Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 551: Chapter 350: Radiant Knights Order Preparing to Return Home

The Undead Knights before Hill shouted in unison, their great shields joined together, with the glow of the Earth Element shimmering over them, making it seem not as if a line of men stood before them, but rather a mountain.

Less than ten minutes had passed.

Hill chuckled softly and released the most powerful spell of the Divine Artifact: Scorching Radiance.

A massive golden radiance surged directly toward the location of the Soul Judging Demon’s heart.

”The Sun! Where did it come from?” the Soul Judging Demon bellowed venomously, having failed to dodge and taken a hit to the heart.

The curses of the Demon Language came over, but even if Hill’s spiritual protection hadn’t been enough, the oil painting he held could have blocked all mental attacks for him.

Glancing at the demon nailed to the ground by the golden light, Hill turned and pushed open the grand doors, walking in with the oil painting.

Packing away the Divine Artifact, the spiritual power it required was not small, so it was best for him to keep some distance from the Undead Knights.

This separate space he had moved into was unconnected to the outside world and had no effect on them.

The time was almost up at 10 minutes, and Hill’s best option was to re-enter the hall before putting away the oil painting.

The Undead risked their lives to protect him, and Hill was of course determined not to let them down.

Before Hill put the painting away, he used his spiritual power to recover, otherwise, his Mental Sea really would have been depleted.

Having used the Divine Artifact twice in a row, even Hill, with his large reserve of spiritual power, felt drained.

When he stepped out of the grand doors again, the Undead were cheering and casting their mightiest spells, sparing no expense in their mana as their most powerful spells continuously flew towards the demons.

The Water Mages were extremely delighted, for the first time experiencing what it meant to have their Ice Spells enhanced by 20% amid the icy blizzard, with a 20% increase in casting speed, a 20% reduction in the interval between spells, and a 20% increase in mana recovery speed.

The greatest strength of the Ring of Winter was this ability.

In this environment, the Ice Mages could be considered invincible.

This was only because these Undead were Magisters; had the same enhancement been applied to a Legendary Mage, even Forbidden Spells could have been cast consecutively.

But Hill noticed that nearly all the Priests had stepped forward, releasing the Holy Rain without intending to wait for recovery time.

He sighed softly.

Sure enough, it was not long before cries of ”Hill, give us some mana~” rang out inside and outside the castle walls.

Hill shook his head, reached out his hand to release the Water mist, then the Water of Tranquility.

Letting the mist carry the essence of tranquility engulf the entire castle walls, the haughty Undead continuously recovered mana as they launched their mighty spells.

They had already learned well how to maintain their mana bar length in the Water of Tranquility.

”One hour, don’t get too carried away,” Hill said softly, then flew down from the castle walls amidst cheers, slowly walking toward his home.

Hill didn’t fly back not only because William had restricted flight within the camp, his flight privileges had been restored long ago.

He wanted to observe the reaction of the Radiant Knights Corps as he passed by.

If he went specifically to look, it would be too obvious. Not many members of the Undead stood outside the Knights’ small building to see what they were doing.

Though those guys were obviously recording or live-streaming.

Regardless of how tasty the melon, experience was still most important, with so many ”experience babies” outside the walls enough to make the Undead forsake seeing the outcome of that horse for themselves.

After all, they could fight and watch the live stream simultaneously, there will always be someone wanting to make money.

Hill couldn’t help but smile wryly as he saw the Undead crouching at the corner of the wall, turning themselves into paparazzi.

By now, the Radiant Knights should have realized that these Undead liked to gather around, and likely didn’t care to entertain them.

The seemingly vast Demon Army outside, after their commanding Soul Judging Demon had been killed by Hill, could not hold out for a few more days before fleeing.

If the Undead managed to kill a few legendary leaders, perhaps they wouldn’t even last a day.

Demons did not possess any fierce fighting spirit; they were only worried about being slower than their neighbors.

Hill, in front of a row of low swinging tablets, strolled nonchalantly along the path toward the Mushroom House at the rear.

Although it seemed he was just taking a walk, the Undead probably judged that he was there to watch the commotion, murmurs from the live stream had already started.

The people of the Radiant Knight Corps were not in their buildings.

Instead, they were gathered at the stables.

The knights were clearly in a meeting, and Hill could hear many shouting in anger; they seemed to plan to head back to their garrison as quickly as possible to move house.

But where to move to, there was no consensus.

Not every knight had the courage to trust their families and disciples into the hands of foreigners from another world.

Hill had not lingered but went directly onto the little path, somewhat understanding why William had only permitted him to release the singular power of the Sun.

Whether it was Commander Mason or the two ladies, they had all completely confided everything to their Knight Corps’ members, including Hill’s paintings.

Hill even heard Steven warning those knights not to linger near Hill’s residence unless they wanted to spill all their secrets.

Mason also mentioned that although it was the power of the Sun, unless one had no personal desires at heart, it was best not to associate with Hill.

It seemed that the Radiant Knights Order was indeed a very close-knit group of siblings.

Hill scoffed coldly; if the Radiant Knights Order was as righteous and open as they claimed, they would better ensure that everyone could keep a secret in front of their own family.

Although it might sound like the speech of a jinx, Hill did not believe that these people could manage not to tell their own families why they had to move.

Both William and Hill had already demonstrated ample kindness, and they had been more than generous to them as mere guests.

The rest was up to the Radiant Knights Order themselves now.

If there were still problems, the Radiant Knights Order would only have themselves to blame. Hill did not believe that the spies would not start with their family members.

He hoped that these knights would understand what real secrecy meant.

Hill was somewhat displeased; William’s agreement to let their families and the orphans they adopted into the camp was merely a gesture of goodwill.

The Radiant Knights Order had no place to ask this king to abandon his principles and take hostages.

His ears were sharp; even though those with doubts had lowered their voices, Hill had heard them clearly.

It seemed that in this world, the Radiant Knights Order was indeed a considerable force that could easily invite covetous glances, but it had also caused them to overlook their own stance.

A few dozen Legendary Knights, not a few dozen Legendary Mages.

The Undead Tribe, tens of thousands of them, could be wiped out by one, and now there were tens of millions.

Hill opened the room door and walked in without looking back, hoping despite his overthinking, that the Radiant Knights Order would make the right choice. Hill guessed that just like him, William was thinking about those tens of thousands of orphans the Order had taken in.

One ought to lend a hand to children if one had the capability.

Hill rolled his eyes; a Divine Array combined with the paintings should be enough to snag any spies hiding among them.

But all of it still relied on the Radiant Knights Order’s choice. William was definitely not the kind of nice guy who, after offering a chance, would still beg others to accept it.

Hill guessed right; the grand war concluded anticlimactically.

Probably because no new lord came to take over and two Legendary leaders had been killed, the demons soon scattered and fled.

The Radiant Knights Order lingered for two days beneath the city walls, before going to William to take their leave immediately after the demons retreated.

William agreed promptly.

Although the Radiant Knights Order was summoned by the Will of the Gerns World, in reality, they meant less to William than that fake mare did.

Their arrival merely represented the world’s populace’s acknowledgment of the emergence of the Undead Tribe.

And that spy horse that was brought convinced William of the direction to attack.

Otherwise, logic dictated that the Magic Kingdom would be the last to be targeted, letting the Undead Tribe level up and absorb some more elemental power first.

Spencer, seeing off the Radiant Knights Order, initially tried to retain them since the demons had only been dispersed, not completely annihilated.

They had won easily because the demons did not target humankind.

All demon attention was on the devils; their Great Lord, according to the Radiant Knights Order, should now be in the War God Kingdom.

As expected, a devil daring to call itself the War God really attracted enmity. The other three realms, too, only had half-Demigod level Demon Lords leading their armies, at best a few more in numbers.

For the Bottomless Abyss, a shattered world held no appeal of abundant devil flesh to please Him. This devil, daring to impersonate a deity, if consumed by Him, would indeed allow the worshiping demons to rise to become the lords of a level of the Abyss!

At this time, no Great Demon’s eyes were turned towards humanity.

But low-ranking demons, still preferring human flesh, lacked the intelligence to consider such high-level problems.

The Radiant Knights Order promptly refused; they believed in their companions’ capabilities, convinced that as long as no demigod demons pursued them, even if transporting a bound captive, their horses would surely outrun any demon.

Although Lady Steven could only ride behind the deputy commander, her burden was definitely lighter than that of the captive.

Spencer hadn’t hoped to retain them, smoothly moving to the next step. He requested that they keep secrets until the Knight Corps had made their final decision, including not talking about ’Becky’ even with their own families.

The members of the Radiant Knights Order changed their expressions; they were displeased with Spencer’s implication that their families might not be safe.

Spencer, unconcerned, simply stated, ”Your families will certainly not encounter any problems, but no one can guarantee they won’t slip up with their friends.

Since there are so many spies among the Radiant Knights Order, who knows if someone’s relatives haven’t been already approached?”

Hill felt that Spencer might as well not have spoken; several in the group looked upset, and if not for their commander intervening, they might have started cursing.
