Surviving The Fourth Calamity

As for whether the burning Blazing Fire will draw Lansendel over, that’s even less Rosero’s concern.

For him, as soon as Lansendel appears, swiftly fleeing is his right as a Duke of Demons.

Among the countless rules that circulate in Hell, not one forbids demons from dropping all resistance and fleeing the moment the Lord of Dawn appears.

Compared to the nonexistent dignity for demons, avoiding drawing Lansendel’s gaze into Hell is the most crucial task for them.

Rosero gently straightened his robe, checked his shoes... he had to soar into the sky at the moment the Lord of Dawn appeared, before that avatar of Glaysia announced who she was.

It’s better to take a loop around other worlds first.

Even though ”Aislin” had hinted at Rosero’s true identity through various means, she indeed still carried the name Aislin, which was Rosero’s greatest opportunity.

Demons are meant to serve their master to the death... surviving after a desperate fight depends on how well-prepared their subordinates are.

But a master who doesn’t reveal their identity, who doesn’t command with the bearing of a lord, at certain moments, can be treated as non-existent.

Even though Rosero also knew that, in case the sliver of Glaysia’s soul returned to the original, his future wouldn’t be great either.

But... it wouldn’t be fatal.

Glaysia can still be quite reasonable on this aspect.

As long as the words are eloquent enough, the reasoning semi-valid, after tormenting Rosero for hundreds or thousands of years, she would still employ him once more.

After all, Rosero doesn’t think there’s a more suitable choice for a chief steward in Glaysia’s Succubus Palace... What demon with such abilities would mix with this Princess of Hell~

Demons like him, who just want to coast and have no ambition for great undertakings, are few indeed!

Rosero mulled over his strategies once more, confidently clenched his fist: ultimately, he could escape alive.

-------------

Delphus thought for a while and still decided to follow Aislin’s orders.

After all, he had not made any backups in this place.

His trusted subordinates and followers were far away, even if Glaysia came personally to fight, it wouldn’t affect there.

As for his own life... even though doing so would leave him unrecognizable, and his strength would never improve, compared to this awkward situation, it might suit him better.

The corner of Delphus’s mouth drew a sharp line, his fingers twitched slightly, and a massive diamond instantly appeared in his hand.

Aislin snorted coldly, ”Knew you’d keep it nearby... ha, am I supposed to fear this thing?”

Right then, Rosero, feeling the depth of horror from the Princess of Hell behind her, couldn’t hold back his astonishment.

Mainly because he could tell Glaysia was sincere.

She truly believed Lansendel wasn’t something to fear.

But that day, the panicked Glaysia was also something Rosero had personally witnessed.

So... at that time, was there something else happening that frightened the Princess so much?

Suddenly recalling how the full moon over the White Tower abruptly shattered, Rosero shivered... could it be that the attack wasn’t from the skies by Asmodeus then, but the will of the Lord of Hell watching everything unfold on the scene?

Rosero, quick-witted, swiftly connected this with those two odd followers reduced to ashes by fire.

Especially the one well-hidden follower, caught by Delphus’ reckless actions.

Indeed, it was after his death that the moon over the White Tower crumbled to dust.

Roaming through his thoughts, Rosero glanced at Aislin, gently shaking his head.

Then he looked with great admiration at Delphus, who was muttering to himself, recharging the diamond... he was exaggerating his sacrifice, attempting to extract another rare Potion of Restoration from Aislin.

One glance less with each look.

This guy, even seeking soul annihilation would be hard.

Delphus, would probably carry all his memories and become a soul worm, then have to experience firsthand being devoured by other worms, bitten and ingested, one mouthful at a time.

Just how fragmented a soul can be, the Lord of Hell surely has much to say.

Rosero sighed regretfully, it’s a pity he definitely won’t witness the whole process.

Having figured this out, he must keep himself away from Fengo’s clutches while his name still lingers in Asmodeus’ mind.

Though Fengo is indeed sharp, he surely wouldn’t seek from him the reasons why the Lord of Hell wants him caught, those fools trying to pull Fengo from his current position do not suffice.

While the Lord of Hell is stern, he doesn’t necessarily have to eliminate these demons privy to certain secrets they shouldn’t know... as long as they don’t treat these secrets as surprises to broadcast.

Even if such broadcasting wasn’t done by their own will, it doesn’t change.

To keep secrets or not is the same in the mind of the Lord of Hell... Uselessness and stupidity do not need to survive.

Therefore, as Rosero watched Delphus raise his hand, he sighed again... As a devil fond of home, who only wanted to stay in safe places enjoying the privileges of a Duke of Demons, why was fate so unpredictable for him?

Then amid the blazing fire and the quickly descending rose-colored radiance from the sky, the white-robed devil directly opened a random portal... He knew that as soon as Lansendel arrived, all of Asmodeus’s barriers would be broken at this moment.

In the instant Aislin turned back in shock wanting to speak, Rosero suddenly leaped into the small Light Gate that allowed only one passage.

However, a rose-colored aura unhesitatingly and recklessly rushed into that gate, ignoring the potential for a major disaster.

”Ah! Someone?” This was Rosero’s last sentence in this world, but it didn’t sound like he was gravely wounded.

His fate depended solely on whether the dimensional passage he entered would explode due to the reckless Light of Dawn crashing into it.

-----------------

”Ah...” Hill, watching the giant screen, was a bit nervous.

He wasn’t worried about Rosero’s life or death, but the impact of Divine Power on this one-time spatial force could easily trigger massive chain explosions.

Random spatial cuts would directly fill an area of hundreds of miles.

If that happened, the small camp exposed by the emergence of the ’Order Jewel’ hidden in the Defense Tower would also be in a very dangerous situation.

Although Hill guessed that these people might have hidden in the former Defense Tower domain, and even though Delphus had prepared those backup plans, which were basically others’ backup plans, he didn’t really expect that someone would play the game of assuming the enemy wouldn’t return to a cleaned-out place anytime soon.

This was because the one responsible for this world, Glaysia, was indeed not that meticulous, and Fengo Xin, who assisted her, was simply not here.

Otherwise, according to Asmodeus’s usual rules, a Hell Prosecutor would certainly come to the Defense Tower for inspection every few years.

But this indeed fit the style of the Dawn Believers... They really like playing games others don’t dare to.

Hill exhaled lightly.

It was unclear whether the Dawn Believers always had such fortunate fate, or if Rosero really wasn’t the kind of devil who had committed atrocious acts causing significant harm to other worlds, but this time, the dimensional gate’s vibration didn’t trigger a chain explosion.

Although, the only regret was that Rosero definitely survived.

But this fleeting regret was not enough to leave any mark in Hill’s mind.

His eyes fixed on the sky above, where the rose-colored radiance came from.

However, even the handsome young man in the camp, who had put on a splendid formal dress and walked out alone from the well-protected camp, started facing off with Delphus and Aislin, yet the rose-colored radiance in the sky still hadn’t turned into the Lord of Dawn.

Hill couldn’t help but frown... Was Asmodeus still entangling?

What was he trying to do?

-----------------

Then his attention was drawn to Aislin, whose expression was ever-changing.

The bit of panic and the intent to use violent means on the Dawn Believers ahead seemed to be Glaysia’s soul.

Hill kind of understood why she was doing this.

She was deliberately attracting Asmodeus’s attention.

Her complex situation now was all due to Glaysia’s recklessness.

And Asmodeus’s plan of thousands of years was ruined because of Glaysia’s carelessness and the distraction.

Then, a soul, as strange as hers, mixed with human will and divine will, might very well be retained by the Lord of Hell as a punishment for his daughter.

Although doing so, she would only ever become permanently two-fifths, at least she would still be herself.

Furthermore, Asmodeus would certainly give this body they shared a decent identity... At least one Glaysia couldn’t casually abuse and kill.

The Princess of Hell wouldn’t care whether there was another version of herself among her wantonly slaughtered targets.

But Aislin, with an official position in Hell, would need a sufficient excuse to kill.

Glaysia’s soul, characteristically Glaysia... She probably didn’t think she’d be afraid of the main soul’s assassins after having enough time to preserve her life.

She had that bit of arrogance, indeed.

Hill nodded... Glaysia wasn’t stupid; she surely knew how to sacrifice others to save her own neck at critical moments.

But, she was too impulsive.

Never caring about what was happening around her nor the consequences, she acted recklessly... She had no idea that Celene was still over there.

If she ignored that detail, her approach might actually have been pretty effective.
