Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 557: Chapter 355 Fairness, Justice and Equity

After arriving at the city, William very rudely gave it the name ”Dawn.”

In front of the city gate, which had been refurbished by the Undead Tribe, stood a stele. The city’s name and its origin were inscribed on both sides using the languages of this world and Teraxil respectively.

Professionals like Hill, upon closer examination, could also see the runes inside. These were universal characters found across all cosmos. Even though there might be some differences, the essence remained the same.

Visitors from any world would be able to understand what was written.

If it were a legendary Professional like Hill, just one glance would be enough to learn the languages of this world and Teraxil, which was quite convenient.

William allowed the ordinary citizens, who had been isolated for a long time by the Undead Tribe, to come out. Not knowing what had happened, the citizens stood in the plaza, looking at the Undead Tribe surrounding them with eyes full of worry and fear.

William flew directly above the square and declared his arrival. The golden and silver light radiating from him, along with his divine aura, made the people instantly kneel.

William did not show any kindness or benevolence here, nor did he allow anyone to stand up and avoid giving such grand gestures of respect.

This was his first act of self-promotion in this world, and it required a bit of reverence:

”I am William Saral from Teraxil.

In the witness of time and space, I walk the world in the name of justice and fairness.

The Gerns World Will, tormented by invasions from the Abyss and Hell, has invited me and my companions to this world.

It wishes for me to bring a bright future to Gerns, to escape the peril of falling into the Abyss, and to be freed from the claws of Hell.

I will do my utmost, but whether the entire Gerns World will be devoured by the Abyss depends on your own will.

Whether deities or demons, they only show you the path. Which way you go, can only be chosen by yourselves.

I hope the humans of the Gerns World can find their way back to the right path.”

He raised his left hand, and a majestic statue was erected instantly at the center of the square.

It was William in a white robe, wearing a long sword at his waist, with the Scales in his left hand and the book of Law in his right.

The Lord’s Mansion behind the statue was crushed, and a sacred temple rose in its place: ”I do not need fervent faith, nor any sincere offerings.

As long as you obey the laws and regulations, morality and norms, I will bless you.

What I pursue are fairness and justice.

Nature has its own course of justice, and I am but an executor.

My Scales weigh all the injustices of the world.

My sword strikes down all that is evil in the world, punishing the wicked and promoting goodness.

My rulings rely only on the law, not my preferences.

If there’s any grievance, you can pray directly in front of my statue, no need to kneel.

Regardless of which world I am in, I will watch over this place through the River of Time and Space, granting you fairness and justice.”

William looked down at the ordinary citizens, still uneasy and unsure of what to do: ”Now, go home!

You have passed the Faction’s check and can start living normal lives again.

My coming here is only to help Gerns, not as an invader.

The Undead Tribe that I brought with me will not stay in Gerns forever after the end of the war.

Before we depart completely, you can convene a Parliament and elect your own Municipal Officers.

The Undead Tribe will place the book of Law in the square, which includes the establishment of the government.”

Hill, listening on the side for a long time, noticed that William seemed to have no other demands on the Gerns World.

He simply gave these citizens a chance to choose. He didn’t seem inclined to meddle further. As long as they remembered to praise him, that would be enough, even without the need for so-called devout worship.

Despite erecting a statue and building a temple, William’s attitude towards handling matters was apparent.

Hill, sitting motionless in the carriage, felt that William wouldn’t stay long in this city.

Indeed, after establishing a Teleportation Array and assigning tasks to some of the remaining Undead Tribe, William continued on with most of his followers.

He seemed to be in a hurry.

For William, this place seemed only to be a spot to proclaim the Name of God.

In other cities, he didn’t even bother building statues, just erected a few small Temples and activated Teleportation Arrays.

Hill started to wonder what was the hurry for William.

Though the vanguard of the Undead Tribe was still dying, their place of Resurrection moved closer and closer as William advanced.

And the Sunflower seeds they spread on both sides of the main road leading straight to the Royal Capital allowed Hill to scatter Nature’s Blessing along the way, making them bloom even more luxuriantly.

But Hill felt that the further they went, even without his help, these Sunflowers bloomed vibrantly and spread rapidly.

By the time they were nearing the deafening battlefield, Alice was completely listless.

The evil aura made her feel suffocated.

After much persuasion from Hill, the white cat reluctantly licked his cheek and entered the pendant with a look of dejection.

Hill could feel that within the pendant, she had begun to train very hard to integrate the power of the moonlight.

Because Hill wanted to help Merkel, Alice used her healing and ”Purification Spell” more skillfully, though she did not like using moon-related spells except for concealment.

But now, Alice suddenly discovered that the power of the sun, while useful, had heightened her sensitivity to evil.

Meanwhile, the power of Silvermoon could help her endure it.

If she had been able to master the power of Silvermoon earlier, she could be outside with Hill now.

For the first time, Alice consciously trained herself.

After losing her love, the gentle white cat had discarded much of her untimely naivete. She was still kind, but no longer just knew how to play and be lazy.

Although this was the inevitable path of growth, Hill was unhappy to see it.

Despite always wishing for Alice to be more mature and harder working, the fact that all this came at the cost of Alice being hurt only filled Hill with anger and sorrow.

He had once considered, once things in the Gerns World were settled, to return to Teraxil for a visit.

But now, Hill had decided to directly move on to the next world.

As for whether Merkel would pursue him, Hill revealed a cold sneer.

Alice was a very sensitive Spirit of Nature. If Merkel no longer loved her, she wouldn’t have struggled and would have returned to Hill’s side long ago.

Nor would she be in such painful immersion in her memories, unable to walk away.

The naive little cat couldn’t understand why the love was still there, yet everything else had changed.

But Hill was not surprised, he had always been worried about the things to come after the establishment of the Magical Beast nation.

From the story of the White Wolf God, one could see that Magical Beasts were not ignorant of power struggles. They revered strength, but that didn’t mean they didn’t want to exploit it.

Merkel’s pattern of action was still heavily influenced by his inherited memories. Although he also did well, he lacked the Wolf Tribe’s cunning.

The original Wolf God could firmly control his Beast Nation due to the absolute obedience of the Wolf Tribe.

The Magical Beasts surrounding Merkel, however, were not so united, including his own Leopard Clan.

In Hill’s valley, these leopards were very aloof, never coming out to interact with any other Magical Beasts, not even being harmonious among themselves.

Therefore, once Merkel fell into slumber, his subordinates lost their control.

Merkel’s indulgence towards Magical Beasts made them underestimate Alice’s importance.

Hill could imagine Merkel’s thought process: with Alice’s strong background, which Magical Beast would dare to directly offend her? It’s just some delusional girls, just chased them away.

However, he forgot that these so-called girls dared to do so relying on their backgrounds, and the claws of these Magical Beasts were closest to the Royal Court.

If it weren’t for Alice having a strong support system, enabling her to leave anytime, perhaps after the Black Panther’s emergence and igniting of the Divine Fire, he might only find Alice’s corpse.

What could he do then? Give up attaining divinity?

Hill didn’t even know if this Leopard’s love for Alice could outweigh the temptation of becoming a god.

The simplest skill of the deities was to forget.

As long as he didn’t shed blood in torrents at that time, for those Magical Beast families, the price paid would probably be less than Agleya’s flooding of the Royal Court.

Hill laughed coldly, Merkel, even if he stepped out now, it was too late.

Without having ignited the Divine Fire, he did not have the ability, and Agleya would not allow him to enter the Star Gate.

And after igniting the Divine Fire, even the powerful Agleya and the God of Time and Space could not leave Teraxil at will, let alone a fledgling god dependent on the faith of Magical Beasts and contributing to the world, who was even less likely to have the power to leave.

Holding the pendant, Hill knew that the worlds to come would also be chaotic and evil, and perhaps even worse.

He had to find a way, just like Alice said, to disperse the scent of evil more quickly and powerfully.

And if he accidentally fell into the heart of the demon forces, he needed to find a way to conceal his natural essence.

To the demons or devils, Alice could potentially attract two hundred percent of their attention, and Hill himself could get one hundred and twenty percent.

Upon becoming Legendary, the growth of strength could only come through chance and time; it was no use being impatient.

Hill estimated his Divine Artifacts and Demi-God Artifacts; his preparations seemed sufficient, but that was only at a glance—for he had overemphasized attack and defense.

The Supreme God Talisman, the Ring of Winter, including his oil painting, were all powerful and kind Divine Artifacts.

His Crystal Flower Ring was a bit more supportive, mainly defense.

And the element aura of the Mechanism Fan was too strong.

Fighting openly was one thing, but if he needed to attack quietly and escape quickly, Hill needed to come up with some new strategies.

Even if the worlds he would go to were not as evil as this one, or even if they had a more obscure and complex background, he would still need to conceive some more secure methods.

William Saral’s chariot finally stopped.

Hill raised his head, and the battlefield ahead was clearly visible.

Accompanied by the widespread fire, shadows of demons danced in the sky, eerie and terrifying.
