Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2564: Chapter 2565: Return to Tianyun (131)

”Mm.” Taoming Ye nodded, his gaze and smile growing even more gentle. With her treating him like this, he had no regrets in this life.

Although there were only the two of them in the room, Su Xing still lowered her voice and said to Taoming Ye, ”Husband, I have something to tell you.”

Seeing Su Xing looking particularly mysterious, Taoming Ye couldn’t help but lower his voice as well and asked, ”What is it?”

”Your poor health is because you’ve been poisoned.”

Taoming Ye had already suspected that his body was poisoned, so he wasn’t too surprised. He just said, ”I also thought I was poisoned, but after seeing many doctors and none of them found anything, I wondered if I wasn’t. But my health is still so bad... Xin’er, how did you know I was poisoned?”

Su Xing said, ”Do you remember Grandpa Gong and Grandma Gong?”

Taoming Ye nodded, ”I remember.”

”They’re really not ordinary people. They’re Qing Royal Uncle... no, I should call him Third Imperial Brother now. They’re the in-laws of my Third Imperial Brother. Grandpa Gong is actually named Gong Juechen, Grandma Gong is named Ye Zhi, they’re friends of my adoptive parents, and they’re living in the Royal Palace now. No wonder I couldn’t find any information about them when I was asking around in the Imperial City. I should now call them Uncle Gong and Aunt Ye, even though they’re much older than me. But Uncle Gong is actually really skilled in medicine, and he secretly took your pulse while supporting you, discovering that you are poisoned.”

After taking a breath, Su Xing continued, ”You might have noticed too; Uncle Gong is a bit eccentric and does things entirely based on his mood. He was very interested in your poisoning at the time, so he planned to make a remedy to see if he could cure you. The prescription he sold us, which we thought was a tonic, was actually intended to detoxify you. But who knew, after secretly taking your pulse again later, he found that the remedy could only suppress the poison in you, not eliminate it. At that point, he lost interest in curing you and never showed up again. If I hadn’t met them in the palace, I wouldn’t have known about this.”

Taoming Ye laughed, ”What a coincidence.”

Su Xing held his hand and quickly added, ”I also met the Second Imperial Brother, and he promised to take a look at you. Tomorrow, we’ll go to the palace, let him examine you, and we’ll stay in the Royal Palace for a few days. My adoptive parents are very fond of me. They wanted me to stay today, but I was worried about you, so I came back. But I already discussed it with my adoptive parents, and tomorrow I’ll take you to the palace with me.”

Taoming Ye, however, felt somewhat unreal and held Su Xing’s hand tightly, ”Xin’er, I’m not dreaming, am I? You’ve really been conferred as a Princess? Am I now a Prince Consort?”

”It’s not a dream. I didn’t expect it to be like this.” She lied. ”But my adoptive parents lost a treasured princess, and they took quite a liking to me at first sight. After a few chats, they decided to consider me their adopted daughter, and so, I was made a Princess.”

Taoming Ye sighed, then gently smiled and said, ”As long as it’s not a dream. But to be honest, I never imagined that I could ever have such an honorable status, it makes me feel even less worthy of you.”

”There you go again, saying things to make me angry!” Su Xing immediately pouted, looking very displeased.

Seeing this, Taoming Ye hurriedly hugged her and softly coaxed, ”It was my fault, I should be punished. Xin’er, please don’t be angry. I’m just so happy, I never expected us to have such good days.”
