Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Mephistopheles?

Hill blinked.

Did that guy really stick around outside just to watch the drama after sending Draculus in?

Though there is a time difference between inside and outside, it wasn’t exactly short!

Although Hill had long known that Mephistopheles had a great interest in Asmodeus... to be honest, he seemed more concerned with the Lord of Hell than even Bisozeya.

But to squat outside a small world, watching with relish for so many years...

If this isn’t love, then what is?

Bear in mind, Asmodeus hasn’t appeared in this world that often.

However, Hill could guess that the reason Mephistopheles chose to help Asmodeus intercept Lansendel was related to not wanting to reveal who he sent into this world.

He would rather be the muscle than expose Draculus.

As long as he could add a bit of trouble to Asmodeus’s future, Mephistopheles would willingly endure humiliation.

Moreover, Asmodeus might have hinted at some beautiful future... even if it wasn’t about attacking the Heavenly Mountain, just mentioning making those Gods of Order feel the power of Hell would make Mephistopheles very brave.

Hell Devils and Abyssal Demons actually believed a rumor... their bloodshed’s origin was a conspiracy of the God of Order.

Hill didn’t know if this was true, but for Asmodeus, this rumor was very favorable, so he probably spiced it up a bit.

However, honestly speaking, the most unruly types among the Abyssal Demons, when they charge out of the Abyss, encounter the most despicable, ruthless Hell Devils... and then it turns out that both sides have members of their respective royalty involved, it’s indeed curious.

It could be said that destiny brought them together, that Hell and the Abyss do not deserve to have such strong power structures.

However, destiny never intervenes directly, it merely hints at those who can accomplish it, on how to eliminate their strongest enemies.

The later flourishing of the Heavenly Mountain, absorbing numerous powerful deities from various worlds, was because Hell and the Abyss could no longer rely on their own power to rush into the Heavenly Mountain and kill wantonly!

Celene’s rules actually conform well to the undercurrents of the multiverse... the vested interests, inevitably acting.

”It seems you know why Mephistopheles is here?” Shaer’s leisurely tone was full of certainty.

Hill couldn’t help but reach out and touch his face... Did he just blink his eyes without much change in expression?

”You haven’t forgotten who I am, have you, little Hill?” Shaer, seeing his small gesture, had a hint of amusement in her question.

Her followers are the best at hiding their thoughts and concealing their expressions in the whole of Toril.

And yet those who can deceive many strong beings and deities to their death without knowing whose hands they’re dying by, none can escape her eyes.

Compared to them, Hill seemed like an uninformed child, laughing loudly.

Hill smiled sheepishly.

It wasn’t that he forgot how good Shaer, the leader of the Shadow Assassins and Spies, was at discerning hearts, it’s just that he overestimated himself... thinking he truly had a poker face!

Turns out, his little skill is nothing in front of real experts.

Hill pointed to the other massive screen showing the seemingly motionless Magic Tower: ”That’s Draculus.

Is William by your side?

He knows who this is.

He was discovered by Mephistopheles while clearing traitors in those other devil worlds beyond the various Teraxils, and then sent in here.

He arrived in this world even earlier than I did.

Hmm~ This is a newborn world not yet in its mature phase, so time flows quite quickly.”

Shaer’s eyes flashed with a mysterious light.

Clearly, her main body is indeed entangled with William... tsk, although not envious, there’s a bit of acidity!

”Oh~” Shaer snapped back quickly... the way deities’ avatars operate is enviable, as long as the network isn’t cut, they’re basically synchronized, with consistent download speeds.

They don’t have to upload to the main server first and then download one by one... an avatar like the one Glaysia has belongs to this category.

The server allows her to download what she can possess.

Hmm?

Hill’s head snapped back, even forgetting his conversation with Shaer... No, can’t be?

Outside, there’s a fierce battle going on, Glaysia.

Your own father is still in there!

Even if there’s no real emotion, for the one who could change your future from joy to gloom at the snap of a finger, shouldn’t you show a bit of respect?

”Are you really going to find a pretty boy at a time like this?”

”Glaysia... truly astonishing!”

”What’s wrong?” Shaer didn’t feel there was anything amiss with Hill’s sudden change of direction mid-sentence.

Of course, if it was one of her followers who dared to do this, it would be courting death.

But Hill wasn’t her subordinate.

Moreover, she kind of understood this child... despite even so much contact with the Undead Tribe, Hill could still maintain the etiquette he should have.

It’s truly difficult.

The creatures over there in Toril are deeply influenced by the Undead Tribe.

Not to mention those little fairies who are inherently lawless or the inherently crude and brainless giant dragons, even the elves of Agleya, when speaking now, are terrifyingly direct.

Luckily, only the creatures of Agleya and its affiliated regions have enough deep contact with this group of people.

People from other places, even if they show goodwill, are often ignored by the Undead Tribe... In William’s words, static neutrality and a faint red hue are seen as the most useless beings to the Undead Tribe.

Neither killing them yields any benefits, so who wants to waste words on them?

Quarreling is fine... but generally, William doesn’t let the Undead Tribe go overboard.

After all, if that happens, the Undead Tribe is likely to use this functionality to their advantage to procure a troublesome individual they can kill.

Toril itself is such a world, where the supposed multitude of humans is actually pitifully small against the backdrop of endless wilderness.

Therefore, William doesn’t wish for his existence to be a threat to those pitiable people.

Shaer smiled softly... respecting all lives that should be respected, and not considering all evils as beings that shouldn’t exist just because one is on the side of justice and kindness. Such a William is the true Lord of Justice.

Does only a kind alignment need justice and fairness?

Shaer used to look down on those deities of the kind alignment for this reason... You can kill someone because they committed a crime, but you can’t take their life just because they might commit crime.

Although it was this kind of rigid behavior that allowed her to expand effortlessly everywhere... of course, more due to using violence to counter violence.

But Shaer still looked down on those who couldn’t even figure out their own divinity.

Then Hill’s words snapped Shaer out from her unique gentleness: ”Glaysia has been pursuing the Rommel Mage disguised by Draculus for a long time already.

She is extremely passionate.”

On the huge screen, Glaysia has already appeared outside the Rommel Magic Tower... dressed in a way that perfectly matches her image as the Princess of Hell.

Perhaps some traits recently exhibited by Rommel inspired her. Although clearly prepared for her return to Hell, Glaysia didn’t wear the standard attire of the Succubus Queen... those few strands of string, but rather donned a uniform-style long dress more in line with Bisozeya’s taste: a form-fitting uniform on the upper body conducive for action, with a seemingly layered ankle-length dress below, though in reality, the skirt was split into two parts allowing her free movement.

It’s just that Bisozeya preferred blood red, and after breaking free from her mother’s control, Glaysia no longer wears red and black.

This time, although the bouquet she carried was still that lush and vibrant, there were three Moonlight Roses in it, matching the color of her long dress.

Arriving in front of the Magic Tower, Glaysia called out coyly: ”Dearest Rommel~ Won’t you come out to greet me?”

Shaer’s eyes widened, a rare shocked expression appeared on the Lady of the Night’s face... Glaysia’s coquettish voice seems to have given her a huge shock.

”What is this?” Shaer hesitantly asked, ”Really, Glaysia?”

The Succubus Queen in her impression wasn’t like this.

Shaer was more familiar with the Succubus Queen who acted recklessly amidst revelry and rampant desires... Her disregard for feelings was because she understood those things all too well.

She had seen quite a bit.

After all, she nearly made that feline goddess who loves to toy with dark lust her own aspect back then!

Hill took a deep breath, then nodded with the most certain tone: ”Glaysia would behave somewhat unrealistically when she is immersed in love.

But, she should be just like this, with her Great Devil and Fengo beside her, no one believes she could be possessed.”

Her personal manager, that’s the devil who originally stood beside Aislin and then suddenly escaped.

The Lady of the Night certainly had a deeper understanding of creatures in the dark, so she immediately grasped the meaning in Hill’s words... At this time, there was no one who could stop Glaysia’s madness.

The doors of the Magic Tower on the big screen opened, revealing Rommel’s serious, stern, expressionless face.

Shaer looked in confusion, then turned to look at Hill: ”Why is she interested in Draculus? Clearly, you are more good-looking.”

”The face I’m using now is Gilbert’s, although decent, in this world not considered extraordinary looking.” Hill answered very straightforwardly, ”Rommel, no matter how he conceals it, carries Draculus’s unique style, someone Glaysia might rarely encounter a person like him.

Hmm? What’s wrong?”

Shaer’s expression, for once, showed such obvious change.

”William, seems delighted.”
