Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1165: Chapter 649: Arrival in the United States

Zhou Lan negotiated with Xu Jinbo that, in the future promotional content, Xin Zhike and Zhou Yun should not be bundled together, creating an ambiguous impression for the public.

Not to mention, Zhou Yun is not single right now, bundling Zhou Yun and Xin Zhike together will cause misunderstandings; even if Zhou Yun were single, Zhou Lan would still not want Xin Zhike to ride on Zhou Yun’s popularity.

At this moment, Zhou Lan suddenly understands the mindset of those teams managing popular celebrities, treating artists from other agencies like enemies, keeping strict guards for fear of letting their own artists be taken advantage of; now Zhou Lan fully experiences this feeling.

The people from Yuehai attempted to communicate and negotiate with Zhou Lan, promising not to spread rumors about Xin Zhike and Zhou Yun, only purely bundling them based on their relationship as the male and female leads in the drama to enhance the drama’s attention.

Zhou Lan firmly refused.

The first day of streaming for ”Deep Sea” reached fifty million views; it’s worth noting that ”Deep Sea” released only one episode on its first day.

This drama was ultimately edited to fifteen episodes, according to the arrangement of Yuehai Network, updating one episode each on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, over five weeks total.

This fifty million views equate to the view count within one day of releasing the first episode, this effective view count is pretty remarkable.

Most importantly, the first episode of ”Deep Sea” released without entering the VIP section, yet it attracted 800,000 new registered members in a single day, creating a great opening for Yuehai Network.

With such a large audience, the drama’s reputation is quite good; according to Yuehai Network’s backend data, the number of effective viewers who finished the first episode surpassed 20 million, making this the best first-day performance Yuehai Network has seen in the past six months.

Judging from the first-day data, with the subsequent episodes of ”Deep Sea” broadcast, it would achieve even higher results.

There’s no doubt, as long as ”Deep Sea” maintains its plot quality, even if Wei Ru Xue’s ”Flying with Phoenix” and ”Immortal Feather Decision” are popular, they will not affect ”Deep Sea”’s viewing figures.

On the first day of its premiere, the official microblog of ”Deep Sea” released promotional posters celebrating the great success of the premiere.

This serves as both promotion, spreading awareness of the drama to potential viewers, and a way to create momentum, establishing ”Deep Sea” as this year’s first-hit drama impression.

Zhou Yun and Yuk Chu’s performances in the drama received unanimous praise.

With the release of the second episode on Saturday, He Wenyun made her appearance, instantly capturing the audience’s attention.

Shortly after the second episode aired, He Wenyun soared in popularity on trending searches, overpowering Yuk Chu.

This was merely due to one shot of He Wenyun.

She stunningly looked back through the crowd, giving Zhou Yun a slightly mocking smile.

This shot was made into a GIF, shared across numerous platforms, amazing everyone on social media including Weibo and Douyin.

This marked He Wenyun’s first true introduction to domestic audiences through her work.

As people recognized her, many learned she was the actress set to star in ”Chinese Warrior,” and that she had already participated in films directed by Spielberg, premiered in the United States, and aimed at the Oscars; she had already attended many promotional events, contributing a series of red-carpet photos, having made quite a name in the fashion world.

He Wenyun’s domestic management contract signed with Yuehai, now with her popularity rising, Yuehai certainly wouldn’t miss this opportunity, pouring numerous promotional resources into He Wenyun.

Zhou Lan saw that Yuehai’s promotional resources were primarily supporting Xin Zhike and He Wenyun, seemingly trying to have them overshadow Zhou Yun and Yuk Chu.

Although Zhou Lan was aware this was unrealistic, she decided not to stay passive, collaborating with Chengqian Entertainment’s promotional resources to start publicizing Zhou Yun and Yuk Chu.

”Deep Sea” caught widespread attention, the popularity of all four actors remained high, along with the broadcast of the drama, also drawing a wave of fans for each of their characters.

Zhou Yun naturally stood out, leading the pack, but the remaining three seemed to have a relatively balanced presence.

Zhou Lan saw opportunity in this situation.

Why do some artists create conflicts where there aren’t any, stirring up topics, because with conflict comes topics, and with topics comes attention.

Zhou Lan believes if this situation is utilized well, Yuk Chu’s popularity would surge rapidly amidst this battle.

Competition itself is also the best time for fans to increase their loyalty.
