Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2585: Chapter 2586: Return to Tianyun (152)

An Jing laughed, ”I think your Uncle Gong will make use of you all after helping you this time. He’s really puzzling sometimes, acting so childish and shameless.”

Taoming Ye chuckled softly, ”That’s how it should be.”

An Jing shook her head, ”Míngyè, you really have a good temper. I have so many people in my family, and I used to think Yun Er had the best temper, but it turns out yours is even better.”

Su Xing feigned a mysterious look and said, ”Mom, don’t be fooled by my husband. His temper isn’t actually that good; he’s just really good to me. Truly.”

Taoming Ye not only allowed Su Xing to ’slander’ him but also looked at Su Xing with a particularly gentle gaze, finding her current demeanor adorable.

An Jing was both amused and helpless, but she still said, ”Regardless of whether his temper is truly good or not, we don’t expect much from him; we just hope he treats you well. Since you say so, we’re relieved. Alright, stop showing off your affection to me and your dad. Star asked me to tell you that the medicine won’t conflict with the one that made Míngyè’s face turn pale before. He should continue taking both to avoid suspicion.”

”Uh-huh.” Su Xing quickly nodded and then laughed, ”Since you’re here, Mom and Dad, have lunch with us.”

An Jing laughed, ”If you don’t invite us for lunch, your dad and I will be upset for recognizing you for nothing.”

”How could you recognize me for nothing? I’m very filial.” Su Xing laughed while gently helping An Jing and Su Changyi to the bed bench, where she sat beside An Jing, while Taoming Ye sat on a stool below.

”Mom, would you like me to personally cook something delicious for you?” Su Xing asked playfully.

An Jing laughed, ”No need, it’s rare for your dad and I to visit. Just accompany us for some conversation.” She paused, ”Now that Míngyè’s health isn’t good, you can’t often visit the palace. Once his health improves, you can come see us often.”

Su Xing immediately replied, ”Of course!”

Taoming Ye smiled, ”I’m just afraid you might tire of us visiting too often.”

An Jing laughed, ”No way, your father-in-law and I used to enjoy quiet, but with so many people at home now, it’s never quiet, always lively, and we’ve gotten used to it. If it suddenly got quiet again, your father-in-law and I might not be able to adjust. Once you’re better, feel free to visit the palace often with Xin’er. We’ll be looking forward to it.”

”Indeed.” Taoming Ye swiftly responded with a smile. He cautiously glanced at his father-in-law, Su Changyi, feeling a bit intimidated by his taciturn nature.

”Make sure to take the medicine after meals.” An Jing couldn’t help but remind them.

Su Xing hurriedly reassured, ”Mom, don’t worry, when it comes to my husband’s health, I won’t make any mistakes.”

”I know you cherish your husband.” An Jing shook her head with a hint of helplessness but was smiling all over. Seeing her daughter and son-in-law getting along so well naturally made her happy.

After having lunch at Su Xing’s place and chatting for a while, An Jing and Su Changyi finally left to return to the Royal Palace.

Su Xing and Taoming Ye personally escorted them to the entrance of the Tao Mansion.

Only after watching An Jing and Su Changyi’s carriage disappear into the distance did Su Xing and Taoming Ye return to their courtyard.

As they headed back to their courtyard, Su Xing cheerfully said, ”My parents love me, don’t they?”

Taoming Ye nodded, ”Yes, they love you.”
