Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 575: Chapter 373: Wanting to Know Whose Green Leaf Elf Hill Is (Bonus Update with a Grand Red Envelope for World Peace)

The moment Hill arrived at Temple Square, he heard a familiar laugh.

It was Agleya greeting him.

He smiled slightly, landing on the square, and walked into the Sea God Temple on the right.

Above the water-blue statue of the Goddess was a beautiful long dress that Hill had meticulously crafted for Agleya.

Although Agleya’s Divine Soul had not officially taken residence in this statue yet, the flickering light proved that her arrival was not far off.

As the Undead Tribe wandered further and further from this world, the names of the gods of Teraxil would spread wider and wider.

As long as most of the humans in Gerns recognized these names, the deities of Teraxil would naturally become the deities of Gerns.

Now this statue, although enveloped by Divine Power, could not yet reach Agleya.

Alice gently leaped out, her slender body quietly circling a few times around the base of Agleya’s statue: ”I miss Agleya a bit. Although she was annoying when competing for Hill’s attention.”

Hill looked at the pensive little cat and said nothing; he knew that Alice, reminded of Agleya, must have remembered something else as well.

But Alice’s character was still deeply influenced by Hill in some respects.

They both took their emotional investments seriously, but once they withdrew, even if it was unbearably painful, they would not look back.

Hill gently clapped his hands, startling the silent white cat.

She jumped up, leaping into Hill’s arms, and gently stretched out her head to lick Hill’s cheek: ”Kissing Hill in front of Agleya’s statue feels really good~”

Hill shook his head with a smile and took Alice back into the pendant.

He turned back to look at the statue, hoping that it did not have the function to retain images.

But that hope was a bit vain.

Hill slowly walked out of the door; as a wise one, he would definitely not intervene in the quarrels between Alice and Agleya.

Hill was surprised to see two elves entering the Silvermoon Temple.

He understood immediately; with the Silvermoon still not completely fallen from the sky, it was normal for these ancient elves to worry about the Moon Goddess they had long known.

They wanted to see if the Silvermoon Goddess of Teraxil would take action against the Silvermoon of this world for Divinity.

Hill lowered his head and thought; the Silvermoon from their world really might not come to this one.

Moon Goddesses were very devoted and protective of their own worlds; they generally would not extend their love to other worlds.

If it were the same universe, they might still compete a bit, but to go inside other Crystal Walls, they had very little interest.

Just like Shaer, she was not the Silvermoon, but she was also originally a Goddess of the Moon.

What she pursued was only the authority of Toril; she cared not at all for other universes.

Hill saw two Radiant Knights, quietly standing outside the Sun God Temple, reluctant to leave for a long time, yet unwilling to enter.

He could somewhat understand their complex feelings.

The Sun God of Gerns had really fallen too completely, even the Divine Crystal was shattered, allowing devils and demons to divide it among themselves.

William waved from the sky, signaling Hill to follow him back to the Royal Palace.

Hill sighed; it seemed William still felt unsafe and planned to go back near the Star Gate to use the Primordial Crystal first.

Indeed, with two Demon Lords of nearly equal power, not to mention the War God whom the demons held in such high regard.

Although he was still fighting with the demons, no one knew his limits.

The Duke of Demons, daring to call himself the War God, hadn’t let the two dukes disguised as Black Moon and Red Moon attack together at the beginning; at the very least, his ability must be incredibly powerful among the dukes.

However, Hill’s way back was blocked again; the Undead Tribe would definitely not miss a chance for a free mana recharge.

Clearly, Hill would be following William back to the vicinity of the Star Gate, enjoying it for perhaps the last time for a while!

Amid the thunderous calls of ”Hill, please, give us some mana,” Hill summoned a vast mist, releasing the Water of Tranquility.

Feeling his Mana rapidly recovering, Hill casually cast a few more Nature’s Blessings before returning to the Royal Palace.

He didn’t notice the two elves staring at him in shock until his figure disappeared into the grand doors of the palace, then they promptly asked the familiar Undead Tribe about Hill’s true identity.

If Hill knew, he surely would...

He couldn’t do anything but hide, pretending not to know.

After returning to the Royal Palace, Hill immediately bid farewell to William and hurried back to his room to continue working on his Mithril Sphere, unaware of what had happened.

Nor could he see the sympathetic glances from William and Spencer behind him.

If the original ”Hill’s Biography” was already intense enough for Hill to avoid people, with the Undead Tribe’s elaborate embellishments, Hill’s story had escalated to an unknown extent.

In their naturally enhanced narratives, Hill had become a tragically beautiful figure.

And the elves were gathering information about Hill from these Undead.

Even William didn’t know what kind of pitiful figure Hill would become in the story eventually told by the elves.

Spencer gently asked his king, ”Hill is indeed the most powerful human behind Teraxil, right? If I remember correctly, no one in our world dares to provoke him anymore.”

Even those legendary mages and magicians now regret it immensely.

Why can the Undead Tribe still create such an image for him?

”Don’t they also know who stands behind Hill?”

”Because Hill is too approachable,” William replied helplessly, shaking his head. ”Though he acts indifferent, he generally does whatever is easy for him to do.

And that’s exactly what the Undead Tribe values.

In their eyes, Hill is one of their own.

So those protectors don’t put any pressure on them, and all they see is Hill.

But no matter how powerful Hill is now, in the eyes of the Undead Tribe, he is just a pitiful child who had an unfortunate childhood.”

”That Earl, although foolish, and Melanie somewhat overly carefree, in Saral nobles, their behavior isn’t too excessive, right?” Spencer said, not understanding, ”There are many more unfortunate than Hill! At least he has a grandfather, in the case of the Earl, at most he is just indifferent to him, not endangering his life.

No one dares to count the noble children who die in these family struggles every year.”

”Those people and the Undead Tribe have nothing to do with each other! They don’t go around asking if these nobles treat their own children well,” William sighed softly, ”No one stands up for people they don’t know.”

He glanced at Spencer again, ”Also, just because there are worse people doesn’t mean what the Earl did was okay, right?”

Spencer nodded, ”The Earl’s story has already become a textbook example for all nobles on how not to educate their progeny. If he had been even slightly nicer to Hill, he wouldn’t have ended up in such a situation.

However, having three sons, none of whom don’t hate him, is quite something.

Even the heir despises him to the bone, truly leaves one at a loss for words.”

”The Earl was just a villain after all, if not for me, the one in power would have been Edward, he actually didn’t make a wrong choice. What he didn’t expect was that the youngest son wasn’t even his own,” William said as fairly as he could.

”Impossible,” Spencer shook his head. ”As long as there was something suspicious about the Old King’s death, the one to ascend would definitely be Prince Charles.

No noble would allow such a blatant power grab.

That is the greatest threat to the noble system.

They can use plots and schemes, but they absolutely cannot let the whole world know about these machinations.

Nobles and kings must be exalted, not turned into jokes in the mouths of slaves and peasants.

In a world where Gods exist, once peasants and slaves no longer see nobles and royalty as utterly venerable, sooner or later a deity will arise who completely pulls them down.”

William was silent for a while, ”Only you would talk about these things with me. Indeed, those nobles and the God of Monarchy want to fight me to the death.

My very presence is the greatest harm to the noble system, isn’t it?”

Spencer smiled nonchalantly, ”The day I swore to follow you, I understood.

It was bound to happen sooner or later, you just expedited it.”

William shook his head and smiled, walking with Spencer towards his room.

Indeed, a system that has existed in a world for a long time, the people in power, even if most are fools, there are definitely a few smart and capable ones who can uphold the entire system.

William had the Undead Tribe send a few guests off; they were ready to depart.

Though he felt somewhat sorry for Hill, seeing an Elf Priest holding an enhanced version of ”Hill’s Biography”, William almost burst out laughing.

No longer moving slowly with the raging hordes of the Undead, the Alchemy Carriage was racing at high speed.

William frowned, he could feel that the Demon Lord actually kept following them.

But it seemed his target was not William.

”Spencer,” William whispered, ”Have the elves mark the location of Greenleaf Forest on the map. Let’s escort them part of the way before returning to the valley.”

Spencer didn’t ask further and went to do so immediately.

William’s carriage took a big detour after reaching the border of the Magic Kingdom.

William noticed that, upon realizing the carriage was heading towards Green Leaf Forest, the Demon Lord disappeared.

He found it strange since, for demons, elves weren’t necessarily an enemy that must be killed.

After seeing off the abundantly grateful elves and knights, William turned to depart and only then seemed to grasp a bit of an understanding.

The demons wanted to kill those who had been close to William.

Their aim was to create hatred between the natives of Gerns and the visitors from Teraxil.

”So, who said demons are brainless?” William remarked to his cousin and Hill, ”They just feel there’s no need to use their brains, not that they don’t have any.

If not for my caution, things really could have gone awry.”

Relieved that no incident had occurred after discovering the change in route, Hill took a deep breath, ”Good that nothing happened.”
