Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Hill completely understood why William was happy.

Compared to himself, who only occasionally dealt with Draculus and found him bothersome, William was the one who was always dealing with the Mage Guild Leader.

Even after becoming the God of Justice, William still couldn’t have anyone else deal with Draculus... even his very capable cousin Naven couldn’t walk away unscathed from the cunning and shameless old guy.

And William could handle it not because he could keep up with Draculus’s schemes, but because, as the Lord of Justice, he could naturally cheat... Every deal and clause proposed by Draculus had to be weighed by their family’s precious Scales first.

Even if William made a wrong judgment at first, he could always backtrack under the pretense that Draculus violated the Law of fairness and justice.

But, the key point is, William never regretted it once.

So, Hill could completely understand his gloating.

Draculus deserved someone like Glaysia, who was shameless and unreasonable, yet still able to suppress his resistance firmly.

The crucial point is that Glaysia just made him hard to deal with, not to the extent of taking his life... although she was an annoying person, it wasn’t enough to wish for his death.

After all, they had once fought side by side for Teraxil.

No matter what Draculus had done, no one could say he didn’t deserve to be a Teraxil person.

Therefore, for someone like Hill and William, who are reasonable, being able to see his troubles and record everything firmly is truly valuable.

It suddenly felt like a huge relief!

But there are some things Hill didn’t plan to say out loud, so he just smiled at the curious Shaer: ”Sometimes, the fun of people you know is even more worth watching wholeheartedly.

Think about it, standing there, utterly unwilling, just wanting to slap the woman in front of you but can’t move, only forced to listen to her nonsense, is Lan...”

Hill quickly stopped himself from saying the wrong thing.

But Shaer already understood.

She understood well and agreed, then swiftly switched that Glaysia to Celene... showing a very satisfied smile.

Hill completely didn’t want to think about whom this Lady of the Night had dragged into it this time.

In any case, he had already tried hard to cover the embarrassing side of William in all this... as to whether that guy wanted to use his impotence to awaken the pity of his beloved Shaer, that was up to him.

Hill, although not very experienced, had learned the smartest lesson: when others are in love, you’d better not even utter a peep.

Even if it’s a good peep, it’s still a peep.

Not wanting to get involved in the games of young couples, ending up bewildered, or awkwardly caught in a dilemma, it’s best to remain silent and pretend to know nothing.

Compared to those foolish plots in movies and TV shows where characters always help couples around them to solve issues, Hill trusted more those online curses by unlucky fellows who accidentally got caught in couples’ wars or flirtations.

Therefore, he carefully avoided any issues that would require explaining William’s actions to Shaer, shifting the topic onto himself and the common psychology of the people.

Even at the cost of sacrificing his friendship with Lansendel... of course, he also considered the fact that where Shaer is, no one can see or hear the things she doesn’t want seen or heard.

But Hill was also prepared for the worst.

Shaer could very possibly show that previous segment to Lansendel... not because she disliked Hill, but because that’s just her character.

If Lansendel gets too happy, Shaer is sure to make him unhappy.

Hill definitely wouldn’t believe that Shaer, gentle and sweet in front of William, was genuinely gentle and kind.

However, Hill also prepared a gift to apologize for his act of using Lansendel as a shield: with the shiniest, most special materials he possessed, he made a colorful Sun Peacock Puppet.

Of course, he made this also to leave himself a souvenir.

During the time in the Floating Castle, if it wasn’t for the constant reminder that it was the Lord of Dawn, Hill would have really wanted to touch that beautiful big tail!

And who doesn’t want to see the Sun Peacock spread its tail?

So, Hill truly invested a lot of effort in completing this Lansendel-brand Sun Peacock replica.

Perhaps because he thought of Lansendel while making it, combined with the imprint of the Teraxil Sun God in Hill’s soul sea, and the blessings Lansendel once gave him, the Sun Peacock was made really successfully.

It could even directly use Blazing Fire, and Divine Arts like Rose Radiance.

Hill sighed lightly in his heart... he suddenly realized that the advancing relationship between Shaer and William didn’t seem to be a good thing for him.

Because once this Lady of the Night stopped keeping a tight lip about her beloved, she started heading towards the most troublesome direction for someone in love: attempting to show off her love to everyone she gets along with decently.

Hill couldn’t help but glance at the sky: Celene, why aren’t you down yet?

He didn’t believe that the scheming Mephistopheles could really collaborate fully with Asmodeus to block the joint efforts of Lansendel and Celene.

With just Lansendel, Mephistopheles might still hold on.

Adding Celene... what does the threat of the Lord of Hell even count for?

What Hell Devil wouldn’t run when facing those two together!

Shaer didn’t notice Hill’s restlessness; her attention was fully captured by the couple, unwilling to part, in front of the Magic Tower.

She had seen many goddesses’ wanton lifestyles and had even followed Misnight and Kranvo through the entire Path of Destiny. She was well-versed in mortal ecosystems... Yet someone like Glaysia, who has such status, acting like she’s been soul-snatched, was really new to her.

In Shaer’s heart, even though some goddesses, oh and gods too, might lower themselves, it’s always to achieve some purpose... Like when Cyric and Shuni were competing next to Heim.

Though they acted a bit cheap, it was understandable, right?

With Shaer’s discerning nature, she naturally sensed such intentions. So, although it was a lot of fun, it was a behavior she could understand.

But Glaysia was different.

Her goal was simply to make this man her devoted follower.

Moreover, she wanted the man in front of her to offer her his total love as her subordinate.

Yet her behavior suggested she was telling the mage across from her: ”Stick with me, and you’ll live the good life.”

This overly contradictory behavior was fascinating for Shaer to watch.

Because Shaer was only interested in Toril, she wasn’t too concerned with the unexploitable beings in the Abyss and Hell.

However, Glaysia’s behavior made her can’t help but chuckle, clearly thinking of something interesting.

Of course, this interesting thing was only interesting to her.

Hill gently turned his head, looking at Carpenter, who’s been a bit confused but hadn’t left.

The girl was probably still worried about Russell.

Hill calculated the time: if everything went normally on Russell’s side, it should be wrapping up in about an hour.

So... within the hour, Celene should arrive, right?

Maybe Lansendel could even come along.

On the grand screen, Glaysia, maintaining her last shred of rationality, didn’t say more, instead patiently inviting Rommel to visit the White Tower.

It seemed she knew what was happening and was ready to withdraw... But even knowing her daddy was still fighting intensely, she was still striving to take her beloved lover away.

Hill even suspected that the reason she didn’t disclose the potential downfall of the Sia Tower was related to Fengo, standing solemnly atop the Black Tower.

Of course, Fengo couldn’t do anything to the babbling Glaysia, but killing Rommel for hearing what he shouldn’t was his duty.

Glaysia seemed to genuinely like Rommel, as she wasn’t gambling with his life.

As for Rommel, though unaware of the outside war, Hilbert’s recent info made him intuitively sense something was up.

He definitely wouldn’t choose to go with Glaysia.

Although he had his calculations, he wouldn’t put himself in such a passive position.

So he, with an unyielding expression, declared: ”No, Lady Glaysia, my future belongs to me!

I seek a bright mage’s path, and I believe with my strength, I will eventually stand beside you one day!

I absolutely won’t enter the White Tower now, becoming... a laughingstock!”

Giving up on pondering Shaer’s target, Hill couldn’t help but let out a hearty laugh.

”Seems like you and William don’t really fancy this Mr. Draculus,” Shaer chuckled while watching the grand screen.

William seemed to enjoy it more, bringing contagious joy to Shaer.

”But Rommel... who dares to mock my people?” Glaysia gently persuaded, ”My power, is your power!”

Rommel shook his head with a bitter smile: ”When you say that, have you asked your heart?

How can you say something so... false?

I know it’s not true, you know it’s not true, do others need to know whether it is?”

”Wow~” Hill couldn’t help but exclaim, ”Draculus, that’s a bold move!”

Sounded like a scene straight out of those melodramas from the Undead Tribe, even the tone was exactly the same.

Tsk, looks like Draculus has been watching plenty.

Hehe~
