Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 587: Chapter 385: Glorious Victory and Soliris Repairing the Sky

Hill looked up at the starry sky, where a huge vibration sounded, Maman’s long tail hung down, and Bael suddenly jumped up, landing on the giant tail.

No matter how powerful the duke was, without the level granted by Hell, Bael could not be as powerful as Maman.

Therefore, among the devils who were very keen on fighting for power, no one liked the obedient and unambitious Bael.

Even Maman, whom he truly followed, sometimes doubted if Bael’s loyalty was just for show.

Hill smiled, realizing that it was the World Tree that stood outside this world, guarding them.

As soon as the voice came out, Hill’s mental sea trembled, telling him that it was the source of his bloodline.

Hill could vaguely understand the feeling of the elves facing Coron, no wonder even the elves from the evil faction respected the Father of Elves.

Of course, Rose’s dark elves were not included, but they had never denied Coron’s identity.

Even among the dark elves, many still maintained their respect for the Father of Elves.

The sensation of blood and soul vibrating together was too exciting.

It was the origin of his own life; without it, his existence would not have been possible.

Maman’s long tail flicked as if testing, but unfortunately, William’s silver defensive shield only shook slightly and held firm.

The Undead all stood on the ground, starting from the outermost part of the silver shield, one by one glowing, those in the forefront were the priests of the God of Time and Space, with one hand firmly pressed against the shield like silver crystal.

William used the power of time and space on them to create a defensive formation strong enough to block the power of the Demon Lord.

The Radiant Knights in the middle seemed a bit at a loss.

They really wanted to fight Bael to the death, but it seemed that there was no way now.

The radiant knights’ complexions turned ugly, as they suddenly dismounted and kneeled on one knee to start praying to their deities.

The Sun God from Teraxil quickly responded to them, their bodies almost merging into a single piece of golden light.

The elves huddled and discussed briefly, then took on the stance of Elf Priests, their hands tightly holding onto Coron’s Holy Emblem, with ethereal green leaves twirling around them.

Hill couldn’t help but look surprised; the green leaves seemed to turn more and more yellow under the golden radiance nearby, even becoming transparent gold.

Hill looked up once again, Maman outside the world seemed only to be defending. For a Demon Lord, a World Tree that had not come in its true form could be defended against for a long time, even if attacked fiercely.

What was his target after all?

But whatever it was, Hill felt that he might have miscalculated.

Maman had underestimated those existence on the ground too much!

Loud prayers behind the Radiant Knight suddenly conjured the figure of Sun God Soliris, tightly holding his Sun Bow, an Arrow of Gold ready to be released.

The elves’ golden leaves suddenly spun and merged into the Arrow of Gold, and Soliris unhesitatingly shot the arrow towards the segment of Maman’s long tail that carried Bael.

The arrow traveled across the sky in the blink of an eye, directly striking the snakelike tail.

Although Bael reacted, even trying to break the threatening Sun God Arrow with a hammer in his hand, he could only let out a moan as the hand holding the hammer, along with the weapon, turned to ashes.

”Ah!” Maman outside the world also cried out in pain, his long tail suddenly flailing wildly, Bael, now with only one hand, almost got thrown off.

A huge hole appeared on his long tail; everyone on the ground could see the sky on the other side.

As Maman thrashed about, a black curtain in the sky that had been burnt by the Sun God Arrow suddenly tore open.

The stars of the Demon’s Divine Kingdom instantly disappeared from the starry sky.

Hill frowned as he watched; that was an evil artifact!

The reason why the people of this world fell into evil so easily must be related to the evil aura continuously emanating from this cloth, right?

This cloth couldn’t possibly be something the duke had, could it have been brought by the Eighth Prison Lord?

Was this what Maman wanted?

Despite being heavily wounded, Maman hooked the cloth with the tip of his tail, disappearing into the large hole in the World Membrane with Bael, now half of his body gone.

He had to leave immediately; although the injury wasn’t fatal, facing himself with a weakness, neither gods nor demons might hesitate to join forces against him.

”Ah!” Hill suddenly exclaimed; he saw it! A huge spider appeared out of nowhere in the Void outside the World Membrane.

”Rose!” Maman’s roar was so loud that everyone inside the world heard it clearly.

The spider quickly tore the cloth along the tear into two pieces, then holding one piece, rapidly disappeared with it, pulled by a silken thread.

Maman could only curse Rose’s shamelessness bitterly as he also disappeared.

Only a large hole leading to the starry sky remained, a gigantic eye suddenly looked into the world.

The eye was filled with madness and evil.

Hill only glanced once, then quickly turned his head away.

”What do you want to do?” asked the voice of the World Tree, ”Move aside!”

”What can I do?” a voice answered leisurely, ”I’m just looking, wanting to see what these fellows who killed my subordinates look like.”

Coron, why so tense? I won’t harm the little elves below.”

The eyes vanished.

”Well then, we shall meet again.” The demon’s voice gradually faded, and he left.

The figure of Soliris appeared, the Sun God skillfully turning all Divine Power into golden threads, weaving them into a golden curtain, and swiftly patching up the gaping hole.

William couldn’t help but laugh.

Hill glanced at him, but indeed, the god from Teraxil’s overly skilled heavenly mending technique did give off a sense of despair as if patching it up again would only last another three years.

Probably every god and demon from other worlds, even the devils, would grow curious about just how many times the World Membrane of Teraxil had been torn.

As the figure of the Sun God dissolved into the air, William also lowered his defenses.

The Radiant Knights, they all lay on the ground.

Their strength had been drained by the Sun God in an instant, now even the Undead Tribe could easily kill them. The elves cautiously guarded them, their eyes fixed intensely on the watching Undead Tribe.

Hill felt that the Undead must have shown a hint of hostility to make the elves so sensitive.

Like testing if they could kill these crippled knights.

Spencer, with a greatly changed complexion, had already sent a warning to the Undead Tribe.

William touched the hair on his forehead, his heart heavy, and waved his hand, opening the ceiling of the Royal Palace once again.

He rose into the air, asking the Green Leaf Elves to bring the people and horses of the Radiant Knights Order into the palace as guests.

Under William’s watchful eyes, the Undead Tribe turned their heads aside, pretending to go to the Dead Sea to enjoy the scenery as if nothing was amiss.

Hill stood up, greeted Spencer and then turned to return to his own room.

The Radiant Knights would probably need a few days to recover, and the elves would likely take care of them.

After all, they had been companions for over ten thousand years.

William and Spencer would probably be very busy during this time, since they had to calculate the rewards for the Undead Tribe.

Then they’d negotiate with the Gerns World Will and rear their own Space-Time Priests.

The lower-level Undead could also come to this world through the Star Gate now, and they had many minor daily tasks to perform.

Nowadays, Gerns had absolutely no government managing affairs.

Hill didn’t know how William planned to handle the civil affairs of Gerns.

After all, Gerns people didn’t have much to do now because of the looming war clouds. Once the war ended completely, the struggle for power would come to the forefront.

But that was William’s concern.

To Hill, there wasn’t much of importance left in this world, except he wondered what the evil artifact that Maman and Rose were both vying for was.

But with the artifact broken in half, maintaining even a quarter of its original power would be impressive.

Rose probably just couldn’t bear the fact that after guarding it for so long, she had received nothing, which would make her reach for it.

Even though the artifact’s power had diminished, it was still better than letting Maman have it all.

The Demon Lord, as angry as he was, lacked the ability to descend hundreds of layers into the Abyss to settle the score with her. It was a grab-worthy opportunity indeed.

This was so Rose. Hill felt he could completely understand her.

Hill was meticulously crafting his own equipment in his room when on the third day, Spencer knocked on his door.

With some confusion, Hill followed him back to the Royal Palace Hall. Was there something else that needed doing?

By William’s side, the figure of Soliris materialized in midair, accompanied by a peculiar Crystal Ball.

Below, there was not only an Elf Priest but also two demigod Radiant Knights.

Hill, observing this formally set scene, hesitated slightly in his steps.

”Hill, come here,” William called out with a smile. ”The Gerns World Will seeks a favor from you.”

Hill nearly laughed out loud. So, William was setting the level for this request first? This was a cue for Hill to drive a hard bargain!

That dizzyingly intricate Crystal Ball was indeed the Gerns World Will.

He genuinely seemed to love Crystal Balls!

Hill politely gave a Mage Ceremony and sat down on one side: ”What sort of matter could bring you to me?”

”The Dead Sea,” Soliris said bluntly. ”In Gerns’ oceans, there is not a single creature. The devils have done a thorough job. They entered Gerns too early, and marine life was eradicated before it had a chance to evolve.

Gerns’ oceans are extremely polluted and need purification.”

Hill touched his Ring of Winter: ”What will I gain from this?”

The Gerns World Will directly floated a Crystal Ball in front of Hill: ”Child of the World Tree, I beg you, in the name of our shared origin, please help. I will not let your efforts go unrewarded.”

As Hill held the Crystal Ball, he couldn’t help but glance at the avatar of Gerns World Will. Was this being refusing to let the devils benefit by hoarding all the world’s output himself?
