Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 563: Chapter 361: The Appearance of the Lord of the 8th Layer of Hell

Hill glanced at William.

Although he was always smiling, the King was actually not happy at all.

For William, who had inscribed justice into his divinity, everything ahead was an intolerable evil.

Initially, Hill hadn’t thought William would take on such a troublesome divinity as justice, but later he understood that if justice were in someone else’s hands, they would eventually seek to snatch fairness from him.

And indeed, justice was a very powerful divinity, as long as his target was truly evil.

However, in contrast, facing the scenes in the Capital that were too cruel for humans, William’s anger deepened greatly. He used to be unable to tolerate such malicious deeds but never felt this kind of empathetic sorrow before.

When he had just become the King of Saral, William seemed more like a detached outsider.

His style of handling things was always quite erratic, only appearing as a responsible ruler because he still retained a soldier’s sense of justice.

But in reality, Hill had always felt that during those times, William was more akin to the Undead Tribe compared to the Saral People.

His actions were very whimsical, and his striking down upon the Salal nobility seemed normal to Hill, but too harsh for ordinary people.

It was only because William’s future identity as a deity shielded all this behind an inviolable veil of the divine.

If it weren’t for this divine nature, even a legend would have been brought down by continuous rebellions.

People of the fantasy world could understand deities doing all sorts of unimaginable things for their faith but couldn’t tolerate their own kind plotting any revolution.

Hill looked sideways at the King of Saral; he was becoming more like a true deity now.

His nature might still be lively, but he had started to adhere strictly to his divinity, even affecting his emotions significantly.

For William, such influence was still not much, given that he originally didn’t feel a strong identification with this world. Over time, given his serious military training, he was bound to reach this day eventually.

But for Hill, who always had low control power, this was indeed a matter to be wary of. He distinctly remembered that even the subconsciousness of nature almost transformed him into a Spirit of Nature.

Hill quietly turned his head back; becoming a deity was indeed a troublesome matter.

Hill, enduring nausea, still used his spiritual power to sense the Capital ahead.

There was no trace of humanity left there.

Hill did not know whether it was because of their attack that all the humans had been killed or if the humans of the Capital had already been thoroughly transformed into devils a long time ago.

But Hill was clear that not all people, except those extremely wicked, were qualified to transform into devils.

Some people simply couldn’t wholly descend into degradation; as long as there was still a hint of hope in their hearts, they couldn’t become devils.

For these people, becoming a devil was even harder than becoming an Abyssal Demon.

It required their wholehearted devotion; any hesitation, and they could only turn their souls into a collection of the devil.

But in the Capital, not even a light red halo was present; it was all deep red devils, so evil that they required no second thoughts.

The attack by the Undead Tribe was halted by William.

The King of Saral, accompanied by Hill, stood on a high platform and elevated into midair.

William half-closed his eyes, and with a forceful swing of the long sword in his right hand, thousands of colorless, transparent space-time dragons traced silvery gleams through the air.

Almost just a flash in the air twice, these dragons directly charged at the Capital’s gray-black defensive shield.

The powerful spatial divine power shattered the defensive magic array almost instantaneously, rushing directly into the Royal Capital.

Hill watched in astonishment as the buildings of the entire city were shattered by these omnipresent space-time dragons.

Even the great temple in the city center, glimmering with black light, didn’t last long.

Hill furrowed his brows; the real foundation of the God of Magic wasn’t in this temple, which is why William’s power could shatter the Main Temple so easily.

He looked around, yet saw no place that appeared peculiar.

The true place of worship for the God of Magic must still be here, just hidden somewhere unknown.

Could it be underground?

Speaking of which, this devil’s Weave seemed more like the Shadow Weave! It greatly influenced one’s character, its degenerative nature also quite similar.

But it also carried the functionality of the real Weave; otherwise, the mages of this country wouldn’t be able to use elemental magic.

Such a thoughtful Demon Lord! Actually wanting to possess both the Weave and the Shadow Weave in his own hands.

But to challenge the Goddess of Night for authority, this Great Monarch is truly fearless!

This is someone who can rush into the nine layers of hell and fight ferociously.

Hill hesitated, thinking, devils are generally very adept at exploiting benefits and avoiding harm; who is this audacious?

Don’t assume that the Goddess of Magic rarely leaves her own world, but when confronted with a significant threat to her life, she definitely wouldn’t mind cooperating with her enemy, the Lady of the Night.

And also, who is the current Goddess of Magic?

If this Mystra were still Misslyn, no matter how deep her enmity with the Goddess of Night Shaer, it wouldn’t change the fact she’s Shaer’s daughter!

They should still have that kind of unspoken understanding when cooperating to deal with a Demon Lord.

”Hill,” William’s hand gently rested on Hill’s shoulder, ”make your move!”

Hill lifted his hand adorned with the Ring of Winter and used his spiritual power to activate the spell that changes the weather.

A silver-blue light shot directly into the sky above the capital, and in an instant, the clouds changed.

Amid the biting cold wind, goose-feather-like snow quickly began to fall.

The weather grew colder and colder.

Hill softly muttered, ”Agleya!”

The Ring of Winter flashed with a blue light, and suddenly a huge rift opened above the capital, from which endless sea water poured down.

Hill widened his eyes in surprise: This directly connects to the Elemental Realm! It’s not the sea water of this world at all!

He had always thought that he was summoning a segment of the sea from this world and worried about potentially harming the sea monsters.

He had not expected that the summoned sea was from the Elemental Realm!

That indeed was truly infinite. Even if Hill flooded the entire planet of Gerns, it would feel nothing to the Elemental Realm.

”Agleya’s power has already transcended the Sea God of the small world! I didn’t expect that she was the first natural deity to emerge from Teraxil,” William’s hand still lightly pressed on Hill.

Hill couldn’t help but smile; lifting his hand bearing the Crystal Flower Ring, the Water of Tranquility rose together with the Water Mist above the Royal Palace.

He effortlessly used the Tide Dance Moon Welcoming as well.

In this place transformed by the changed weather and filled with the essence of the Sea of Elements, these three healing skills might not greatly restore divine power, but they did a good job of replenishing physical strength.

”It might be due to my relationship,” Hill quietly admitted, ”the Elemental Realm and Agleya get along well; she can directly visit my Water Elemental Lord there.

I’ve heard her chatting with the Water Elemental Lord before; Agleya also has good relations with Water Elementals not from our world. They’ve taught Agleya quite a few things.

And indeed, Agleya can easily use the water energy of the Elemental Realm.”

”The Elemental Realm has always been quite xenophobic. I didn’t expect that not only are those Elementals fond of you, but they also adore your daughter too,” William said with a laugh as he withdrew his hand and the platform slowly descended.

”Elemental Spirits wouldn’t regard Agleya differently just because they like me,” Hill countered, ”At most, they might turn a blind eye to her actions in the Elemental Realm, but the good relationship could only be because they genuinely like Agleya’s temperament.

And indeed, Agleya is very lovable!

Isn’t it quite normal for her to be liked?”

William smiled as he settled back into his throne, secretly sighing in relief.

Hill pretended not to notice.

However, even though he yielded the battle with the God of Magic to others, William still wasn’t planning to let anyone think he was weaker than that god!

But he trusts Hill too much! He didn’t reserve even a bit of his power.

Just now, Hill was so nervous he almost placed the Ring of Winter’s protective armor on William.

But the hand William placed on his shoulder stopped Hill.

It seems that even within the Alliance, William remains mostly suspicious of the deities of this world.

Hill quietly sat down, knowing what followed had little do with them.

The waters of the Sea of Elements didn’t have much effect on the ordinary world; at most, the essence of Water Element intensified slightly.

But it was very harmful to the devils.

Originally, devils detest pure salt.

A horde of devils desperately fled the ocean area, only to be joyously slain by the surrounding Undead Tribe.

Soon, angry howls came from above the capital. A massive figure appeared there, striving to close the rift in the Sea of Elements.

This devil had deep red skin, large and robust red wings, twisted horns, white eyes, and long, black hair. Surrounded by billowing black flames, a name hovered on Hill’s lips but was silently swallowed back.

”Mephistopheles!” William exclaimed in surprise, but he quickly regained his composure, ”No wonder, I was thinking which Demon Lord was so bold, not at all worried about the Goddess of Magic and the Goddess of Night joining forces to crush him.”

He glanced at Spencer, whose face was full of confusion, and explained without waiting for him to ask: ”The lord of the eighth layer of Hell, apart from the Lord of Hell Asmodeus, he is the most influential devil. And his lifelong goal is to pull down Asmodeus to become the ruler of Hell.

Speaking of which, the Sea of Elements really does deal the most significant damage to him, as he is the controller of the hell devil fire.

The purest waters of the Sea of Elements are precisely his adversary.”

William laughed joyfully, ”Hill, you really are the lucky spokesperson! If he wasn’t urgently dealing with the Elemental Sea, the Undead would’ve lost more than half.”
