Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1186: Chapter 655: International Grand Prize (Part 4)

Afraid that the assistant might not be attentive to the artist, yet worried that the assistant’s intentions are skewed, relying on borrowed power.

Zhou Yun thought of Zheng Xiaojue and Liu Yun, to be honest, both are excellent assistants—one lively, the other silent, both have personalities and moral qualities that Zhou Yun trusts.

She’s already somewhat unable to do without them.

Moreover, their greatest advantage is that no matter how well Zhou Yun treats them, they never become arrogant at critical moments and always maintain their principles.

Zhou Lan said, ”By the way, there’s one more thing, the 54th Qingmu Awards have started organizing submissions. ’Behind the Scenes’ plans to nominate both you and Teacher Zeng Lili for Best Actress, and nominate Xiao Jing for Best Supporting Actress and Best Newcomer.”

Zhou Yun was last year’s Best Actress winner at the Qingmu Awards, and she won with ’Life’.

”That’s pretty good.”

”Have you thought about winning again?” Zhou Lan asked.

Zhou Yun shook her head, ”I don’t dare to think about it.”

”Haha, I thought the same, last year you won several big awards, which was a pleasant surprise. I suspect that the Qingmu Awards judges won’t give you this award again.” Zhou Lan said, ”However, as last year’s Best Actress, they’ll probably invite you this year to present the award for Best Actor.”

”If they invite me, I’ll go.” Zhou Yun said.

”They’ll definitely invite you, so be prepared. Just don’t know if Brother Chi can get a nomination this year.” Zhou Lan said, ”I’ve heard rumors that ’Laissez-faire’ might also be released during the Spring Festival. If that’s the case, it can make the Qingmu Awards submission.”

Zhou Yun said, ”Really? ’Laissez-faire’ is also going on the Spring Festival?”

”Still undecided, I just heard the news. Now, the Spring Festival is a battleground for major film companies, the competition is fierce. ’Two Tigers’ has already taken a spot early, Shen Yao’s new film has another, generally only seven to eight major films typically fit into the line-up.” Zhou Lan said, ”’Laissez-faire’ doesn’t quite match the Spring Festival family-friendly atmosphere, but since it’s a star-studded cast, if it’s a good film, as long as its reputation builds, it can sell well regardless of the screening time.”

Zhou Yun said, ”Then in the next couple of months, he needs to release a movie and a TV drama. I recall the series he acted with Sister Yin Lin, ’Silent Ark’, is also about to air, right?”

”It should be, but no schedule is set yet. Scheduling for TV dramas is practically a mystery now.” Zhou Lan laughed helplessly.

Zhou Yun: ”Looks like Brother Chi is set for a breakout year; he holds these two projects in high regard and says the scripts are exceptionally good.”

”But it’s hard for him to win awards these years.” Zhou Lan said, ”He’s already achieved a grand slam, heavyweight awards won’t be easily given to him again. He should really aim for the international big three film festivals.”

Zhou Yun thought, sadly, Song Chi runs a production company himself, becoming a producer, unable to settle down to be a pure artist.

He has to consider many commercial aspects to support the development of his company.

She said, ”No worries, as long as the works are solid, leaving a mark in the audience’s hearts, winning awards isn’t that significant.”

Zhou Lan nodded.

”Actually, you and Song Chi face the same situation.” Zhou Lan said, ”Last year, you won several major awards, so winning more will be much harder now. We should aim for international awards.”

Zhou Yun: ”Sure, I’ll give it my all.”

...

The next day, unexpectedly, Stuart Patrice contacted Zhou Yun.

He wanted to set up a meeting with Zhou Yun.

Zhou Yun happened to have time, so Stuart Patrice flew to Los Angeles just to meet Zhou Yun.

The man, a senior executive responsible for series content production at Paimon, suddenly wanting to meet Zhou Yun, Zhou Yun herself found it peculiar, unsure of the reason.

From afar, Stuart Patrice waved at her.

Zhou Yun met him, courteously greeting, ”Hi, Mr. Patrice, how are you.”

Stuart Patrice’s attitude revealed a hint of inexplicable enthusiasm, saying, ”Last night, I watched your ’Life’, ’Behind the Scenes’, and ’Deep Sea’. After finishing them, I lay in bed thinking for a long time. When I woke up this morning, my first thought was that I must meet you.”
