Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 581: Chapter 379: Setting Out Again to Purify the Whole of Gerns!

Hill couldn’t help but laugh; he had just seen ”Snow Cloud Peak” following behind a large group of people walking in.

However, probably not wanting to be mocked, the Mage had put on his hood.

”Damn it! Who hit me?

What? Old Dog, you’re here too! How come I didn’t notice you at all; you’re so inconspicuous!

I didn’t say anything wrong, did you die to some minor mobs or what?

Even a Pure Milk Priest wouldn’t die that quickly!

You should let Elder try it; he’d definitely have more stamina than you!

Ah! Let go of my ear! Elder, my bad!”

Laughter erupted outside Hill’s window, the air filled with mockery of ’Snow Cloud Peak,’ being weaker than a Priest, and of course, they also laughed at ’Young Master’ for suffering the divine punishment due to his sharp tongue, but nobody wanted to say it out loud.

The Female Priest called ’Old Age Striking King,’ along with her high-level cohort, Flat-headed Brother, had trampled over the entire Alliance, and no one wanted to suffer from that stench attack.

Especially since being half suffocated by it would get one beaten up by the unlucky comrades who were implicated.

Even if it were their Alliance Hierarch ’Snow Cloud Peak’ daring to cause such trouble, he would still get a beating.

But jokes aside, the Flat-headed Brothers, whether the large Wolverines or the little Honey Badgers, did not end their contracts with the Undead Tribe but instead followed them into the Otherworld.

Often, the Undead had to desperately suppress these Flat-headed Brothers’ eager challenges because the more dangerous it was, the more they wanted to fight.

The scuffle ended quickly, and the Undead began debriefing ’Young Master.’

It was a brainstorm session for all the commanders.

They needed to know every little monster’s skills and warning ranges like the back of their hand, not to mention the BOSS’s skills and casting intervals.

Even though these commanders might not perform the counter tactics themselves, they always found quicker, more efficient ways to complete them.

Their goal wasn’t to achieve perfection but to ensure that every member could at least pass.

Hill gently closed the window; he didn’t need to know how the Undead would pass the Legendary Trial.

He just needed to know that before long, the Undead Tribe would produce a legend of their own.

Then neither the Kingdom of the Blood Moon, with Rose backing it, nor the War God Kingdom currently besieged by demons, would pose a hindrance anymore.

Hill felt he might not have much more time in this world and perked up in spirit, starting on his new equipment.

Sometimes taking an unusual route can yield unexpected results. Though he stopped halfway to make a Mithril Orb for Alice, Hill had a better idea for his new equipment.

The liver kings of the Undead Tribe completed the trial in just five days.

Hill’s familiar acquaintances in the Alliance started heading to the mini palaces in groups, after summarizing the experiences of those who had succeeded.

While few could make it on the first try, after one or two failures, most advanced to Legendary status.

However, they could only choose a single Law for their Legendary skills.

The Knights, in addition to the Elemental Series, could also choose the Eight Virtues as their Law. While this was stronger, they had to completely embody their role. If they acted against their Law, they had to undergo a pilgrimage of atonement.

If they went completely against their Law, their Legendary powers would be sealed, and they would have to retake the Legendary Trial to change their attribute.

But such individuals could no longer choose any of the virtues to advance to Legendary again.

When Hill heard this, he realized what path William had chosen for his cousin.

A Knight of the Gods or a Guardian God from the Gods of Time and Space is likely to emerge.

William even took control of the Undead to ensure Spencer’s path to divinity wouldn’t go astray.

Although compared to the strict requirement for indigenous Knights to align body and soul to advance successfully, the Undead didn’t need to control their heart; they just needed to avoid doing anything wrong.

But that was enough to make many think the game designers were sick in the head, cursing William left and right.

William had indeed paid a huge price to protect Spencer!

Of course, if one felt they couldn’t do it, they could choose to ascend through the Elemental Series which had no requirements.

But Hill was sure that most of the Undead Knights would choose the path of virtue.

Those who enjoyed playing assassins and stealthy secondary characters had chosen Swordsmen or Mages from the start.

After all, they had strong attack power and quick getaways. Although they were squishy, to them, once caught, all classes were dead anyway.

But those who favored the Knight profession mostly wanted to try what it was really like to be a true Knight.

Especially the foreigners, they were thrilled to walk the same path their ancestors did in the game, almost all crazily choosing virtue Knights.

But to quote Lady ’Old Age Striking King,’ in a world without Deities, the less one has of something, the more it gets emphasized. Who doesn’t know that their ancestors might have had anything but ’virtue’?

Hill could tell from the very affirmative expressions of her companions that this highly advanced technological world really resembled her homeland.

Perhaps the God of Time and Space and William chose this world for that sense of familiarity.

Though they couldn’t see it any longer, the thought that their own nation might one day reach this level must have been comforting enough to bear any sort of nonsensical babbling!

While the max-level members of the Undead Tribe were crazily undertaking legendary trials, those who hadn’t reached max level had already set off for the Kingdom of the Black Moon.

It was a pity that this time they didn’t have the charming dark-skinned lady to lead the way, causing them to take many wrong turns, but the Undead Tribe still made it to the border of the Kingdom of the Black Moon.

In the overwhelming battles, the Kingdom of the Black Moon had no strength left to resist.

However, according to the Undead Tribe, most people from the Kingdom of the Black Moon had already fled to the War God Kingdom when their gods suddenly turned from devils into Shaer.

The Duke of Demons from the Blood Moon Kingdom, who lived on the Moon Halo, would have definitely felt the switch of his neighbor if he were still alive.

So, he had either been killed by Shaer or had secretly become someone else.

Nevertheless, the God of the Blood Moon had issued many divine decrees, and they did not find anything amiss because the orders given were evil enough.

But an Evil God of hell wouldn’t arbitrarily deal with a Duke of Demons; only someone from the Abyss, an enemy to demons, could have done so.

Therefore, no demon from the Blood Moon Kingdom would dare go there; even their own citizens had fled.

Only the War God, who was fiercely battling the demons, seemed still to be their original self.

It was only they who might still have the option to open Hell’s Gate to escape, so all the devils in the world, aware of the situation, rushed toward the War God Kingdom.

As for the humans corrupted by them, their souls already belonged to the devils, and what the devils needed was for them to die soon to become the currency of demons, with no devil to care for them.

When the Undead inadvertently died and returned, they were surprised: Why had the devils collected so much gold to take with them, as if they had never seen money before, and not left a single Gold Coin behind?

Then, with a reminder from the Guardians, they flipped through the introduction to devils and Hell on their tablets.

The currency of Hell is both souls and gold. In Hell, gold can buy souls.

Hill listened amusedly as some of the Undead discussed whether William, if he entered Hell, could buy one of the nine layers of hell and become a Lord of Hell.

This was followed by a direct divine punishment from an angry William.

The charge was cursing the King, an unforgivable sin, and he was struck by lightning.

When those unabashed Undead Knights cursed and swore as they emerged from the Resurrection Array, many of the Undead who knew about this incident tried cursing William to discover that they weren’t struck by lightning, thus confirming that William could still be cursed, but not in relation to Hell.

The Undead Tribe didn’t understand why this was so, but Hill could somewhat understand William’s thinking.

If any Lord of Hell watching from the outside took this seriously, they would definitely target corrupting William into becoming a Duke of Demons under their command.

William did not wish to live every day under the scrutiny of devils.

Otherwise, even if he became a deity, the Great Monarchs of demons would never give up looking for his weaknesses.

Compared to demons, devils are much more patient.

The Undead Tribe soon came up with a series of strategies to deal with the Trial Space.

As long as the BOSS wasn’t controlled by a real person, the skills were cast according to a set pattern, and over time, the Undead Tribe could always find various secrets that even the clumsy could use to pass the trial.

When the ten-thousandth member of the Undead Tribe passed the legendary trial and headed toward the Kingdom of the Black Moon, William was ready to set off again.

He planned to pass through the Teleportation Array and directly reach the current Plaza of the Gods, then continue along, building Teleportation Arrays all the way to the end of the Kingdom of the Black Moon.

And then from the Kingdom of the Black Moon, he would go directly to the Blood Moon Kingdom, and finally, to the War God Kingdom to conclude everything.

If the demons and devils hadn’t finished their battle by then, they could not blame William for capturing them all in one fell swoop.

Hill felt that by then, William would possess tens of thousands of Pseudo-Legends.

Even if compared with true legends, the Undead Tribe was much weaker, but their numbers were always an unsolvable issue.

Hill, after thinking it over, decided to follow along.

He, too, was a bit curious about the identity of the demon impersonating the War God.

Hill had thought that, standing alone against so many Demon Lords, the War God would have opened Hell’s Gate and fled by now.

Otherwise, he would have been torn to shreds by the demons, dying and returning to hell, his body sacrificed to the Abyss.

Devils are not so easily eradicated creatures; they always have a backup plan in their lairs, ensuring that even if they’re killed in the material world, they can be resurrected in hell.

However, every resurrection involves severe loss, even dropping from the power of a Duke, and perhaps that is why this faux War God held out until now.

But not even opening Hell’s Gate and showing the spirit of fierce resistance with a band of desperate devils made Hill suspect he was witnessing a fake devil.

But most likely, Hill glanced at the starry sky, one of his patron Great Monarchs of devils was lurking out there, right?
