Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Russell was still a bit puzzled: ”Teacher, this kind of fruit, if it can work even when fed to outsiders at will, wouldn’t that be a bad thing for that deity?”

Born into a noble family and always accompanied by the Mage Carpenter, Russell was well aware that there were always women willing to trade power for beauty.

It’s not to please any man, but because they themselves are crazily pursuing their own beauty.

If that deity named Lansendel doesn’t pay attention to this... then even if he belongs to the Kind Alignment, wouldn’t he have already been tormented by endless curses into the realm of evil?

The stronger those women forced to take such potions become, doesn’t their curse power increase?

Russell believed that no involuntary woman would be grateful for the existence of this fruit... even if they are indeed saved in the future by their crazily soaring strength.

They would only blame all the crises they encountered on the existence of this fruit.

And then resolutely continue to curse that deity... No matter how mighty or insane the deity is, it’s likely there wouldn’t be any chance of exemption.

When women go mad, what business is it of the deities?

Whether it’s the Tower of Dark Enigma or Sia Tower, the presence of the most mad women is highest!

Hill looked at Russell, whose face was heavy, and couldn’t help but chuckle: ”He truly wasn’t guarded against this at first, so he caused quite a fuss.

But he’s mighty with Divine Power, so he’s still able to rectify the losses caused by his carelessness.

Those unlucky ones... how to put it... those who could obtain such fruit from his Chosen are basically very powerful existences.

The ones they pit against are surely of similar rank.

So, despite creating some chaos, it hasn’t affected the mortal world.

The most unlucky was merely a Lower Rank Divine Power, a Goddess whose relationship with All Gods isn’t very good.

Aside from her, the others involved mostly regained their appearances.

Moreover, Lansendel hadn’t reclaimed their powers.

Though they suffered a bit, the compensation is already quite decent.

Besides Lansendel, what other deity would compensate victims for their mistakes?

To restore these people to their original state is the greatest kindness from a deity.

Even for that, they need the most sincere respect from those people.”

Russell was completely unfazed by the latter words, his eyes brimming with curiosity... about that unfortunate Goddess who never regained her appearance.

Hill thought about the Goddess of Misfortune Benshasha, hiding in the Bottomless Abyss, continuously cursing Lansendel and the Goddess of Poison and Disease Talona who fed her that fruit.

She was once a stunningly beautiful woman but after offending Benshasha, she indirectly realized her strength skyrocketing, capable of directly suppressing her most hated abusive Goddess Loweta dream.

However, at this time, Talona could only use a face full of tattoos to hide the reality of becoming an ugly old woman.

She can grow old, but absolutely cannot let anyone discover her ugliness.

So whenever she appeared in the world, she was an elderly, tattooed face with no skin exposed apart from those fierce eyes.

No choice, Lansendel indeed compensated those women harmed by his unintentional actions, yet he hasn’t been kind enough to treat even the Evil God in the Bottomless Abyss equally.

Most importantly, he had just offended Benshasha, so it’s even more unlikely for him at this moment to lend a hand to the Evil God cursed by Benshasha.

If Talos were still under Shaer’s command and demonstrated loyalty, she might pay a certain price for the Goddess of Darkness to utter a word... But since she has clearly shown an inclination to follow the resurrected Bane again, even the most foolish existence wouldn’t think she still has any hope.

Shaer would only think Lansendel is delusional, why nurture potential for enemies’ strength, and promptly strip her newly acquired power away.

Thinking of this, Hill couldn’t help but shake his head and laugh: ”Your power isn’t enough to know the secrets among these deities.

If you were to meet her, and she discovered you understand the true situation of her face.

You would die miserably, possibly implicating your family, your world.

Even if I could save you, by the time I find out, it’d likely be very difficult to save anything.

Dead is dead.

Even Lansendel, who compensates victims, wouldn’t care about the matters of the dead, you understand?

Only those who survive have the qualification to receive compensation.”

Russell immediately straightened his body, answering solemnly: ”I understand, teacher.

I will definitely be careful not to interfere with matters I’m not qualified to touch.”

Hill nodded with satisfaction.

Russell is different from him.

Even if he knows more, no deity would find anything abnormal... Although Hill presents himself as a Mage, he knows very clearly that all deities he’s in contact with consider him a divine existence.

He’s one of their own, not a mortal invading divine privacy.

Even deities of the Evil Faction are the same.

When dealing with Hill, they naturally connect him and the various God Systems behind him to gauge his trouble level, rather than treating him as a wandering Mage out adventuring.

They won’t fuss about little things with Hill.

After all, dealing with him would require too great a cost... Of course, if Hill himself wasn’t that powerful, then killing him wouldn’t be much of a loss.

Have the offspring of the World Tree never died?

The first to be resurrected in the Styx, losing all previous memories and everything except his Divine Soul, the Envoy of the Styx, is the World Tree’s own son.

Although his presence isn’t significant, the ability of the Styx tributaries that resemble tree roots, allowing various Styx creatures to naturally propagate, comes from him.

Hill smiled at Russell: ”But your focus on this matter isn’t wrong.

The current Dawn Fruit has restrictions; only those who are willing can consume it.”

Russell blinked... His mind was a bit overloaded.

He finally spoke slowly: ”Aislin?”

Hill nodded in appreciation... A child who doesn’t need much explanation—truly exceptional.

At least Russell understood why Delphus was unaware, yet could consume the Dawn Fruit.

But he still thought too little.

However, this isn’t Russell’s fault... Hill wouldn’t think less of him for a young man’s limited experience.

When Hill first stepped out of the Ivory Tower, he too could only rely on his rudimentary understanding to perceive the world.

If it weren’t for a strong foundation, he’d be doomed... Even while creating plans, he could’ve been scapegoated.

So, he was pleased that Russell was willing to think independently rather than bringing all his questions to Hill.

A student who dares to express his conclusion and asks the teacher where he’s gone wrong is bound to have a bright future.

Of course, it’s also because Hill raised him well... A satisfied Hill was quite happy.

”Delphus should naturally be a Dual Soul as One,” Hill said softly, ”Here, Dual Souls refers not to two souls, but to a shared soul, a shared Mental Sea, born with two wills.

Strong Divine Power’s restrictions can’t be bypassed using such methods.”

Only someone who is inherently Delphus can make decisions.

However, Delphus’s other soul should be quite weak.

If not for someone’s help, when Delphus became a Mid-level Magician, the outcome for that half-soul could only be being absorbed as nourishment by the other self.

Otherwise, Delphus wouldn’t be entirely unaware of its existence.”

Hill couldn’t help but smile and shake his head: ”He wasn’t sent to Sia Tower because of losing a power struggle.

His fate was decided the instant his Dual Souls were discovered after his birth.

No wonder, I always felt something was amiss.

A Deputy Tower Master, one capable of competing with the Tower Master, how could the losses he caused be so minimal?

Moreover, his existence made it difficult for the Defense Tower to achieve a mutual destruction goal.

A true traitor, causing so much trouble, how could they suddenly have a change of heart and accompany everyone to the Styx?

Heh~

Forget it, I won’t fuss with Delphus.”

A child conned from the start, no—perhaps even his birth was meticulously plotted, isn’t it normal for him to grow crooked?

Delphus always behaves as if everyone’s out to get him; now Hill feels he can understand.

It’s likely, in the embryo stage, he felt constant dangers everywhere.

Such a person, staying for a long time in a place like Sia Tower, sees only his own existence; it’s too normal.

Besides, possibly due to the adversarial relationship between the Dual Souls, Delphus exhibits some signs of cerebral hypoxia, which isn’t surprising.

The other half-soul must have some issues as well.

However, his own feelings are likely confused, so ultimately, he acts according to what has been instilled in his will.

Hill looked at the restless Delphus on the sofa, agitated knowing he’ll surely become uglier, and sighed softly.

It seems all of this is due to his own choices... If Delphus hadn’t been tempted, these plans of the Defense Tower couldn’t have started at all.

They would have had to find another way.

However, how could a flawed soul withstand the greedy Halo of the Succubus Queen?

When he couldn’t suppress his desires and took the first step, his fate could no longer be his own.

But Hill also knew, without these measures, Delphus wouldn’t be able to become today’s Ninth Ring Archmage at all.

No, he might not even have come into existence.

No wonder the Defense Tower’s Deputy Tower Master has such a child in such a powerful affiliated family.
