Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 589: Chapter 487 Alice and Agleya’s Meeting

”Agleya, long time no see,” Hill said with a delighted smile as he looked at the beautiful young girl. ”I’m glad you like it. I didn’t expect to find an ocean crystal that would be so perfect for creating a gradient effect.”

Agleya squinted her eyes, smiling brilliantly. Crafting a statue wasn’t something that could be done on a whim. Although the statue Hill carved wasn’t one of those filled with devout respect and adoration, it still contained Hill’s doting love for his daughter.

Agleya was very satisfied. She could never resist such wholehearted doting love.

However, although she had a lot to say, she first completed the purpose of her summoning. The exquisite sphere she held in her hand flew out of the Sea God Temple instantaneously, and the pure water summoned in the void gently sprinkled over the entire battlefield.

An endless rain began to fall over the sea, blending with the misty rain against the backdrop of a great waterfall above the ocean, suddenly revitalizing the once-dead sea with a glimmer of life.

Hill stood at the entrance of the temple, took a look at the ocean that seemed a bit more lively, and let out a gentle sigh.

Unlike on land, the plants in the ocean that could be purified were probably only seaweeds.

But once seaweed absorbed evil essences, it wouldn’t purify itself as sunflowers do; instead, it would become an even more malevolent entity.

Having narrowly escaped the clutches of devils and demons, Hill didn’t intend to bring any more trouble to the world of Gerns.

Thus, the only solution was to help the ocean regain a bit of vitality with external forces and then rely on time to heal slowly.

And after the land’s atmosphere is mostly purified, it would also benefit the ocean.

William probably understood this as well, as he had already arranged for the Undead Tribe to start planting sunflowers along the coast.

Gerns isn’t a very large planet; it’s really a wonder why it would birth treasures like the Primordial Crystal, which are rarely seen even in great worlds.

”This place needs more of your attention, Agleya,” Hill turned his head and spoke, ”Guarding and purifying a Dead Sea will bring you ample benefits.

But you must be extremely cautious. The Dead Sea, once devoid of any life force, wasn’t likely to breed evil spirits.

However, when purification reaches halfway, it may encounter many troubles.

Although Gerns no longer has any major problems, small-scale magic disasters are bound to occur.”

”Don’t worry, Dad,” Agleya said with a side-long smile as she floated beside Hill. ”I will have a Moon Elf who is fully integrated with my Divine Kingdom oversee the Sea God Temple.

Perhaps it’s because Dad also has the Water Attribute, but these Moon Elves have easily learned the Water Element Divine Arts and have become very formidable Demigod Priests.

They’re now regretting that they handed over the first batch of elves born from the Moon Tree to me.

Compared to the previous batch, they’re like two completely different existences. Even the Goddess of the Silvermoon is considering taking a few back to manage the affairs of her Divine Kingdom.

Her followers, although loyal, are too impulsive.

Above the Silvermoon, things are even more chaotic than when she was asleep!

So she’s envious of me, feeling that even though I belong to the Chaotic Faction, my Divine Kingdom is managed orderly.”

Hill sighed helplessly: ”Doesn’t she have the Silvermoon Sorcerers? And the people from the Temple of Knowledge will help, won’t they?”

”Management is not an issue on land. Those Silvermoon Sorcerers still have some governing abilities.

But as for her Divine Kingdom, she can’t expect that foolish dog to manage it, can she?

She can only hope that the Silvermoon Tower Master returns to her Divine Kingdom soon!” Agleya pouted, ”But with the lifespan of that Magician, how could it be less than ten thousand years?

As for the God of Knowledge, the Goddess of Silvermoon finds him too verbose. He has too many rules for everything, and she doesn’t want anything to do with him.

In fact, she doesn’t really care about the chaos.

It’s us, the outsiders who see it, that find it unbearable.

What she’s truly envious of is that even within my Divine Kingdom, most Moon Elves are still Orderly Good!

Too bad, she can only dream of such a crop!”

So, some Moon Elves have followed you and become Chaotic Good, huh! Hill let out a silent sigh in his heart. It hasn’t been that many years!

”And Alice?” Agleya abruptly changed the subject, ”Why is she not daring to see me? Where’s that arrogant little girl who was in my temple? Is she hiding because she’s afraid I’ll settle the score with her?”

”I was just giving you some time alone with Hill, but it seems you’re more eager to see me!” Alice burst forth from the pendant, indignant, ”Do you love me that much, Agleya?”

Hill silently walked out of the temple, leaving the space for the two ladies. He absolutely didn’t want to be the referee caught in the middle.

Even if the outside air smelled foul, he could endure it.

It was simply a matter of holding his breath, much easier than staying inside the temple.

After Agleya’s arrival, the Shallow Water Plaza in front of the temple had already seen flowing clear water.

Hill found a comfortable spot, set down a table and sofa, and decided to rest for a while in the rain.

The friendly exchange between Alice and Agleya lasted almost the entire day, and it wasn’t until nightfall that they called for their poor, weary father to come back into the temple to rest.

Thankfully, the Undead, having undertaken various tasks, had mostly moved away from the coast. Otherwise, Hill’s pitiful sight sitting in the rain would have undoubtedly become a hot topic on their forums.

Of course, Hill had long since used a spell of ignorance; unless someone deliberately came this way, one couldn’t see there was a person here from a distance.

His two daughters had finished their battle and reverted to their close sisterly affection.

They were huddled together, whispering about something unknown.

Hill knew it must have nothing to do with the leopard.

The reason those guys from the Monster Nation dared to treat Alice like that was that Merkel wouldn’t awake for at least three more years.

They hadn’t openly insulted Alice, just covertly manipulated her.

They probably thought that the submissive Alice might endure it for a year or two before leaving.

Then they could tell Merkel that it was Alice who couldn’t stand the loneliness and didn’t want to stay in the Monster Nation and wait.

They didn’t need to lie, just speak half-truths.

However, what they didn’t expect was that Alice couldn’t even endure for a few months.

Magical Beasts are not humans, after all; they don’t understand that Alice, when facing Merkel, and Alice, when facing them, could never be the same!

The Spirit of Nature, spoiled by Hill, never made concessions to anyone.

She seemed submissive only because Merkel never made her uncomfortable in any aspect she cared about.

But with Alice’s direct departure, the schemers in the Monster Nation also knew they couldn’t justify themselves to Merkel once he woke up in three years.

Even if Alice had the worst patience, she couldn’t possibly fail to hold out for even a few months.

Hill had set up a long, soft sofa in the Temple, the coffee table laden with food and drink, as he invited the two ladies with a smile, ”Come over here and chat! Alice, Agleya!”

He had noticed that Agleya’s figure was becoming more and more substantial.

Teraxil had granted their laws to the deities of the Undead Tribe, almost all of them constructing an elemental body realistic enough to have all five senses and maintain strength at the Demi-god Rank.

Agleya scooped up Alice, who was about to dash toward Hill, and sat down on the long sofa across from him.

”No running away~” Agleya teasingly warned, ”Dear Sister Alice, since you can travel with Hill’s Dad, don’t be so intimate with Dad in front of me!

Otherwise, I’ll definitely find a way to shave off all your fur!”

Alice uttered a sullen ’meow’, thought about the gap in strength between her and Agleya, and succumbed to sitting quietly next to Agleya.

The two had nothing serious to talk about. Agleya scorned the Monster Nation but still managed a few words: The fools are anxious to bring Alice back but don’t dare go to Agleya’s Temple so they thought of finding Hill’s valley.

Unfortunately, that place had already become Saral’s territory, nearly causing the guarding Undead Tribe to skin them alive and roast them.

Their helpless outcome was that no one wanted to take responsibility for driving away Alice; after their quarrels, each race just constructed their own domain around the Royal Court.

And the Magical Beasts that Hill had sent back, since the incident with Alice, had all left the Royal Court to establish their own camp in a mountain range in the Beast Nation.

Even if Merkel woke up, he would only face a country that had already fallen apart.

Alice, her long tail swishing lightly, let out a scoff, ”I don’t know how Merkel will choose after waking up, but those guys will probably all be killed by him.”

Agleya looked at her, ”If that leopard decides to give up everything to come looking for you, should I stop him?”

”I don’t know.” said Alice, with a hint of melancholy, ”I really don’t know.

I know that he loves me, and I know that his power has reached its limit and he must sleep.

But the Merkel of the past would rather take me with him instead of asking me to help him guard the nation.

Maybe I’m asking for too much; I wish to always be Merkel’s first priority and not have anything above me.”

Hill didn’t speak; of course, his idea was to utterly disregard that leopard. However, this was about Alice’s feelings, and all he could do was watch, unable to intervene.

Alice shook her head, ”Forget it, let’s not think about these things. Agleya, if Merkel really gives up everything and comes after me, let him come out!

But don’t tell him where I am.

If he can find me based on his own strength, then I’ll consider whether to give him another chance.

Of course, if he chooses to join the Earth Deity System, don’t be hostile towards him.

What do I care for a love that is gone?

And, having hurt me, he won’t have an easy time in the Earth Deity System either, right? Hill’s Dad!”

Hill showed a gentle smile, ”Of course, your Grandpa Haiweirsen has always liked Alice very much.”

Alice smiled contentedly and began to tell Agleya the stories from the Gerns side.

Agleya seemed to be curious about the Green Leaf Elves, and Hill could only pretend not to hear what they were saying.
