Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 579: Chapter 377: The Recalled Undead Tribe

William couldn’t help but sigh; Naven’s heart was indeed still full of resentment.

Indeed, no matter how much heartache the Spencer Family had in making such a decision, or even if they deluded themselves into thinking the outcome was good for everyone, it was Naven, who had always been wholeheartedly devoted to his family, who was the one abandoned.

He might not hate the Spencer Family, but it was utterly impossible for him to consider the family’s interests and disadvantages in everything he did as he had in the past.

Logically, William should have been pleased.

The guardian deity of his choosing would now follow him with complete loyalty; he would possess all of Spencer’s undivided faithfulness.

But William still felt a surge of dissatisfaction with the Spencer Family.

He couldn’t help but laugh, realizing that human nature is indeed biased—whether one becomes a deity or not is the same.

”Of course, there will always be a place by my side for Naven,” William said with a smile, leaning forward to clap Spencer on the shoulder, ”My dear cousin will forever be a member of my family.”

Spencer slightly closed his eyes and then reopened them, having held his breath from the moment he arrived until William acknowledged him as a family member, before he finally allowed himself to relax.

He had known for a long time that once William ascended to divine status and abandoned his mortal body, he would no longer recognize those relatives from the Saral Family.

William and the God of Time and Space were truly one family.

The true deity of the Saral Family was Young William, while the goddess of the Spencer Family was the Goddess of Joy.

Even though still part of the Gods of Time and Space, William would no longer have any ties with them in the future.

But Spencer was unwilling to let their relationship be fixed as monarch and minister.

William was the companion he had grown up with and the only relative left after he departed from his family.

Perhaps it was his own selfishness, but Spencer really didn’t want to lose this last family member.

Whether William was aware or not, Spencer was already quite content, his home still intact.

Standing up to take his leave from William, Spencer decided that while his memory was still fresh, he should write down the training method for Guardian Knights as soon as possible.

If William’s Royal Palace were filled with Legendary Knights, his King wouldn’t have to be so cautiously evasive anymore.

The devouring of the Primordial Crystal by the core of the Divine Artifact outside the Star Gate was very slow, taking as much as half a month.

It seemed that even powerful Divine Artifacts had difficulty assimilating such a rare treasure born with a world.

Even though the Primordial Crystal retained only a small portion of its original might due to the torment of the Demon Lord, and half of it had already been refined.

William looked out the window every day at the splendid Magic Array, the Divine Artifact nearly frozen midair, and it served as a silent reminder to himself not to get conceited.

He may look unbeatable, and wherever the Undead went, they met little resistance, but that was because outside the world, the World Tree and Coron were blocking those powerful demons and devils.

Even so, had it not been for his decent luck, a Shaer entering this world silently could have completely destroyed them.

William opened the jewel box in his hand, Shaer’s handkerchief a constant reminder that he should never think he had become too powerful.

But still, William closed the glittery box gently. He knew he would reach that stage eventually.

He still had ample time.

Hill spent three days holed up in his room, finally completing the Mithril Sphere he was working on.

It took so much time because he intended to craft 10,081 facets on the spherical surface.

Then he handed the Mithril Sphere to Alice, instructing her to hold the sphere every day and use the Power of the Sun and Power of the Silvermoon on it.

Alice, cleverly, lay down with the sphere right beside the Holy Relic Painting.

Hill knew that from thereon, it was up to Alice to complete the task.

Only when the black-gold Mithril Sphere was completely transformed by the powers of the Sun and the Moon into a golden and silver transparent Spell Orb would Hill proceed to the next step.

In theory, a crystal ball would have been better for such a Spell Orb, but Hill wanted Alice to be able to use it as a cat toy, batting it around, even if she were drained of all her Mana.

To crush all those wretches who thought they could defeat her after exhausting her Mana!

Hill figured no one else would use a Mithril Sphere in such a way, too extravagant, but that was what made it so covert.

As its master, Alice would not feel its weight when using it, tossing it effortlessly no matter how forcefully.

Hill took out a Divine Scroll made from Sunflower petals and began to seal away some powerful Divine Arts.

This world of Gerns seemed difficult but was also simple.

The friend-and-foe distinction was very clear; there was no need to discern right from wrong, one only needed to push forward, the only question being whether one could push through.

And the Mages of Gerns World were basically in a state of extinction; there was really no need for Hill to leave the house.

He might at most exchange knowledge systems with the Green Leaf Elves, but what Hill wanted to observe was the knowledge of Human Mages.

But such things as Primordial Crystals aren’t ever-present, and not just anyone can research and understand the Weave.

For the next world, if there were no problems, Hill planned to travel alone with Alice to see it for themselves.

So before that, he hoped Alice would become used to the weapons prepared for her.

He was confident that he could turn this mithril sphere into a Demi-God Artifact as well.

By that time, Alice would just need to use the Power of the Silvermoon to pose as a Magical Beast like a Shadow Cat.

With the Power of the Silvermoon wrapped around her, and without direct contact with people, Alice’s status as a Spirit of Nature would be hard to discern.

After all, these worlds all have their problems, and there must be many who wouldn’t hesitate to harm a Spirit of Nature.

Instead, a Demigod Level Magical Beast of the Moon System won’t cause much trouble.

In any world’s Silvermoon, as long as she is living well, no one would dare to offend her lightly.

Hill’s dedicated work finally came to an end on a day a month later.

Even with the windows closed, the noise outside was enough to disturb him.

Hill stood by the second-floor window and looked out curiously. Why have all the Undead returned?

A large banner suddenly rose between the Star Gate and the small palace.

This vast empty space, after the Undead had left, only had Hill’s two small houses standing in a corner.

Now, it was occupied by the endless Undead seated on the ground.

The banner was probably directly controlled by a Divine Artifact and was not like the single-sided one in Hill’s Domain.

It was made up of three equally sized large banners forming a triangle.

No matter where one sat, they could see the content inside.

Hill opened the window, chose a spot with a good view, sat down, and allowed the Oak Spirit to broadcast directly to the pendant inside which Alice and List were watching.

If it weren’t for the huge banner created by the God of Time and Space, in the Fantasy World, the only way to see sights from other places would be through the Heart of the Treant that can connect two spaces.

Even the Elves would have a hard time possessing a Heart of the Treant that would allow cross-space communication, a treasure worth breaking heads for.

However, the emergence of the God of Time and Space caused many people willing to risk being hunted by the Elves for cutting down ancient trees to abandon that route.

The Heart of the Treant from Teraxil had become unsellable.

Only Kings or Dwarves were interested in these things before.

But in all honesty, the Kings of Teraxil really couldn’t afford to pay much.

Even if there were a King with the strategic vision to appreciate the value of real-time visuals from afar, he would not necessarily be willing to empty his national treasury to buy one, and now, the human Kings can’t afford to disregard their own Faction anymore.

The Dwarves who truly didn’t care have gone extinct.

The only one in Teraxil who claimed he would take any material, Hill, would not actually take the Heart of the Treant.

Although Hill never said he wouldn’t buy the Heart of the Treant, taking such an item to his Domain would lead to only one fate: a dead end.

Even those from the Kind Alignment who took it there would face the same consequence.

The Heart of the Treant is an existence that cannot be concealed, and if it’s one that’s been maliciously chopped down, whoever holds it would hear its wails, wails that won’t fade even after ten thousand years.

If anyone truly believed that it had nothing to do with them, and they were just facilitating a transaction for someone else, then they would be feigning ignorance.

Whoever dared to make a move would be deemed an accomplice, at least that’s what Hill believed.

The huge banner lit up, and Spencer appeared on it.

He held a thick booklet in his hands and solemnly announced that Teraxil’s Knights could now follow his path of Guardianship.

Moreover, the Knights who advanced this way were no longer the flawed beings that could only live for eight hundred years, but like Legendary Mages, would have a minimum of three thousand years of life.

And they could evolve from Legendary to almost Eternity as a Demigod.

However, becoming a Demigod depended on the bearing capacity of the Law, a single Knight’s Law might only accommodate a fixed number of Demi-God Knights, and it would be difficult for later Undead to advance further.

Therefore, Spencer wished his peers could find their own paths as soon as possible.

Then, he opened the thick book and began reading out the cultivation methods one by one.

Hill blinked and stuck his head out to glance at the big stone.

When did William come up with the Eight Virtues of Knights!

With this development, the advancement of Knights depended solely on their own efforts, at least until they reached Legendary status, without having to seek the blessings of a specific Deity.

The power of the Nobles would actually become stronger!

At the same time, they could no longer oppress the common people as they had in the past.

Spencer obviously intended to make this public to the whole world!

From now on, the Knights who joined the Grand Temples would either be true believers or opportunists in need of Temple resources.

That’s good, Hill thought silently, the status of the common people would probably rise a lot.

In the future, even if there were many who worshipped Deities, they could only show their brightest side and had to demonstrate their appreciation for every follower, otherwise, the followers would really just walk away.

Of course, this was quite agonizing for the Undead to listen to.

If it weren’t for the Silence Magic Array that William had activated, there would probably be curses everywhere below.
