Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2566: Chapter 2567:

The Queen herself said it, so Taoming Ye could only respond respectfully: ”Yes, Mother-in-law.” Then he respectfully called Su Changyi: ”Father-in-law.”

An Jing nodded in satisfaction.

Although Su Changyi still had no expression, he also nodded and responded lightly: ”Hmm.”

An Jing returned to her seat while instructing Su Xing and Taoming Ye to sit: ”Please sit.”

Su Xing did not sit immediately but supported Taoming Ye to sit first. Taoming Ye actually felt a bit afraid to sit, even though he is now the Prince Consort, he cannot sit at the same table with the Emperor and Empress. However, seeing An Jing and Su Changyi truly wanted him to sit, and Su Xing urged him, he finally sat down, but he still felt very uneasy inside.

Su Xing was much more straightforward, seeing Taoming Ye sit down, she immediately sat on the stool next to him.

An Jing noticed Taoming Ye’s unease and laughed: ”Your temperament isn’t as good as Xin’er’s. Xin’er was just declared my daughter yesterday, and look at her today, already so familiar with us. I hope tomorrow, you can be more familiar with us too, don’t be so estranged, we’re family now. If you continue like this, it will create distance.”

Taoming Ye responded respectfully and anxiously: ”Mother-in-law’s lesson is right.”

An Jing laughed again: ”It’s actually not your fault. In Tianyun, how many people are not respectful and fearful when they see me and your father-in-law? Once you get used to what our family is really like, you will naturally be at ease.”

”Yes, Father-in-law.” Taoming Ye replied warmly.

Su Xing was still very concerned about Taoming Ye’s health, and finally couldn’t hold back, she spoke up: ”Mother, is my second brother in the palace today? If he is, let him quickly take a look at my husband.”

Taoming Ye immediately became nervous again, ”How can I trouble Second Royal Brother to come over, I should go to him myself.”

An Jing laughed: ”See, you’re creating distance again.”

Taoming Ye forced out two dry laughs.

Only then did An Jing continue: ”We all know you’re not in good health. Although we’ve met you once before, I didn’t expect you to become my son-in-law. Otherwise, I would have asked Star to look at you then.”

Upon saying this, An Jing smiled at Su Xing: ”Don’t worry. You said you’d come to the palace with Míngyè today, so your second brother naturally won’t go anywhere. I will send someone to call your second brother over and tell him you and Míngyè are already here.”

After speaking, An Jing turned to look at the chief eunuch: ”Go, summon Prince Xing.”

The chief eunuch immediately sent a minor eunuch to call.

Soon, Su Yixing arrived.

”Second Royal Brother...” As soon as Taoming Ye saw Su Yixing in his princely attire enter, he wanted to stand up and salute, but Su Yixing quickly walked over and pushed him back onto the stool.

”No need for formalities, brother-in-law. We are family now. Just call me Second Brother like Xin’er does. We are at home now, not outside; there is no need for so much formality. Besides, our family is a bit different, over time you’ll understand.”

An Jing laughed: ”I was just telling him the same thing. He’ll get used to it over time, but he can’t adapt yet.”

As Su Yixing sat on the other side of Taoming Ye, he laughed: ”Do outsiders think we are a royal family with three heads and six arms, ready to eat people?”

When these words were spoken, everyone laughed.

Of course, Su Changyi still maintained his expressionless demeanor.

Su Xing laughed and urged: ”Second Brother, quickly take a look at my husband, see how pale he is.”

Su Yixing laughed: ”What’s the rush? He’s here alive and well, so there’s no need to hurry.”
