Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1181: Chapter 654: One-Woman Show (Part 2)

Among them is Elizabeth.

She said: This is my good friend Zhou Yun acting in it. I watched the first three episodes in one go, and I’m really eager to know the rest of the story!

Zhou Yun was extremely surprised.

She came to the United States this time without meeting Elizabeth, nor emailing her, yet Elizabeth took the initiative to recommend her show on her Twitter.

Zhou Yun emailed Elizabeth: Dear, are you watching ”Deep Sea”?

Elizabeth replied quickly: Yes, you look so beautiful in this series, and your acting is really good.

Zhou Yun: Thanks, I saw your recommendation on Twitter, I was taken aback, didn’t expect you were following it.

Elizabeth: I’ve been staying at home recently, feeling bored, so I’ve been watching shows. I saw on the news that you’re now in Los Angeles?

Zhou Yun: Yes, there are several jobs in Los Angeles recently.

Elizabeth: I’m in New York, wanted to meet up with you, but I’m in a bit of trouble now. I’ll find you after the storm passes.

Zhou Yun knew Elizabeth meant the incident where Elizabeth was attacked by Gediyah’s fans for cursing Gediyah.

Zhou Yun didn’t ask Elizabeth why she didn’t reveal the truth of the matter—obviously, Elizabeth must have her own considerations, so she decided not to speak up even though the situation was evidently in her favor.

She replied: Okay, I’ll wait for you to ask me out.

Elizabeth: [smiley face].

Zhou Yun actually highly treasures her friendship with Elizabeth.

Her only two celebrity friends abroad are Cristina and Elizabeth.

Both of them took the initiative to befriend her, and then the friendship began.

After Zhou Lan landed in Los Angeles, the first thing she did was meet with several companies interested in signing Zhou Yun’s overseas agent rights.

By the time she could finally meet Zhou Yun, it was already her third day in the United States.

These days, ”Deep Sea” has entered its second week of broadcasting, and episodes four through six stirred up topics successfully domestically, especially the sisterhood between Zhou Yun and Yuk Chu in the series, which resonated greatly.

In the show, there’s a plot where Zhou Yun’s ex-boyfriend slanders Yuk Chu, claiming she slept with him while he was still dating Zhou Yun, aiming to create a rift between Zhou Yun and Yuk Chu and sabotage their joint investigation. Viewing from a God-like perspective, Zhou Yun believes her ex-boyfriend’s words and breaks up with Yuk Chu. Yuk Chu gets into a heated argument with Zhou Yun at a dinner, almost flipping the table, parting unhappily. Everyone thinks they’ve broken up, but ultimately, when they catch the person spreading rumors disguised as Zhou Yun’s name, Zhou Yun’s ex-boyfriend, the story turns around. Everyone realizes Zhou Yun and Yuk Chu’s breakup was an act designed to eliminate Zhou Yun’s ex-boyfriend’s vigilance. Zhou Yun and Yuk Chu went their separate ways, collaborated, and found evidence of Zhou Yun’s ex-boyfriend spreading rumors in her name.

This plot occurs mainly in episodes five and six.

According to many viewers, these two episodes were particularly satisfying. Viewers who genuinely believed Zhou Yun was deceived experienced a great relief at the end.

Especially Yuk Chu.

Previously, the attention was mainly focused on Zhou Yun.

But Yuk Chu also showcased her acting prowess in these two episodes.

Feeling aggrieved and crying when slandered by Zhou Yun’s ex-boyfriend, erupting in the quarrel with Zhou Yun, showing indifference post-breakup with Zhou Yun, due to the plot arrangements, in the short span of two episodes, Yuk Chu demonstrated her diverse abilities like a whirlwind, greatly shocking the audience.

This was the opportunity Zhou Lan had been waiting for.

Only when viewers were truly shocked could promoting Yuk Chu’s acting skills resonate deeply.

Meanwhile, in the United States, Zhou Yun almost appeared at a public event every other day.

This period coincided with the movie award season and various media and platform year-end activities.

After Zhou Yun received a Golden Globe nomination, her name caught many people’s attention. Knowing she was in the U.S., they sent her invitations.

Following the thought of ”since I’m here,” it’s good to meet more people, and the more exposure she gets, the higher her fame becomes, which is beneficial for the airing of ”Deep Sea.”

At the same time, ”Behind the Scenes” was re-released in America, capitalizing on the award season buzz to rake in more box office.

Zhou Yun and Wang Jing met several times.

Zhou Lan really wanted to use this period of exposure to make Wang Jing get access to some Hollywood films, playing a female supporting role would be nice too.
