Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2588: Chapter 2589: Return to Tianyun (155)

Taoming Hai nodded: ”That’s a plan, but how are we going to kill them? She has so many guards protecting her, and she herself is quite skilled. I heard she uses a Silver needle to test her food every time she eats. Whether we hire assassins to kill her or poison them, it’s impossible.”

Wan Banyan thought for a while, then his eyes lit up, and he said joyfully: ”How about we set a fire? Burn them to death!”

Taoming Hai said: ”You speak so easily. The courtyard where they live is guarded by guards, we’ll be discovered as soon as we get close, how can we set fire?”

Wan Banyan immediately said: ”I know the new cook in their courtyard, if we kidnap her family and threaten her to set the fire, then it’ll work.”

”It might work, but what if she gets caught and exposes us?”

Wan Banyan twisted his face into a smile and said: ”We’ll simply tell her that if she dares expose us, we’ll kill her family. She has two particularly cherished grandsons, who are only a few years old. For the sake of her family’s survival, she’d rather die herself than expose us.”

Taoming Hai finally smiled: ”Good idea!”

”So what are you waiting for, husband? Go send someone to capture her family so we can threaten her. The sooner they die, the better for us.”

”Alright, I’ll do it now.” Taoming Hai was completely led astray by Wan Banyan, wholeheartedly believing Su Xing wouldn’t let him have peaceful days and would harm his children. He rose to take care of this matter.

The cook’s family totaled eight, and once Taoming Hai had them captured, he locked them in a courtyard in the North City of the Imperial City with orders to guard them closely, ensuring none of them escaped.

When Taoming Hai returned to Tao Mansion, he informed Wan Banyan about the capture.

Wan Banyan immediately smiled and said: ”When she leaves their courtyard, we’ll properly threaten her to make her work for us.”

That day, after dinner, Su Xing and Taoming Ye’s cook—Aunt Zhou—washed the dishes and tidied the kitchen before leaving Su Xing and Taoming Ye’s courtyard.

She didn’t live in that courtyard, her residence was where the servants lived, and she was now heading back to the servant quarters.

Just as she passed by a rock garden, Wan Banyan and Taoming Hai emerged, startling her into almost screaming, but Taoming Hai hurriedly covered her mouth to silence her, and led her behind the rock garden.

”Second Young Master, Second Young Lady, do you... do you have any business?” By now, the sky was completely dark, only the faint moonlight allowed her to recognize them. Considering they suddenly appeared to find her, she was somewhat scared, her speech quivering.

Wan Banyan said coldly: ”Of course we have business with you. You should recognize this, right?”

Aunt Zhou took what Wan Banyan handed over and upon closer inspection, recognized it as the Wooden longevity lock worn around the necks of her two young grandsons. She urgently asked: ”How did this end up in the Second Young Lady’s hands? Isn’t this my Baoer and Fu’s?”

Taoming Hai growled softly: ”Keep your voice down!”

Aunt Zhou immediately feared speaking further.

Wan Banyan smiled: ”It’s good that you recognize it. Indeed, this is your two cherished grandsons’ belonging, but we have not only these two grandsons of yours in our hands, but also your other family members. All eight of your family have been captured by us. As long as you follow our orders and do what we ask, we naturally won’t harm them.”
