, and everyone went out to welcome her.

As soon as they saw the carriage stopping at the gate of the Tao Mansion, Tao Chengyin and the others hurriedly knelt down, ”Greetings, Princess.”

Su Xing, adorned in Princess attire, was helped out of the carriage and quickly went to assist Tao Chengyin, her elder father-in-law, to his feet. Then, she quickly helped her husband, who looked slightly pale, to his feet as well.

”Husband, I was only out for half a day, why do you look so pale?” Su Xing immediately became concerned.
