Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Hill nodded happily, ”I’ll tell you more over time, but for now, put away that Magic Tower.

It’s meant for Russell to use later.

It’s always best to build your own Magic Tower; after all, there are enough resources in the half-plane for him to learn gradually.”

List cast a glance at the two deities hanging upon Hill, clearly floating in mid-air... he could somewhat guess why Hill was so eager to return to the Magic Tower.

Thus, he promptly turned and opened the door of the Magic Tower.

Hill swiftly floated back to his home.

The suspended Russell felt a bit dazed... he saw the little whale in the light ord opening its mouth wide and swallowing their gray-purple tower!

Russell knew this must be an illusion... that whale light ord was clearly a soul creature, this was something he was certain of.

Teacher Hill... though Hill hadn’t formally introduced himself to them yet, Russell had overheard the deities addressing him that way... they had long asked the two of them to correctly identify soul creatures.

Especially in determining whether they are good or evil, living or dead.

Of course, what soul creatures refer to as ’living’ isn’t truly living, they have merely lost their physical bodies but maintained their souls through special means... most of these special means are associated with positive energy.

Therefore, these soul creatures can stay true to their pre-existing factions.

But evil creatures wouldn’t be accepted by positive energy, so if only their souls remain, they would inevitably become undead.

Furthermore, many creatures unexpectedly turn into undead due to various environments and circumstances... you don’t need to consider their true nature, just focus on how they were formed.

Russell understood why Teacher Hill was so vigilant about this once Gilbert appeared.

Their future will definitely involve dealing with these soul creatures, especially undead... so they need to understand those transformed into undead due to the presence of deities.

Thinking about this, Russell couldn’t help but let out a sigh.

He’s actually quite tired too.

However, in his study, although a book disappears after he completes it, another book always replaces it!

After all this time, his bookshelf remains packed... the books he’s copied himself can only exist in cabinets, unable to fit in the towering three-sided Great Library.

Russell looked dejectedly at the grand hall before him, which clearly differed in capacity from the Magic Tower’s exterior... how was this even achieved?

He’s aware that these things, he must learn eventually.

Yet at the moment, he couldn’t even discern what type of spell or materials were used... this means it’s another new area of study.

Despite his innate curiosity and courage in exploring the unknown, Russell still felt some discomfort in his stomach... his spirit seemed to be crying.

Carpenter didn’t have as many thoughts as her brother, she was engrossed in observing the nearby scenery... although this hall appeared vacant, clearly not meant for hosting outsiders, it was still exquisite and magnificent.

The magnificence lies in the omnipresent murals and engravings, in the vivid colors, rather than the environment itself conveying that impression.

Carpenter, who had started to learn how to perceive beauty, felt a singular sensation: this is nature’s beauty.

Although the murals and engravings depicted people and objects, all remarkably lifelike, they seemed to blend perfectly with the surroundings.

Although Carpenter wasn’t certain whether these scenes were created by their teacher... based on her teacher’s usual style, it probably wouldn’t be otherwise.

Carpenter sighed silently... only such a versatile and brilliant teacher would think Russell wasn’t dazzling enough!

The little girl, although understanding her own limitations early on, felt somewhat melancholic at this moment... she didn’t dare to hope to be as powerful as Russell in the future, but at the very least, she wished to be comparable to the average talents from other worlds.

At least, she hoped her hard work and diligence could allow her to keep pace with the main group.

Hill looked around and pointed at the two children, telling List, ”Take them to the fourth floor, and arrange two Advanced Life Puppets to follow them.

The Great Library on the fifth floor, open it directly to them.

Let them spend three hours daily in the half-plane, practicing alchemy magic or any kind of art at their leisure.

Oh, Carpenter hasn’t seen many real animals and plants, arrange a combat puppet to accompany her for more observation.”

Although the animals Hill collected in the half-plane wouldn’t harm Carpenter, many of them have a higher level and might not know how to interact with someone as unassuming as Carpenter.

They might just want to play a prank, but a single swipe could endanger Carpenter’s life.

So, it’s necessary to prepare some form of protection for this girl.

List understood Hill’s intentions, nodding straightforwardly... Carpenter and Russell suddenly realized they seemed to have moved to a different place.

The two children curiously looked around for a while, realizing that they were in the residential area... The Magic Tower can actually move positions without the need for an energy ladder or casting spells?

Whether everyone can do this or only the Tower Spirit can... Russell and Carpenter understood the significance of this name.

Then they were a bit surprised to find that this residential area was completely different from what they had before.

They were in a small round hall with three doors.

The larger double doors should be the exit.

The other two doors are probably where they would stay.

Then Russell and Carpenter noticed that standing before the double doors were two people: a handsome gentleman in a blue-and-white uniform, and a beautiful lady in a black-and-white long dress... although they couldn’t tell what they were, they could discern they were certainly not human.

”Mr. Russell, I am Scopi, responsible for your daily life here.” The platinum-haired man stepped forward and bowed respectfully.

”Miss Carpenter, I am Natal, responsible for your daily life here.”

”Now, Mr. Russell, Miss Carpenter, please choose your rooms,” Scopi added another sentence.

Russell did not hesitate, directly walking toward the door on his side.

As soon as he pushed open the door, a line of beautiful floral script appeared on it: Russell’s room.

Carpenter hesitated for a moment before turning back to push open the door on her side.

The two students walked into their rooms, experiencing an enormous shock... No wonder it was unlike the past Magic Tower, with many functional rooms on both sides.

Here, they no longer needed to share a study or meditation chamber.

Although, because Teacher Hill’s students were only the two of them, the meditation chamber was enough for them... But in the previous Magic Tower, their bedrooms were just bedrooms.

The rooms in the corridor were there for them to use, but ultimately, they were public.

Having rooms like Russell and Carpenter’s, with a fully functional bathroom, a small reception room, and a small study, was already unimaginable.

However, what appeared before Russell and Carpenter now was almost equivalent to the cluster of rooms on a previous corridor, and even the lounge they were standing in could rival the reception hall of past Magic Towers!

Russell suddenly had a feeling... it was understandable why their teacher was never satisfied with anything.

-----------------

After entrusting the two students to List, Hill carried his trinkets directly back to the top floor of the Magic Tower... He didn’t have the ability to teleport with the two of them in his Magic Tower.

He could only take the floating elevator.

Exiting the elevator, Hill couldn’t help but nod in satisfaction... List had completely transformed the room outside the elevator into a viewing garden.

His study and bedroom were hidden behind the wall on the same side as the floating elevator, and remaining was a spacious hall with balconies on three sides... Between the balconies and the hall were glass steel walls that were hard but could be opened like windows.

Beautiful and delicate white curtains were neatly knotted, and on the seemingly unguarded balconies, the Lily of the Valley, Windmill Jasmine, and Murderous Vine had already spread themselves out.

A peaceful fragrance wafted through the air, calming the mood... Windmill Jasmine and Lily of the Valley seemed to have agreed to blend together into a particularly serene aroma.

In the spacious hall, apart from the giant screens on either side of the elevator, there were only a few distinctly separated sofa seats.

The decorations were exquisite, but they were conspicuously lonely.

It was entirely thanks to various types of openwork low cabinets... adorned with all sorts of flowers... that the sense of desolation was masked.

Hill couldn’t resist chuckling: ”List is the best~ I don’t know what I would do without you~”

And then, amid the complaints of the Tower Spirit... What nonsense are you talking about? Aren’t we just reunited? Besides Mr. Mouth what else... He cheerfully placed the trinkets on his shoulders on the two farthest seats.

Hill sighed lightly, glanced at the small fountain set in the middle, and decisively sat on Shaer’s side.

He stared at the other side, lost in thought for a while, before slowly saying: ”List, I recall there are plenty of Moonlight Roses in the half-plane?”

List immediately understood Hill’s meaning: Celene will come too: ”Shall I make a rose flower wall for that empty seat?”

”Yes.” Hill nodded, ”I think it’s best to make it a little harder for them to see each other’s faces.”

Although the layout of this semi-circular hall wouldn’t really obscure anyone... it would require some maneuvering.

This would avoid many impulsive words.

If anyone really wanted to speak to someone, Hill couldn’t stop them.

The only thing he could do was use his body to block Shaer, who liked to stir things up.
