Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Hill opened his mouth, then quickly closed it.

Something seemed to be burning in his Mental Sea.

It was as if a vague voice was telling him... he stood at the most crucial fulcrum of a river of destiny.

Edna’s Path of Destiny, compared to this fulcrum, was insignificant.

That was merely Toril’s fate.

But at this moment, Lansendel’s decision could impact the entire multiverse!

And Hill, seemingly entangled in this matter yet trivial, completed his first destiny observation at this fulcrum.

Whether he is willing to admit his identity or not, at this moment, Hill has hung his destiny star in that river of destiny.

He can choose not to observe this river of destiny, but he has already been granted the qualification to enter.

And this qualification is something even the deities who wrote prophecy into their divinity were unable to possess.

Hill gently pinched his fingers... but he didn’t need this qualification at all!

Those who comprehend destiny can only remain speechless.

And he clearly wanted to remind Lansendel... not to forget about the existence of the Dark Sun in Toril!

He understood these things not through destiny’s guidance, so why couldn’t he speak!

But Hill’s Mental Sea at this moment felt as though it was locked, preventing him from saying what he originally intended.

His hand clenched tightly... Hill seemed to sense that this wasn’t due to the river of destiny’s obstruction, but rather, a seal specifically from another bloodline source.

If Hill hadn’t hung up his own destiny star, he probably would never see this deity that only appeared in the river of destiny.

This was a God of Destiny older and more powerful than Tai Ji, perhaps comparable to the existence of the Styx, appearing with the river of destiny.

In a mysterious moment, Hill seemed to see a wisp of wind... gently flowing in the starry river of destiny.

It halts for nothing, never stopping its pace, only occasionally circling around something or someone that piqued its interest whether they be deity, human, or object. Then it loses interest and moves on without turning back.

It seems hard for it to give birth to its own lineage, even if leaving its aura for a moment out of curiosity, which even influenced the birth of gods in certain worlds.

Hill gently pressed his forehead... though his curiosity was limited, it always transpired quite severely.

For instance, when observing curiously as AO took over the shattered Toril... resulting in a rather abnormal Tai Ji, a threat to AO’s existence, emerging.

This being, renowned throughout the multiverse, born able to see countless tributaries of the river of destiny, not just Toril’s fate, the Goddess Tai Ji, was because her resonance with the aura left behind at her birth.

Though Toril’s strength provided the energy necessary for such a Tai Ji to emerge, without him, Tai Ji would have been merely Toril’s Goddess of Destiny, controlled by the Tablets of Fate.

Hill could understand this deity from the river of destiny’s seal on him... Not only is it difficult to birth his lineage, it’s even hard for a destiny goddess like Tai Ji to live long because of him.

There are countless observers of fate, but those deities who intervene in its direction are always toyed with by destiny.

Tai Ji involved herself even with matters outside of Toril.

Perhaps, the moment she saw her demise in the tributaries of destiny and frantically sought a revival hope for her future self, it sealed her fate of never returning.

She did not just fall, but was divided into two, eternally opposing each other.

Lansendel, realizing this, became so desperate he recklessly acted against Amanata since he understood... unless he could destroy AO, he would never be able to unify fortune and misfortune again.

Even Tai Ji, merely influenced, faced such calamity, so it was impossible for his direct lineage!

Birth was difficult.

He didn’t insist on leaving his lineage, but as the Master of Destiny, being unable to control even his own destiny was frustrating.

He agreed to Coron’s advances for two reasons: the Father of Elves was remarkably one of the few whose main divinity wasn’t destiny yet could engrave his destiny star in the river of destiny.

Furthermore, to avoid being affected by destiny, the Father of Elves wisely linked his perspective solely with racial survival... not even hanging his destiny star.

And as a Racial God, having a premonition about major events threatening the race is their inherent privilege... Coron simply heightened this premonition using the river of destiny.

This wisdom, coupled with exceptional control, piqued his interest slightly.

When discovering Coron leaned more towards chaos, he was overly surprised and accidentally left a trace.

Coron, being perceptive, noticed every subtle anomaly around him.

Therefore, as a gesture of goodwill, the Master of Destiny chose to show his face.

However, unexpectedly for him, Coron became fixated on having a fleeting affair with him ever since.

Even if the Master of Destiny could change into a female, from the beginning he had chosen a male image... he wouldn’t want to lie beneath someone else.

The river of destiny granted him much and naturally influenced him greatly... An arrogance that refuses to be controlled by anyone is, of course, one of his attributes.

However, once Coron confirmed that he received no attention from the Master of Destiny as a man, he directly transformed into a lively and adorable, pure little Tree Demon like a Little Deer.

Hill tried hard to close his eyes, to avoid associating that breathtakingly beautiful little girl with Coron... It’s so damn tormenting!

He still had the mindset of a Human, really unable to treat the male deity turned female body as a woman.

But these Deities seem quite accepting of such transformations.

Heim of Toril was devastated not because he slept with a deity that was outwardly female and inwardly male, but because that deity was clearly Cyric toying with him.

Hill sincerely hoped he wouldn’t end up like that himself one day.

Better to remain a Mage... at least his thoughts are still logical.

Of course, maybe that is the most illogical thought by Multiverse standards, but at least currently he still feels it’s normal.

He worked hard to push out the image of the Tree Demon that perfectly fits his aesthetics from his mind... Although pure and charming, yet youthful and dynamic, it’s truly always been Hill’s preference!

Damn... once upon a time, he even liked pure-style sporty beauties as female idols!

Hill gazed at the Master of Destiny’s look that couldn’t help but be drawn in, slumping despondently on the sofa... Even though everything was just an image in the Mental Sea, in reality, he felt unable to bear this terrifying weight!

Then he couldn’t help but sit up again.

He might understand now where Coron’s slightly crazy behavior comes from... if the appearance-appreciating Father of Elves sees such beauty and doesn’t go mad, then he wouldn’t be him!

It’s a beauty beyond words.

Remove a bit of the mystery and transcendence, and roughen the lines two or three times, and what you have is the appearance of Westaria, Toril’s most beautiful Elven God King.

Westaria’s beauty, though breathtaking, was something Hill could comprehend.

But the Master of Destiny before him... probably due to his birth from the most mysterious river of destiny?

Beauty that leaves one speechless for praise.

Ode to the River Goddess seems to insult his beauty.

Hill’s spirit curled up into a ball within his Mental Sea... Indeed, their combination might be said to be the depiction of ’the most beautiful people should be together’.

Even though Coron’s face still falls short by thirty or forty percent compared to the Master of Destiny, her lively and adorable aura bridges this gap.

But initially, the Master of Destiny hadn’t intended to produce offspring with Coron.

It was Coron’s own request.

Having a fate star in the river of destiny meant knowing how rarely the Master of Destiny, born from the same river, appeared in the same place.

Finding him again was extremely difficult.

Yet, if he had this descendant, relying on the bloodline connection, there was still a chance of another encounter.

Naturally, the Master of Destiny was quite willing.

Though Coron was born late, he was a deity inherently born from the Multiverse... although influenced by the World Tree, Coron and the God of Orcs were indeed birthed from the original substance of the Multiverse.

Therefore, Coron was the most likely to break the restrictions of the Law, allowing his descendants to see the existence of this world.

But the Master of Destiny also wouldn’t simply wait for destiny’s decisions... being the master of destiny, how could he do nothing?

He imposed many restrictions on his offspring.

The reason why Westaria’s mind seems a bit lacking, Hill suspects, is due to being too firmly sealed by the Master of Destiny.

Besides a similar face, practically nothing else.

And Westaria’s descendants, not to mention, completely unable to activate even a trace of the Master of Destiny’s bloodline.

The Master of Destiny hadn’t originally thought too far ahead; as long as Westaria living proved his idea correct.

The Multiverse’s limitation was merely to prevent another like him from appearing, not to stop his descendants from being born.

But also due to past events, the Master of Destiny couldn’t tolerate his descendants having an existence that the World Rules wouldn’t allow to be born... If not for that Earth Bear finding it in his descendant, he certainly wouldn’t mind.

Therefore, he slightly borrowed a wave from the God of Time and Space.

Brought Hill, who had a bit of the Law of the Earth’s residual waves, over... Hill indeed is himself, but his arrival wasn’t a coincidence.
