Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2590: Chapter 2591: Return to Tianyun (157)

”Husband, my stomach hurts... it hurts so much...” Wan Banyan curled up on the ground, clutching her stomach, her face pale and drenched in cold sweat, crying out in pain.

Taoming Hai was even more terrified, picking up Wan Banyan and rushing back to the yard while urgently instructing the Young Servant to quickly fetch a doctor.

Before the doctor arrived, Mrs. Cao and they all heard that Wan Banyan’s stomach hurt, and they all came over worriedly to look.

Wan Banyan was just lying on the bed, crying out in pain from her stomach, even her white dress was stained with blood.

Seeing this, everyone had a sense of what was happening.

Sure enough, after the doctor examined her, Wan Banyan had indeed miscarried.

Upon hearing that Wan Banyan had miscarried, Tao Chengyin immediately cursed, ”What were you doing wandering around at night? Now look, even the child has gone missing!”

As soon as Tao Chengyin came to see Wan Banyan, he asked what happened. Taoming Hai lied, saying he went for a walk with Wan Banyan, but she accidentally stumbled, and this was the result.

Mrs. Cao also scolded, crying while yelling, ”My dear grandson, gone just like that because of your antics! What were you thinking, wandering around when it was dark? What harm would’ve come if you’d waited till tomorrow!”

Wan Banyan and Taoming Hai felt they were ’wronged’ but couldn’t express it. They hadn’t expected this. Clearly, better days were coming, yet the child was lost instead...

Su Xing also heard that Wan Banyan had fallen and came over supporting Taoming Ye to see. At this moment, they were sitting in the room.

Hearing the scoldings from Tao Chengyin and Mrs. Cao, Su Xing felt regret for Wan Banyan, as the child was lost just like that. She and her husband longed for a child but had yet to conceive.

If she were pregnant, she would certainly protect herself better and not let any harm come to the child in her womb.

Wan Banyan’s stomach was still in severe pain, and with Tao Chengyin and Mrs. Cao’s scolding, she also felt aggrieved. Seeing Taoming Ye and Su Xing there, she wiped her tears while hiding her resentment toward them.

If it weren’t for the need to threaten Aunt Zhou to burn the two of them, would she have gone out at night and lost the child?

Clearly, at this moment, Wan Banyan placed all the blame for accidentally losing the child on Su Xing and Taoming Ye.

After everyone left, because the child was gone, Taoming Hai became much colder towards her, making Wan Banyan wish for Su Xing and Taoming Ye’s early deaths. She felt her current situation was all caused by them!

...

Aunt Zhou took action on the final night of the three-day deadline given by Taoming Hai and Wan Banyan.

After Su Xing and Taoming Ye finished their dinner and night had fallen, Aunt Zhou waited until the maidservants and guards in the yard had eaten. Seeing she was alone in the kitchen, she took out all the oil, poured half around the kitchen walls, scattered the firewood all over, and then lit it, igniting a fierce blaze.

Without waiting for the maidservants and guards to react, she grabbed a torch, holding a can of oil, and rushed toward Su Xing and Taoming Ye’s room. The guard saw but was too far to stop her. She lit the door and windows of Su Xing and Taoming Ye’s room and doused them with oil.

Knowing she would never survive after killing the Princess and the Prince Consort, she didn’t wait for the guard to catch her. She slammed her head against the nearby pillar, dying instantly.

Because of the particularly dry weather these days, and the houses being mostly wooden and connected, the fire quickly engulfed Su Xing and Taoming Ye’s yard.
