Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1169: Chapter 650: Wen Xi in the United States (2)

Wen Xi: ”Yes, now the collaboration models between streaming platforms in the United States and the Korean film industry have achieved a lot of success. I guess quite a few people are eyeing our domestic talent, right?”

Zhou Yun nodded.

Over the past year, production companies in the United States have indeed been making lots of moves, seeking collaborations with directors, actors, and screenwriters.

Zhou Yun herself has received quite a few invitations.

”Nowadays, every streaming platform wants a piece of our domestic market, but it’s tough. They can only seek collaboration with domestic platforms.” Zhou Yun said, ”For instance, this time ’Deep Sea’ is simultaneous release on Yuehai and Paimon’s online platforms. Actually, our domestic dramas can be released simultaneously abroad, but foreign dramas rarely have simultaneous releases here. Once they miss the timing for a simultaneous release, in this current environment where piracy is rampant, any later releases will see much reduced profits.”

”Exactly.” Wen Xi nodded, smiled, ”But Xiao Yun, no matter what, you are now one of the most successful actresses from our country on the international stage. In the past, when I worked abroad, I often heard people talk about their favorite celebrities and films, rarely our own country’s. But a lot has changed this past year; more and more people know you, recognize you. You might not fully grasp it, but in those moments, I felt exceptionally proud.”

”Sister Wen Xi, many girls in our country feel the same pride seeing you, including me.” Zhou Yun said, ”You’re a representative of our nation’s model in the world’s top fashion events, a model that represents the face of Chinese girls. It’s truly remarkable. When I was in school, many girls around me saw you as an idol.”

”Really? Your classmates paid a lot of attention to the fashion circle?” Wen Xi asked, somewhat surprised.

Zhou Yun: ”Believe me, their attention to the fashion world is much greater than to the film industry.”

Wen Xi laughed, ”Don’t be so serious. I’m just a bit surprised. To be honest, our modeling profession seems glamorous, but we rarely encounter fans or idol worship.”

”Sister Wen Xi, that’s because the people who admire you are relatively rational. I remember when everyone focused on you, it was because your fashion attitude, style, and expressions made us feel cool; it’s the kind of person we aspired to be.” Zhou Yun said, ”Actually, you’re right; I feel my classmates’ admiration for you is not like an idol fanatic but more like appreciation. They’re very proud; it’s hard for them to genuinely admire someone, unlike the entertainment celebrities who are madly chased by fans. They can hardly impress my classmates.”

Wen Xi said, ”I’ve actually visited A University once.”

”I know.” Zhou Yun nodded, ”I was present when you visited A University.”

Wen Xi widened her eyes in disbelief, asking, ”You were there?”

”Yes.” Zhou Yun laughed, ”You even gave a speech, talking about your experiences of auditioning everywhere abroad. You said the uncertainty of results during auditions was most unsettling, and eight out of ten of these anxieties would eventually face failure. It’s through repeated failures that you recognized a truth, that even being hit so many times, you still never lost the belief that you are a good model. So no matter what difficulties you encounter, you’ll remember your confidence and unyielding spirit at those times. You encouraged us to find fields in future choices that aren’t easily thwarted or abandoned by others, even if others deny you ten thousand times, as long as you stay confident, without hesitation or self-doubt, you’ll surely find opportunities for success.”

Wen Xi showed a look of amazement.

”Xiao Yun, you remember so clearly?” Wen Xi was genuinely shocked, covering her mouth with both hands.

Zhou Yun smiled.

”Your speech left a deep impression on me.” Zhou Yun said, ”Frankly, I feel quite embarrassed because before that day, I always thought models generally lacked depth in thinking. At that time, I held some prejudices against this industry.”

Wen Xi laughed.

”I’m already used to it.” She said, ”Actually, you don’t need deep thought in modeling. I have to admit that to enter this field, people only look at your appearance and physical attributes.”
