Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1195: Chapter 657: Between VX and D House_2

Zhou Lan said, ”D’s family has been eager for you to wear their dresses for a long time. The head of the Asian region contacts me every now and then, asking if you have any public events coming up, and if you need to wear their D dresses. They’ve even sent me two dresses, each priced in the five figures. I can see they are determined to have you.”

Zhou Yun smiled.

She didn’t plan to ditch VX to become D’s spokesperson; she just didn’t want to be tied to VX as if it were the only brand in front of the public and media.

Moreover, different brands have different styles, and Zhou Yun didn’t want to limit herself to just one.

However, when Zheng Xiaowen saw Zhou Yun walking the red carpet at the ”Zhongshan” screening in a specially tailored D dress, she couldn’t help but feel a bit anxious.

Zhou Yun’s growth in the past two years has been so strong that it exceeded Zheng Xiaowen’s expectations. Of course, her collaboration with VX has helped VX expand its market in Mainland China rapidly.

Zhou Yun’s fame and immense popularity have made VX’s sales quite significant.

Zheng Xiaowen actually thought about spending a huge endorsement fee to renew Zhou Yun’s contract for five years.

But the plan was vetoed by the other partners.

On one hand, they were reluctant to spend such a large endorsement fee upfront; on the other hand, they were worried if Zhou Yun could continue bringing such substantial benefits to VX in the next five years.

”What if she doesn’t stay popular?” someone questioned.

Zheng Xiaowen rebutted at the time, ”What if other brands poach her? Which brand doesn’t want to bring Zhou Yun over now?”

However, no matter what she said, the other partners just didn’t agree.

The plan had to be shelved.

Yet, the senior management was evidently concerned about the issue Zheng Xiaowen pointed out, that if Zhou Yun didn’t renew her contract after it expires, no one knew how the change in the spokesperson would affect VX’s brand development in China.

Currently, VX’s revenue in China already constitutes almost half of the global market size, expanding so quickly primarily because Zhou Yun and Wen Xi, these two spokespeople, have brought fame to VX.

Therefore, VX wanted to tie Zhou Yun deeply, proposing an annual endorsement fee of 30 million yuan for Zhou Yun to renew for three years, with the condition that all red carpet dresses must be VX.

Zheng Xiaowen originally thought this price would be enough to persuade Zhou Yun, but who knew Zhou Lan soon refused.

Zhou Yun’s refusal left Zheng Xiaowen very worried.

Zheng Xiaowen felt she should personally meet Zhou Yun.

Only by meeting Zhou Yun face to face and discussing directly could she ascertain Zhou Yun’s thoughts.

Ever since their first meeting, many things between Zheng Xiaowen and Zhou Yun were discussed directly.

Conversely, as both sides became increasingly successful, face-to-face discussions became rare; more and more matters turned into official business between the teams.

This is not a good phenomenon.

Zheng Xiaowen firmly believed in the power of celebrities. And she knew very well that VX’s position in the Chinese market was not stable, not like D, G, or V where there was already a very solid brand image. Celebrity artists endorsing those brands elevate their own status; VX hasn’t reached this level yet.

Zheng Xiaowen knew VX couldn’t afford to lose Zhou Yun.

Even if they lost Wen Xi, they couldn’t lose Zhou Yun.

Zheng Xiaowen made a swift decision, bought a ticket, and decided to fly to Berlin to meet Zhou Yun.

As she hurriedly purchased a ticket and landed in Berlin, rushing to the hotel where Zhou Yun was staying, she happened to catch Zhou Yun heading to the airport.

Zhou Yun was returning to the United States to attend the Golden Ball awards ceremony.

Zheng Xiaowen’s sudden appearance shocked both Zhou Yun and Zhou Lan.

The impact of Zhou Yun wearing D’s dress on the red carpet received positive feedback, being named as the best red carpet look by several fashion websites.

D was very satisfied, posting Zhou Yun’s red carpet photos on their website and official social media accounts, directly calling her a top Chinese actress.

This collaboration naturally drew attention and speculation from many, as throughout the year, Zhou Yun had worn D’s clothes several times. Each time, regardless of the event’s size, whether it was a red carpet, D provided specially tailored series, evidently valuing Zhou Yun greatly. And each time Zhou Yun wore D’s clothes, not only China’s official social media posted updates, but even the headquarters website would post updates, clearly entering a beautiful ”probing relationship period” with Zhou Yun.
