Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2563: Chapter 2564: Return to Tianyun (130)

Tao Chengyin immediately smiled broadly, ”I’ve never used such a precious object, truly thanks to the Princess.”

Su Xing smiled and said, ”Of course.” Then, she turned to speak with her husband Taoming Ye, asking if he was feeling unwell and if he wanted to return to the room. In any case, she completely ignored Mrs. Cao, Taoming Hai, and Wan Banyan, giving them nothing.

Tao Chengyin felt that Su Xing should give something since everyone else had, and not giving these three would cause them to lose face. However, now Su Xing is the Princess, he dared not say anything against her decision. Thus, even though Tao Chengyin disagreed with Su Xing’s actions, he said nothing.

And Su Xing had her reasons for not giving.

Although she had no evidence yet, she was sure that the poison in her husband’s body was the work of Mrs. Cao.

Why should she be kind to someone who harmed her darling husband?

As for Taoming Hai and Wan Banyan, they were no good either. She had clashed with them previously. At that time, she didn’t hold back; now that she’s a Princess, should she tolerate them? Give them gifts? That’s a dream! She wouldn’t give even a single coin!

She didn’t care whether it was socially acceptable or not; she only wanted to live happily, with a clear conscience.

At this moment, someone came to report that King Jing had sent gifts to Princess Su Xing.

Su Yi Jing was not yet the King of Xiyun, so he couldn’t use the ”gift” title, nor did he have a eunuch standing at the door announcing one item at a time. Yet, when they were delivered, large boxes and various precious items amounted to thirty-eight pieces.

”Princess,” Su Yi Jing’s guard handed the gift list to Su Xing and then left.

Next, Prince Xing, Prince Qing, Cloud Royal Uncle, Qi Royal Uncle, Prince Lin, and Prince Zhi also sent gifts to Su Xing, each contributing thirty-eight items.

With so many gifts combined, the Tao family’s main hall couldn’t fit them all, prompting Su Xing to order the gifts to be moved to the courtyard of her residence.

As the items were still being moved, Su Muchen, the Emperor, sent someone to bestow gifts as well, totaling forty-eight items, each being either a rare treasure or a valuable object. ℯℯ𝘭.

Afterward, Lord Night and various other princesses and princes also sent their gifts.

The more Su Xing received, the more Mrs. Cao and Taoming Hai regretted why Taoming Hai didn’t marry her initially, instead letting Taoming Ye replace him to marry her.

Wan Banyan was so consumed with jealousy that she dared not raise her head, fearing Su Xing would notice her eyes turning red from envy.

Su Xing, however, paid them no mind, helping Taoming Ye return to their courtyard residence. Seeing the courtyard filled with items, Su Xing instructed Hong Ye to sort them into categories and store them in an empty room in the courtyard, locking it as a warehouse.

Having exerted too much energy today, Taoming Ye began to cough. Upon seeing him cough, Su Xing quickly helped Taoming Ye into their room.

She guided Taoming Ye to the round table inside the room and poured him a cup of tea to drink.

Taoming Ye took a sip, coughed some more, and finally managed to stop. He then pulled Su Xing, who was watching him with concern, to sit on the round stool beside him.

”You are now nobly a Princess; you cannot care for me as you did before—it’s improper.”

Su Xing chuckled, ”Even though I am now a Princess, you are still my husband, right? Isn’t it said that the husband is the sky for the wife? You are my sky, and I should care for you. Come now, don’t take my title too seriously. We are as we were before, and we will be the same in the future. Otherwise, I’d really get angry with you, and you don’t want me to be angry with you, do you?”
