Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Of course, Kashus wouldn’t just do things for allies.

Without sufficient benefits, alliances are meaningless.

This is true even for allies in the Kind Alignment... Without shared interests, helping each other is simply called making friends.

However, Kashus is the only one among the Four Elemental Gods who is very interested in the Prime Material Plane and even willing to respond to certain great ceremonies by his followers.

Therefore, he would certainly be interested in a world that has been disconnected from the Elemental Realm for many years.

He genuinely enjoys developing new territories.

Kashus has a mindset derived from the will of fire: perhaps it’s to burn the whole world.

Just like that fire which, if possible, would never spare any space, burning freely... Its revival from the ashes further proves his nature.

So, if Asmodier chooses to open this world to the Fire Element Deity and allows him to reach in, Kashus might be very interested in coming to this element-deprived world.

Since the two allies have a shared objective, they would likely be in perfect harmony.

There is also a commonality between them, which is strong action capability.

After all, although not well done, character aside, Amanata was the first deity among the Toril Gods to deeply enter the human world.

While other deities were only responding to believers’ prayers, sharing their own joys and sorrows, Amanata had already started managing his followers and setting rules to bind their behavior.

Regardless of how well he did this, he indeed did it first.

And in the following years, he gave other deities a deep warning: believers can be indulged, but it’s best not to get too close, and certainly not to manage too much.

Otherwise, a fool appearing can drag you down with them.

So as long as Asmodier is willing to let go, the two of them must now be above the sun.

Hill is a bit puzzled about how they plan to use Aislin’s existence to participate in terrestrial affairs.

Even with Kashus present, teaming up against Lansendel, and potentially the unexpected intervention of Celene, is basically impossible for them now.

The key is, the fight between the two parties is almost completely meaningless.

They’re both high-temperature warriors. Can anyone focus the main objective on Celene?

Amanata has always disliked the Lord of Dawn dividing his divinity... To be honest, generally speaking, the Light of Dawn also belongs to the sun’s domain.

But in Toril, Lansendel is the local, though he has been affected by some bad external influences.

Amanata, born from the Eternal Fire, is mixed-blood... Blame Celene for choosing the wrong fire.

Thus, Amanata can only secretly plot against Lansendel, rarely openly opposing him.

At most, he would publicly despise him for acting irresponsibly and recklessly as the God of Law.

But now?

If it were the historically revived Amanata, he might have some confidence to fight Lansendel... After all, the disappearance of Tyr allowed him to snatch part of the divinity of law back to himself.

And Lansendel’s serious injury... He was severely damaged not because Amanata tore his body to jump out but because Dawn used its power to bring forth the true sun.

The energies that created Amanata naturally changed ownership.

Even in anger, Lansendel had no choice but to return to his Divine Kingdom to restore these energies through sleep.

However, even after recovery, he can only confront Amanata with cold indifference and cannot do anything against him.

The birth of Amanata within his body created a terrible connection between them.

Even with deep hostility toward each other, they cannot easily take action, nor can they say much to their followers.

Amanata must also publicly declare his gratitude towards Lansendel, completely avoiding the fact that Lansendel originally tried to usurp his divinity.

Indeed, if Lansendel were divided in half, even if he woke up halfway, angry enough to crow, he wouldn’t mention encouraging his followers to declare war on the Sun God Church for his dignity.

Tsk, once thinking about this, one can’t help but think of another unlucky peacock.

It’s true, clearly all are the most hot-blooded tough men, yet they finally became man-mothers.

Hill has always felt that Lansendel holds nothing but goodwill towards him, not solely because he brought the undead tribe who let the Great Peacock’s divine life experience surprise again.

But also because, in some unseen way, Lansendel sensed that Hill did something extremely beneficial for him.

Especially after visiting that chaotic world, Lansendel’s attitude towards Hill and the undead tribe was almost more favorable than towards Coron’s side.

Although no one said it, both sides were somewhat aware.

So Hill was so indifferent to Lansendel’s presence... What he understood more was that if he directly expressed a dislike and unwillingness, Lansendel might make some concessions for him.

However, such words, whether from him or Lansendel, will never be publicly uttered.

No matter what form destiny takes now, it’s best not to proclaim the alteration openly; this is common sense.

Hill furrowed his brow, deciding to think less about these matters, and redirected his thoughts back to reality.

Even if he could use Aislin’s native Moon Goddess and the consciousness of that Princess of Hell as an excuse... an excuse only works when one’s strength can truly suppress the other side.

Could it be that Kashus would go all out for such a trivial matter?

Hill didn’t believe it.

Although that fellow was the most intense flame, it should be known that fire borrows the force of the wind.

He would surely never fight desperately when at a disadvantage.

Kashus is one of the absolute neutral beings in the multiverse that gives people the biggest headache... an absolute neutral that has existed longer than beings like Draculus.

Hill gently exhaled... He’s still too young, lacks sufficient experience, so he can’t completely analyze what those cunning old fellows are really up to.

Yet he can’t help but think.

He still wants to continue on his path as a mage, and, once back in Teraxil, he won’t remain indoors forever; hence, he must consider things when they arise... Even if his personality is somewhat bear-like, he shouldn’t really live by acting solely on instinct like a bear, right?

After traversing these worlds, Hill’s understanding of himself has actually become quite accurate and detailed.

The only lingering uncertainty, which he still feels somewhat indifferent about thoroughly understanding, is his entanglement with destiny.

”Teacher.” Carpenter’s query, which interrupted Hillbert’s thoughts veering toward an odd angle, had been watching the gigantic screen all along, ”Does Aislin seem a bit unusual?”

Hillbert hadn’t anticipated Carpenter to discover this so soon... Russell clearly hadn’t realized yet.

His furrowed brow evidently indicated that Aislin seemed overly arrogant and domineering due to relying on Rosero’s influence.

Thus, upon hearing Carpenter’s question, he was a bit surprised, glancing back and forth between the gigantic screen and his sister.

”How did you figure it out?” Hillbert couldn’t help but ask her with a smile.

”What’s most important to Aislin is Archmage Ruth,” Carpenter quietly replied, ”Therefore, although she often behaves foolishly, she absolutely wouldn’t do anything that might harm Archmage Ruth.

Before confirming whether Delphus is destined to die, she wouldn’t speak disrespectfully to a Ninth Ring Archmage wielding such a terrifyingly powerful strange object.

She undoubtedly knows better than anyone how horrifying that thing really is.

That’s a strange object capable of erasing Glaysia’s will from her soul upon appearance!”

Hillbert nodded with satisfaction: After long-term observation of various individuals and matters, Carpenter had progressed significantly in her understanding of human nature and its intricacies.

The words she speaks now can be deemed mature.

Such a Carpenter, even if she embarks on the true path of illusion technique, won’t easily lose herself.

Being a master illusionist, such beings are actually quite formidable.

However, the stronger they become, the more likely they are to perceive their self-created illusory realm as reality... viewing all external elements as intrusive threats to be eradicated.

Hill naturally possesses some illusionist heritage; elves are the ancestral masters of illusory realms.

Mystrian Serlet, the creator of the Mystery Rein Ring, received an inheritance from the God of Mysterious Lock of the elves, and Hill naturally acquired a part after interacting with that imitation ring.

This is the reason he has the confidence to guide Carpenter onto the path of the legendary.

However, before formally teaching her the puzzle lock illusion technique, Carpenter must learn to respect reality, to feel reverence for reality, to comprehend reality.

Be aware that even Mystrian himself, due to temporary carelessness and his absolute self-confidence, was confined to the extent that he couldn’t even escape his Divine Kingdom.

Falling from lower rank divine power to demigod power, which even Marla couldn’t resist.

The now incredibly observant Carpenter could barely meet the basic requirements for learning puzzle lock illusion technique.

Hill retrieved a delicate Mithril book from the ring: ”Carpenter, you can start learning new illusion techniques.

This is the first book, the foundation of this new illusion technique system.

Whenever you understand the contents of this book using your own capability, come to me for the second one.

Of course, if you can’t achieve this, it’s alright... This book is sufficient for you to grow to the Ninth Ring.

You can learn at your own pace, but don’t let it affect your foundation.

My students must never rush for quick success, understood?”

Carpenter’s beautiful eyes sparkled with surprise... She clearly caught the implied meaning in Hill’s words.

If she could understand this book through her own efforts, precisely and progressively, then afterwards, she could claim the title of a student of the teacher.

No longer just a common mage living in the teacher’s Magic Tower!

Although uncertain why the teacher suddenly had this idea, when such an opportunity arises, what more should she consider?
