Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1159: Chapter 647: Endings and Beginnings

Now the situation is basically clear.

Jin Lin was deceived.

Tan Yuanyang didn’t even know what to say. He certainly hated the photographer named Liu Xi, but deep down, he was also somewhat frustrated with Jin Lin’s naivety and recklessness.

What left him speechless was that Jin Lin, as a female celebrity, sent her private photos so easily, even if she thought the person was Huang Zicheng? Moreover, she hadn’t even confirmed whether it was Huang Zicheng, and was deceived by an imposter.

He really wanted to scold Jin Lin.

But the current situation didn’t allow him to do so.

Right now, Jin Lin, having discovered she was deceived, is in a state of seclusion. This is not the time to review the entire incident with her.

Moreover, at this moment, Tan Yuanyang didn’t have the time to discuss these matters with Jin Lin, as he had a lot of affairs to handle.

On one hand, he had to respond to hundreds of media outlets, and on the other hand, he had to deal with the impact of this incident on Jin Lin’s various partners.

What Tan Yuanyang feared the most now was the truth of this matter being exposed online. If that happened, a lot of people would surely mock Jin Lin, saying her getting tricked was due to her own foolishness.

In this day and age, it seems society is becoming more modern and open, but there are still quite a few people who care about and impose the so-called virtues of chastity.

Tan Yuanyang could easily issue a statement, discussing women’s freedom and true gender relations, personal privacy, and what constitutes the true original sin, but no matter how logically sound and coherent his statement might be, it couldn’t change that stubborn and decrepit voice in the societal mindset.

And for a female celebrity, as long as that voice exists, her image will continually be under attack, which means trouble for her and trouble for the brands collaborating with her.

Therefore, the final result is that even though Tan Yuanyang can logically clear Jin Lin’s name—this incident can’t really be blamed on Jin Lin’s part, at most blaming her naivety for trusting a wolf in Huang Zicheng’s sheep’s clothing on the internet. However, under various stigmatizing attacks, no partner is willing to bear these troubles and risks.

They can simply choose a female celebrity with less risk.

Jin Lin is not a big star nor does she hold an irreplaceable position, there isn’t enough benefit for partners to willingly endure these risks.

...

But just when Tan Yuanyang was overwhelmed, Kang Xin suddenly visited Jin Lin and spoke with her seriously for half an hour.

Regarding what Kang Xin and Jin Lin talked about, no one else knew, not even Tan Yuanyang.

Only after Kang Xin’s talk with Jin Lin, she shortly returned to the set.

Coincidentally, after Jin Lin finished filming the last scene, the police suddenly issued the report of the official investigation results.

The entire incident was just as they described before. Liu Xi knew Jin Lin liked Huang Zicheng, and was aware that Huang Zicheng didn’t have feelings for Jin Lin, rejecting her, so he registered an alternate account to pretend to be Huang Zicheng and added Jin Lin as a WeChat friend, telling Jin Lin he couldn’t date due to his rising career nor could have any scandals, and that this was the only way to talk and chat with her. Especially with Zhou Yun present in the crew, their matter shouldn’t be revealed to Zhou Yun; otherwise, it would affect his career development, because Zhou Yun didn’t want to see them dating, which would affect work performance. Initially, Jin Lin was skeptical, but as Liu Xi impersonated Huang Zicheng and sent her several photos of him working on set (all taken by Liu Xi), and even sent photos from Huang Zicheng’s perspective showing Jin Lin on set, she truly believed. Liu Xi kept chatting with Jin Lin online under the guise of Huang Zicheng, leading to Jin Lin sending ”Huang Zicheng” photos.

Liu Xi ended up posting these photos on that online forum because he had an argument with someone there. Someone insulted Liu Xi, calling him a dead fat nerd whom women would never fancy. Liu Xi was extremely angry, felt humiliated, and in a rage posted the private photos Jin Lin sent him to the forum to prove he had a very beautiful girlfriend — initially, Liu Xi thought a relatively unknown female celebrity like Jin Lin would be hard to recognize, ultimately leading the situation to escalate unexpectedly.
