Surviving The Fourth Calamity

As Rommel expected, Hill was very unhappy right now.

He knew more than Draculus, so he understood better that the reason the Succubus Queen would target the Treants was only one: to capture elves and make them the lowest-level succubi.

The Dam Treemen, because of their large canopies, mainly protect the juvenile elves in larger settlements.

Although elves have many annoying traits, when they encounter a life-or-death crisis, they will definitely choose to place the juvenile elves in the safest place.

So, the fall of every such powerful millennium Dam Treeman... ordinary Dam Treemen are simply resistant to magic flames to some extent, not completely unburnable... signifies the total annihilation of an elf kingdom in some great forest.

And their fate lies not in returning to Coron’s Divine Kingdom.

But being imprisoned in the most debauched succubus bodies, watching their bodies turn into ugly devils, watching themselves...

Damn it, Hill didn’t want to continue thinking about it.

Although he wasn’t that close to the elves and treated those seeking their own death with indifference, it didn’t mean Hill was unmoved by such tragedies.

Foolishness from distant relatives would make him mock them, stupidity would make him retaliate, but crimes committed against them could still ignite Hill’s inner rage.

He stared at Glaysia on the gigantic screen... Although some matters might play into Draculus’s hands, Hill indeed loathed this Princess of Hell from the bottom of his heart.

Although he couldn’t kill her, but!

Forcing her back into her palace, not emerging for thousands of years, seemed fair enough!

Hill knew that whatever he did, it needed to be reasonable... just like in Toril, he could charge out against Talos because that guy wasn’t just impersonating the Chief Orc God, but indeed had nefarious intentions and actions against Teraxil.

No one could stop his vengeance.

In this world, he was much more constrained.

Indeed, he understood that everything Asmodeus did was actually in preparation for devouring Teraxil.

But, he had no evidence.

”It could be possible,” such a thing is only a free excuse for the most powerful without scruples.

Those with equal or even inferior power but with backing can only strive to find evidence and then retaliate.

But Hill couldn’t really wait for Asmodeus to make a move against Teraxil before resisting, could he?

He came to resolve the impending danger to his family, not to gather incriminating evidence against the Lord of Hell!

So Hill could only hide here miserably, unable to do anything even knowing he was safe.

In this world, the protagonists are the contests between Asmodeus and the will of Styx, and as a descendant of the World Tree, with elven bloodline, he had no qualification to interfere.

Stirring trouble between them was fine, killing some devils he disliked was also fine, but actively targeting Glaysia or Fengo... with his status, would just be seeking trouble.

Asmodeus could completely use his actions to chat with the World Tree... even though both sides knew about Teraxil’s matters, but before the Lord of Hell acted, it was the fault of the World Tree Pantheon.

Of course, Asmodeus would gain no explicit benefit, but just thinking that the World Tree would have to say something like ”it’s just the kids fooling around,” Hill could only bind his own hands.

A person who overthinks like him couldn’t live as carefree as a fool like the Elven God King.

Yet he really couldn’t do as that fool, waiting for his father to clean up after him.

Of course Hill felt aggrieved, but what could he do?

He had gained so much, he couldn’t refuse to pay even a bit of patience.

Glaysia appearing at this time, was indeed fortuitous.

Even Asmodeus wouldn’t so openly provide evidence of destroying an elf kingdom in front of Coron and the Elf Deity System.

Not to mention she didn’t know Hill existed.

When Lansendel’s Dawn Elect secretly entered this world, no one knew if other existences were hidden here.

Glaysia brazenly presented what she had done as evidence under everyone’s watchful eyes.

Wait... Hill suddenly furrowed his brows.

Was she fishing?

Fishing for someone like Hill, a potential fish related to Teraxil?

After all, the identity of the Teraxil Goddess of the Earth was no secret, and although Teraxil people claimed to be humans, they were also known to be connected to elves.

No, Hill suddenly realized... Glaysia was testing whether Rommel’s identity was different.

This Princess of Hell, though capricious, was not entirely incompetent.

Her previous indifference wasn’t because she didn’t care about Rommel’s identity... all she ever wanted was a fleeting pleasure, not a lifelong companion.

Perhaps by the time she left this world, her interest had already waned!

At that time, when she returned to Hell, she certainly wouldn’t care about a little lover.

But Rommel has never been swayed by those materials, and if Glaysia wants to keep him, she must put in extra effort.

For the greedy and selfish Succubus Queen, even making her lift a few more of her noble fingers is a precious and arduous sacrifice.

Therefore, Rommel, who compels her to do so, must undergo an identity verification.

Glaysia is clearly considering taking Rommel back to Hell, so she has to focus on where exactly Rommel comes from.

Rommel’s dedication to Alchemy is impossible to hide... Draculus is very aware that even seeing slight differences in Alchemy from what he knows would draw his attention.

So he doesn’t bother to conceal this interest and even exaggerates it a bit more.

If Rommel truly comes from Teraxil or some Kind Alignment of the Natural Divine System, then when he learns how much bloodshed this bonsai represents, he absolutely wouldn’t be unfazed.

Even a slight tremble of his hands or blinking a few more times would raise suspicion in the doubtful Glaysia.

However, standing there is Draculus.

Not to mention that ever since he left Teraxil and devoted himself to the grand undertaking of revenge, he may not even know the significance of Dam Trees... or even if he does, what does it have to do with him?

If it has nothing to do with his purposes, he can calmly watch tens of thousands of people die before his eyes without any reaction, being in absolute neutrality.

The life and death of Elves, what does it have to do with him?

Knowing how many good things there are, yet not taking action is his greatest mercy.

Draculus even happily buys these precious materials from those who do take action.

On screen, Glaysia is visibly pleased... Whatever issues Rommel may have, at least knowing he’s not from the Kind Alignment satisfies her.

It’s unfortunate that the noble Princess of Hell likely doesn’t realize that an Avenger from absolute neutrality is the most terrifying existence.

The Kind Alignment will indeed resolutely oppose all her actions and sacrifice themselves for it... Of course, Glaysia thought of verifying Rommel’s identity because her palace had exploded multiple times before due to similar events.

People from the Kind Alignment have very low tolerance.

Thus, no matter how noble their intentions were when entering Hell, after staying in Glaysia’s court for a while, they can’t accept what they see.

For many who adhere to kindness, when faced with either having to switch to the same Faction or ending their own life, choosing the latter is only natural.

Even if their Divine Soul is obliterated, it’s better than soul corruption.

Glaysia probably doesn’t want to repair her Succubus palace again.

But absolute neutrality?

As long as they can fulfill their goals, even if they commit evil themselves, their Faction won’t deviate... they are, after all, those standing on that precarious tightrope between kindness and evil.

No one understands swaying better than them.

Hill lightly moved his fingers, although Glaysia’s target wasn’t him, today the person most affected was indeed him.

Even if Asmodier himself were to be present, he couldn’t argue that Hill’s revenge on Glaysia was misplaced.

Hill endures for the existence behind him, yet this existence also allows him to exact revenge with impunity.

This can be considered as seeking benevolence and achieving it, haha~

Hill suddenly calmed down as the various discontented emotions churned within him were about to find an outlet.

Seeing the comical scene on screen where someone wants to get close while another wants to avoid, Hill surprisingly doesn’t feel like indulging in laughter.

Amidst the boiling desire, he finally found inner peace.

Hill chuckled softly.

He knows the most bothersome aspect of Sia Tower is the pervasive dust of desire.

The reason why outsiders at Sia Tower often can’t hide their thoughts and emotions is because these particles amplify their innermost feelings.

Even the desire to cause Sia Tower’s collapse is a form of desire.

No matter how composed a person is, if their heart holds too much desire, they might act on small ideas.

This naturally exposes their identities.

Various Magic Towers are unaware of the truth, which is why they somewhat feel that Sia Tower’s surveillance is incredibly strong.

But in Hill’s view, the surveillance strength is just that... All the devil’s skills, whether it be Magic Arrays or making Strange Objects, are quite rigid.

Their strength comes from living long enough and having outstanding Intelligence.

But they have almost no creativity.

The devil is not an angel.

What Asmodier and his Battle Angels can achieve, no devil can, no matter how high their Level.

Of course, Glaysia’s mixed blood might show some half-baked creativity also... forget it, this is still abnormal.
