Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1173: Chapter 651: Event_3

Both scripts are independently written by renowned screenwriters.

The first script tells the life story of an ancient oiran, a biographical film adapted from a real historical figure.

Zhou Yun had actually read the script once on the plane before.

She felt a bit conflicted; the script seemed to be lacking in flavor, yet it was also a pity to discard it.

The script itself is written quite well, and the character’s fate is certainly full of twists and turns, making it a highly appealing role for acting.

However, Zhou Yun felt that the story of this script was a bit too cliché, or rather, the screenwriter hadn’t written it deeply enough or added any fresh ideas to it; it was a script that scored between seventy to eighty points.

The second script tells a modern story about a woman living in poverty who ultimately inspires herself to rescue her life through her own efforts.

She had read half of this script before but didn’t finish it, mainly because she wasn’t particularly drawn to it.

The evaluation opinion stated that this script story was also adapted from a real person, but with a lot of artistic treatment, and the key lies in its high compatibility with audience preferences in the film market in recent years.

If handed to an unknown actor to play, this story wouldn’t be enough to draw people to the cinema, but if Zhou Yun was willing to act, with such a story theme and touching inspirational story, the box office was estimated to exceed ten billion.

Zhou Yun wasn’t particularly satisfied with either of these two scripts.

In a way, she’s become pickier now.

She even felt that the characters in these two scripts weren’t as attractive to her as the shampoo girl in ”Warm Little Horse.”

But to be fair, these two scripts were indeed well-written with a high degree of completion. If there’s a reliable director to helm them and put together a reliable team, they could actually make two quite good films.

However, these two films didn’t hold much attraction for Zhou Yun.

These two films wouldn’t provide much boost for Zhou Yun, conversely, if Zhou Yun didn’t perform in these scripts, it would actually be difficult for the producers to give the green light.

Because such biographical stories, if not cast with particularly suitable and box office-worthy actors, don’t sell well at the ticket counters.

Zhou Yun pondered for a long time and messaged Zhou Lan, saying to forget about these two scripts and not take them.

Zhou Lan responded immediately: ”What do you think about having Xiao Jing act in them?”

Zhou Yun thought carefully and said: ”If Xiao Jing acts, regardless of the future performance, this acting opportunity will surely be a significant boost for her.”

Zhou Lan: ”I think so too, Xiao Jing has never acted in such a biographical film before, I’ll see if I can help secure it for her.”

Strictly speaking, Wang Jing still can’t handle being the main lead in such a film.

Zhou Yun guessed the film company might not believe in Wang Jing’s ability to draw box office.

It’s not an ensemble cast, if it were an ensemble cast, the film company would feel much less pressure using Wang Jing, as she wouldn’t have to carry the box office alone, she fits well as a part of the acting lineup, especially after just winning Best Newcomer.

Because she slept late, Zhou Yun only woke up at ten the next morning.

Fortunately, there was no work in the morning.

In the afternoon, she had to prepare to attend Paimon’s ”Deep Sea” audience meet-and-greet event.

Zhou Yun was curious about how many audiences would join such a Mandarin show at the streaming media event in the United States.

As it turned out, there were quite a few people at the venue.

She met He Wenyun backstage and hugged her.

”Long time no see.” He Wenyun laughed and said, ”I haven’t congratulated you in person yet on your Golden Ball nomination!”

Zhou Yun laughed and said, ”Thank you.”

After the two appeared, they both received applause and cheers from the entire audience.

It was evident that the audiences present were familiar with both of them.

Recently, Zhou Yun and He Wenyun indeed received a lot of exposure in the United States.

Zhou Yun was nominated for a Golden Ball, and with both ”Behind the Scenes” and ”Life,” He Wenyun was part of the Spielberg-directed film that premiered, attending many events with the crew, followed by announcements of several major projects with Paimon, giving her substantial media exposure, and drawing significant attention.

The event arrangement for the audience meet-and-greet was simple, involving some Q&A interactions with a few people on stage, audience questions, followed by watching edited clips of ”Deep Sea” with Zhou Yun and He Wenyun sharing some behind-the-scenes stories of the shoot.

The whole event went smoothly without any awkward moments, ending with a group photo with the entire audience after the event.

Zhou Yun posted the group photo on her social media accounts, tagging He Wenyun.

He Wenyun immediately shared it and sent several heart emojis.
