Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2580: Chapter 2581: Return to Tianyun (147)

The doctor said, ”It’s absolutely true, the Second Young Lady has experienced fetal movements and requires rest.”

”Alright, alright,” Taoming Hai responded repeatedly.

The doctor prescribed fetus-preserving medicine and gave some advice on what pregnant women should pay attention to before leaving.

After the doctor left, Taoming Hai held Wan Banyan’s hand and said, ”Banyan, you are finally pregnant!”

Wan Banyan was also full of joy. Thinking that Su Xing hadn’t conceived yet, she smiled smugly and said, ”Husband, that noble Princess hasn’t conceived yet. She entered the house even earlier than me. I guess your Commons Brother lacks the capability to impregnate her. Look at how your Commons Brother always seems to be at death’s door. I reckon, she can forget about becoming a mother in this lifetime. What does it matter if she’s a princess or her husband is a Prince Consort? It all leads to a childless fate.”

Hearing this, Taoming Hai’s face also revealed a look of pride and satisfaction.

But before he could speak, they saw Su Xing supporting Taoming Ye while entering, laughing loudly: ”So, my husband and I are fated to be childless.”

Taoming Hai and Wan Banyan were immediately terrified and hastily knelt down, pleading, ”We beg for your forgiveness, Princess, we beg for your forgiveness.”

Su Xing didn’t say anything immediately but helped Taoming Ye sit on a chair with a smile, then turned to Taoming Hai and Wan Banyan with a smile, ”How are you guilty? It’s true I haven’t conceived yet, and my husband’s health isn’t good. As for whether we’re fated to be childless, well, life is long, who knows? Don’t you agree?”

Taoming Hai and Wan Banyan were even more frightened and kowtowed repeatedly, still begging, ”We beg for your forgiveness, Princess, we beg for your forgiveness...”

Su Xing was not only titled a princess but also bestowed the royal surname, making her a member of the Royal Family. Insulting members of the Royal Family would, by law, merit execution! How could they not be afraid?

They thought they were only speaking in private, but they never expected Su Xing to hear every word, and they were truly scared. Very scared.

Ignoring their pleas for forgiveness, Su Xing continued to smile and said, ”My husband and I heard that Second Brother’s wife suddenly felt unwell and even summoned a doctor, so we specially came to check on you. But unexpectedly, you gave us such a big surprise.”

Taoming Hai and Wan Banyan continued to kowtow with loud thuds.

Su Xing then said, ”You should get up, especially you—Second Brother’s wife. I hear you’re pregnant and need to take care of yourself. If you lose the baby because of this, I don’t mind, but father definitely won’t be happy.”

Taoming Hai and Wan Banyan dared not rise and continued to kowtow, begging for leniency.

Su Xing, however, was uninterested in dealing with them further. Supporting Taoming Ye, she gently said, ”Husband, let’s go. It’s clear these two don’t like us, so there’s no need for us to like them either in the future.”

”Hmm,” Taoming Ye responded softly, being led out by Su Xing.

Originally, Wan Banyan’s pregnancy made both her and Taoming Hai quite happy, but now, they had offended Su Xing and Taoming Ye, meaning trouble awaited them in the future.

Looking ahead, Wan Banyan and Taoming Hai only saw darkness, without any hope in sight.

...

After leaving the courtyard where Wan Banyan and Taoming Hai resided, Su Xing’s expression darkened.

Though one hand still supported Taoming Ye, her other hand moved away and, with a forlorn expression, she touched her still-flat belly.

Despite having spent many intimate nights with her husband, she couldn’t understand why she hadn’t conceived yet.
