Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Shaer actually understands who Lansendel is truly concerned about.

She chuckled softly: ”What are you worrying about? That sun... If Amanata dares to devour it, that would truly be interesting.”

Lansendel froze for a moment, then sighed: ”Ah, but this ’interesting’ is just in your eyes.”

Shaer couldn’t help but snort coldly.

Although she wouldn’t view returning Toril to darkness and silence as her only pursuit in life like she did in the past, it remains her greatest pursuit.

Therefore, Shaer indulges the involvement of those deities in controlling the Undead Tribe in Toril, not only willing to cooperate with them in certain places but even allowing the Undead Tribe carrying their emblems to enter her territory!

Only by doing so will William not be conned into managing Toril’s affairs by that meddling character, Coron!

Thus, even if AO continuously shows a keen interest in William, Shaer remains unwavering and firmly keeps William outside of the Toril Universe.

Because Shaer also doesn’t know, whether when the sudden chance arises to return Toril to silence, she might flip on William to achieve her lifelong goal.

Shaer may not be adept in romance, but she truly understands human nature.

The difference between deities and humans lies only in their different boundaries, not in their complete unmoveability.

Hence, she knows, the best way to maintain a relationship is not to test the human heart.

Even with her own heart, she can’t guarantee it, so how can she force William to abandon his principles and divinity?

Luckily, William is a deity who only enjoys managing his own affairs in Teraxil, without any interest in extending justice to other worlds.

If he were like Tyr... Shaer quickly cut off that thought; she couldn’t care less about that.

Anyway, matters of Toril are resolved within Toril; she won’t let these troubles escape Toril.

Outside of Toril, Shaer can temporarily forget the noisy world.

Shaer suddenly smiled... Although William never strays too far or too long from Teraxil, he never makes Shaer uncomfortable.

Even though sometimes William’s little gestures of romance amuse Shaer... but for some reason, even such overly brilliant scenery still pleases her.

Probably because William will definitely not allow noisy disturbances there?

The Gods of Time and Space indeed have their advantages in this regard.

Even amidst bustling crowds, they can let Shaer enjoy a serene atmosphere.

Just like the gentle and tranquil feeling currently in the Magic Tower... Hill may not have William’s world-secluding ability, but he always provides them with the most suitable space.

Shaer originally believed she could coexist peacefully with Lansendel and that fool in Hill’s Floating Castle because she was willing to tolerate for William’s sake.

But later discovered, when encountering those two elsewhere, she still wanted to beat them to death.

Heh~

At that moment, she realized that Hill is indeed a pure Child of Nature, completely different from those complex-minded deities of the Natural Divine System in Toril.

His mere presence can make one feel like basking in spring, seeing him also calms the heart.

Of course, it also has to do with the ever-present soothing aura in Hill’s location... but Shaer also understands, this aura is merely a catalyst; Hill’s existence itself is the reason.

Actually, Lansendel and that fool eventually understood this point.

Neither is the type of existence where anyone can make them sit in one spot.

Even if the one inviting them is Edna, raised by the Undead Tribe.

However, that girl is the only deity left in Toril who can express goodwill separately to them without incurring the annoyance of the other few.

The shared fighting experiences on the Path of Destiny, coupled with Edna’s harmonious relationships with the chosen of all three... have formed a surprisingly incredible alliance in Toril.

This is also the reason why Shaer has to slightly divert her focus... as long as Edna hasn’t done anything to provoke her, Shaer temporarily has no intention of intervening behind that girl’s affairs.

So now, her chosen ones are primarily expanding and building their own forces, temporarily lying low... just as Anmur, Kalinsan, and Chult are unclaimed lands, allowing them to do as they please.

Shaer certainly won’t stop there, but she’s willing to watch as these hundred years swiftly pass.

As for a hundred years later... the bunch in Toril have always been like wild boars incapable of eating fine bran.

A peaceful and harmonious life is the most meaningless time for them.

They will inevitably stir up waves once again.

That time, it will be the moment for their Dark Night to act once more.

Shaer slightly raised her head, her gaze calmingly directed at the giant screen unfurling once again... Hill has already sent his surveillance puppets to the edges of the battlefield.

In that temple, the Battle Angels are raining down arrows all over.

Shaer couldn’t help but sneer: Asmodier, after achieving his goals, has no desire to act anymore.

Although these arrows appear widespread, their lethality is merely just so.

This is the basic skill of Battle Angels, it doesn’t even require them to expend mana!

This world, those so-called beings above the Ninth Order, dare not reveal themselves so quickly, directly challenging the Sia Tower, thus forming the current stalemate on the battlefield.

However, this also left Shaer a bit confused... the true nature of humans in this world is not the type that Hill appreciates.

Just like on the battlefield at this moment... if it were William and Hill, they wouldn’t let their most loyal subordinates use their lives to probe the depths of the enemy.

If the Undead Tribe cannot be utilized, both William and Hill would undoubtedly go first themselves... the strongest should stand at the forefront, and many deities in Teraxil possess this demeanor.

Including Hill’s treasured Sea God daughter Agleya, and even Teraxil’s God of Nobility, considered part of the evil side.

Facing powerful enemies, they don’t prefer sending their subordinates first to probe the opponent’s limits before making their grand entrance.

But this world... Shaer doesn’t need to look more to know how cowardly their style is.

Even after the Sia Tower has been emptied, leaving only a half-dead Temple, they still hide at the back for probing!

Seriously... of those useful people, do half have to die?

Therefore, Shaer is puzzled, why does Hill, who didn’t take a fancy to any child in Toril, have two students in this world?

As for aptitude... that boy is pretty decent, even in Toril, he would be considered a promising Demigod level mage.

But that girl?

Even reaching the Legendary level would be quite challenging.

Shaer is a bit bewildered... but she doesn’t want to ask Hill.

So, she’d better go find William!

The Lady of the Night made her choice cheerfully, the shimmering violet eyes instantly dimmed... there’s no way to avoid going to William, then she inevitably has to get involved with the bustle on the Heavenly Mountain, so she can’t spare too much divine power on her other incarnations.

Hill slightly tilted his head... Shaer trusts him too much!

Although the Lady of the Night must have a backup plan on her incarnation, being able to store her incarnation so relaxed... Hill himself wouldn’t dare trust himself so much.

Especially with the meddling Lansendel beside him, being even more troublesome hands and mouth.

-----------------

”What is Shaer up to?” Lansendel, who had noticed what Hill discovered, naturally could sense it.

But asking this question is quite silly... how could Hill possibly know what Shaer is up to?

After asking, Lansendel couldn’t help but laugh: ”Ah~ I almost forgot, compared to me, she has more room to maneuver over there on the Heavenly Mountain.

So many... deities to exploit!”

His tone was somewhat sarcastic.

Hill could only smile in return... if no shadow exists in the heart, Shaer wouldn’t easily erode a deity living in a place of positive energy like the Heavenly Mountain.

Even if those deities are in the lower levels where positive energy is relatively weak, it still holds true.

But, within the Heavenly Mountain, from top to bottom, can one-tenth of the deities be fearless?

So, Lansendel then claimed it’s Shaer’s opportunity.

Hill turned his head to look at Lansendel on the side, always feeling this Lord of Dawn is displeased.

”What’s the matter with you?” He pondered, and decided to offer the restless Great Peacock a chance to speak.

”Amanata.” Lansendel, indeed, had something to say, ”He’s really trying to control this world’s Sun!”

His expression was somewhat melancholic: ”Though I don’t care much for that guy’s life or death, but...”

Then Lansendel immediately changed the subject: ”You know, why doesn’t Shaer care about what’s happening in this world, including Amanata potentially absorbing this world’s Power of the Sun, thereby regaining strong divine power?

That guy hates Shaer deeply because of that Kalinsan issue!”

Although Amanata initially intended to use Kalinsan’s Temple of the Night God as his stepping stone to regain strength, he failed to step on them and instead got squashed like mud.

Yet, the hatred between the Sun God and the Goddess of the Night has never been about reason.

Lansendel didn’t need Hill’s response, he continued all by himself: ”Shaer probably hopes Amanata is really foolish enough to swallow this world’s Sun.

Toril’s Sun is a planet burning with the Eternal Flame! It’s not a naturally born sun.

If he really fused with this dual-core Sun... Hill, what do you think I should choose?”

Lansendel fell into obvious conflict.

Hill understood, but he wished he didn’t... Toril’s artificial sun evidently might easily transition into this world’s solar mode.

As for AO, he probably wouldn’t care about this change, he might even be happy to see such a unique celestial event.

And this result favors the Lord of Dawn.

But, for the human world, it doesn’t.
