Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 584: 382 Chapter Let’s send them home together!

Hill curiously looked toward the window.

Speaking of which, except when he went back to his own room to rest, he really spent most of his time clinging to this window!

Even the chair had been replaced with a comfortable sofa, and there was even a small table beside it for placing food.

Hill thought absentmindedly, having spent so much time with William, had he really become this relaxed?

Even though he didn’t say it out loud, Hill still pretty much trusted William’s character.

Leaning against the window, Hill smiled as he watched the Undead Tribe getting into formation, then he widened his eyes in surprise—what were these guys up to?

”They’re going after that Succubus!” Hill, seeing the strange commotion among the Undead Tribe, finally reacted, turning his head to inform William, ”Should we ignore this? I’m worried that the Succubus might really attack the Undead Tribe first!”

”Too late,” William said calmly with two words, ”Forget it, let’s leave it to fate! It’s her own choice. Anyway, the Undead Tribe won’t be annihilated now, so it doesn’t matter how many die; they’re asking for it.”

Listening to the sister song that rang out again, Hill scratched his head and smiled awkwardly, ”It’s been so long, how can they still remember this song!”

”Actually, many people learned it afterward. They really liked that brainstorming session.

And on their forum, there has always been regret from those who missed out on singing this song in the presence of the devil,” Spencer explained softly, ”They started preparing before entering the War God Kingdom.

What they worried about most was that, if the Succubus couldn’t withstand that War God and got killed, wouldn’t that be a futile effort!

So when they saw the Succubus, they couldn’t help themselves and decided to sing first, just in case there was no chance later.”

Hill was momentarily lost in thought—so the sole regret of the Undead Tribe, seeing such a bewitchingly tempting Succubus, was not having sung that sister song to her?

Hill couldn’t help but look out the window; the deafening song made the blood-soaked battlefield suddenly come to a halt.

Both the Devils and Demons couldn’t resist looking toward the human army, probably doubting their own senses.

Hill resisted the urge to lower his head and began to tally the types of Demons and Devils.

He still didn’t know who the Demon Lords and Lords of the Abyss participating in this war were!

Clearly, Mephistopheles, the Monarch of Hell from the eighth layer, hadn’t brought his followers with him.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have died so freely; summoning all his Devils to die with him would have been more in line with what a Lord of Hell would do.

Then he reluctantly gave up, not just the Devils outside but also the Demons; they all seemed like a ragtag bunch.

It seemed that neither the Demon Lords nor the Lords of the Abyss intended to reveal their identities.

And yet, Hill still couldn’t help wanting to watch the Succubus.

Her peachy-soft little face had turned iron blue amidst the Undead Tribe’s singing.

Her opponent, a Pleasure Demon, was pleasantly clapping her black wings, dancing in the air, sprinkling crisp laughter.

Her amber hair fluttered in the wind, and her lake-like purple eyes sparkled—it truly resembled the Fallen Angels of legend.

The fact that the two of them were pitted against each other surprised Hill; both the Succubus and the Pleasure Demon were known for their powers of charm, and he couldn’t understand why they weren’t targeting males, but instead clashed with their own kind.

Whistles were already bursting forth from the Undead Tribe.

This was a battle between bewitching beauty and refreshing purity—although it lacked the mysterious and noble Goddess, this was enough to make the Undead Tribe take deep breaths and watch the scene with rapt attention.

The Undead Tribe were even praising William for truly understanding human nature, remarking on the beautiful feeling of a double kill.

What a pity that Shaer was too high-level; if she had also been there, it would have been perfect.

”These two are probably both trying to stall for time,” William, who had seen the two females on the big screen, spoke as if he didn’t hear the Undead Tribe and analyzed calmly, ”No wonder this war hasn’t ended yet. No one wants to fight to the death.

It seems that although they can go back and resurrect, the price is sufficiently steep.

Even as a Great Overlord of the Abyss, the Succubus no longer wants to fight.

Although she’s going against the orders of the Lord of the Abyss, Demons, unlike Devils, are not many who would be willing to fight to the death over whether their Overlord is pleased or not.

Do they think they absolutely can’t take down that Duke of Demons, unable to please the Abyss, so they start slacking off at work?

She probably intentionally picked out the Pleasure Demon; the other Demons, even if dissatisfied with her shirking, wouldn’t want to be captured by a Pleasure Demon.”

Who exactly is that War God?

A while ago, I remember this Succubus was so confident she could definitely kill him!

These Lords of the Abyss have been playing power games for so long, and they can’t take down this Duke when they join forces?

Is he still just a Duke?

Could it be that one of the Monarchs of Hell has personally intervened?”

In the lifting song of the Undead Tribe, the Succubus snapped out her whip with a ”crack.”

But she didn’t aim at the Undead Tribe; instead, she lashed directly at the Pleasure Demon, who was laughing jubilantly.

”It’s not your turn to laugh at me!” the bewitching Succubus hissed seductively, as she whipped the Pleasure Demon in the face. The seemingly innocent face was lacerated, and even as the opponent quickly writhed her face trying to heal, she was left with a bloody mark.

Murmurs of pity arose from the Undead Tribe as a huge sigh fluttered over the battlefield.

The demons and devils, already back to fighting, all turned to glance over, shaking with delight to find their enemies, as well as their own kind, all bearing looks of regret.

The succubus’s bat wings vibrated as she took to the air, emitting an enticing laugh, ”I knew you were useless!”

”Ah! You whore! I’ll kill you!” The pleasure demon’s purple eyes turned red, her wings fluttering as she moved to claw at the succubus’s cheek with her talons.

William silently switched the view to another location.

Even though the large Soul Reaver Demon was covered in wounds and his roar shook the heavens, his enemies, equally grotesque, were a much more pleasant sight to him as a warrior than the pair that had started to scratch, bite, and tear at each other’s hair.

The Undead Tribe actually preferred watching that fight, their cheering voices growing loud in support of both sides.

”What should the Undead Tribe do?” Spencer asked frankly, ”Just charge in? Hit both sides at once?”

”Just charge in!” William said coldly, ”Be it devils or demons, they’re all enemies of humanity. There’s no need for differentiation.

The Undead Tribe of today is not what it was half a year ago; it’s impossible for them to lose to any opponent.”

The Undead Tribe, finally given permission, cheered as they plunged into the battlefield.

A fight between great beauties might be a fine sight, but experience packs were more important.

The low-ranking demons and devils had mostly perished already, with only some intermediate ones struggling to survive in corners of the high-level battlefield.

But the Undead Tribe didn’t care who they were facing.

The knights raised their Great Shields high, light of holiness flowing around them as they shouted words like ’valor’ or ’sacrifice’ and charged into battle.

Behind them, instead of priests, came the paladins, also shouting ’mercy’.

Only then did the other knights and swordsmen follow.

Mages and priests stood at a considerable distance, casting their blizzards and Holy Rains, wrapped in several layers of defensive knights chanting ’humility’ and ’honor.’

Protecting others and fighting bravely had gradually become differentiated, hadn’t they? Paladins are something in between the two?

The demons were probably encountering a scene where their enemy outnumbered them for the first time, becoming nearly clumsy in battle when they first clashed with the Undead Tribe.

As for the devils, long accustomed to being oppressed by demons, they had chosen their positions well, trying not to be attacked from both sides.

After observing carefully for a while, Hill noticed that aside from the giant War God wielding a huge hammer and besieged by three Demon Lords, the Undead Tribe had completely disrupted the battlefield elsewhere.

It was obvious that the Undead Tribe intended to take out the lesser bosses first before encircling the major ones.

They probably viewed the War God as the ultimate boss of the Gerns World.

”Which Duke of Hell likes heavy weaponry? It’s definitely not one from the insect family; Mephistopheles would never get along peacefully with a Duke from that family.

It wouldn’t stop until the Lord of Hell had to intercede,” William murmured as he continued to flip through the tablet in his hand.

”Bathym of the Belia Family? That doesn’t seem right. That father-daughter pair haven’t determined a victor yet; Bathym shouldn’t be contemplating starting trouble in the material world.

Could it be Bael? He does indeed have the qualifications to call himself a War God!”

Hill asked curiously, ”Your Majesty the King, is Bael a famous Duke in Hell?”

”A very capable general,” William paused, contemplatively saying, ”If it’s Bael, it’s understandable why the demons are so excited.

In the blood battles of the first layer of Hell or the first layer of the Abyss, Bael led the Devil Legions to slaughter quite a few demons, earning a lot of respect from the devils for doing so.

Naturally, the demons would hate him enough.

Sacrificing his corpse to the Abyss would definitely yield rewards no less than offering a Demon Lord.

And Bael, not quite suited for the trickery and deception among the devils and often manipulated, coming to the material world to find a way out is quite normal.

Though his power is certainly great, acknowledged as the First Duke, even a hidden Grand Duke, his ambition wasn’t large, being content with becoming a Duke.

A most peculiar devil.

No wonder Mephistopheles didn’t care about having such a powerful Duke near his avatar. If it’s Bael, then it makes sense.”

William suddenly looked up and smiled, ”What a pity that his whole body is hidden in armor, eh?

He wears that horned helmet so closely.

Otherwise, I’d really like to see what the red-haired, golden-horned Bael actually looks like!

Yet his lord, Maman, full of schemes and tricks, keeps Bael from ending this battle; curious what he’s plotting.

No wonder the demons are stalling for time, unable to finish Bael quickly; their fate was already sealed.”

William sighed with a semblance of regret, ”But for us, there’s no difference. Let the Undead Tribe push harder, let them go back to Hell and the Abyss together!”
