Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1175: Chapter 652: Behind the Scenes (2)

Not to mention, now many web dramas are of higher quality than TV dramas. Some viewers have already said that the TV dramas being broadcast now seem to have made no progress compared to ten years ago.

But no matter how many people sneer at Wei Ru Xue, Wei Ru Xue never stood up to deny she had such intentions.

Zhou Yun was surprised when she saw such a big stir online while in the United States.

It had been a long time since she met Wei Ru Xue, and she didn’t expect to have some entanglements with Wei Ru Xue even while abroad.

Wei Ru Xue’s fans emphasized in many places that ”Flying with Phoenix” is broadcast both online and on TV, as a star-rated drama, and its positioning is not the same as ”Deep Sea.” Between the lines, star-rated dramas are considered more prestigious than web dramas.

Zhou Yun’s fans were furious, so they clashed with Wei Ru Xue’s fans.

Zhou Lan was busy communicating with the fan club, asking everyone not to get involved in this meaningless quarrel, while angrily complaining, ”What era are we in? They’re still treating star-rated dramas like treasures.”

The person sitting with her was He Yong.

He Yong, now firmly the top person in charge at Chengqian Entertainment, chuckled and said, ”She made her fortune through TV dramas and has always been filming TV dramas with remarkable achievements, so it’s normal for her to emphasize that she films TV dramas instead of web dramas.”

Zhou Lan sighed, somewhat helplessly, ”It was you who discovered her and put her on the throne as Movie Queen. If not for you, she wouldn’t have starred in ’Spring Cold.’ Would she have won Movie Queen without starring in ’Spring Cold’? Has she ever thanked you after winning the award? Back when she was at Chengqian Entertainment, she was small-minded and arrogant, and she’s no less so now.”

Despite Zhou Lan saying this, He Yong wasn’t angry.

He smiled faintly and said, ”It’s normal for some people to come and some to go in a company. Wei Ru Xue has this personality, but as an actor, having the audience recognize her face is a true skill.”

”That’s easy to say, but she could clearly rely on her true skills to make statements, yet she insists on belittling web dramas. This behavior makes me look down on her.”

He Yong said, ”Why are you angry? Anyway, now both Zhou Yun and Wang Jing have entered the film industry, but Wei Ru Xue always wants to enter this circle but can’t get good resources. If we’re really talking about a chain of contempt, in this industry, films are considered superior to TV dramas.”

”We wouldn’t conduct such contemptuous comparisons.” Zhou Lan laughed lightly, ”If any actor needs to rely on the fact that they are in films to prove they’re better than actors in TV dramas, well, that actor has already reached their limit.”

He Yong chuckled.

”You now have the confidence to say this.”

”President He, don’t you see it this way?” Zhou Lan asked.

He Yong said, ”I’m just a businessman. I look at whoever can earn more money for the company.”

Zhou Lan fell silent upon hearing what He Yong said.

He Yong has always been this way; nothing is more important than earning money.

Back then, the top celebrity Li Ci was already on an unstoppable decline.

Despite this, He Yong didn’t attempt to help him transition, or rather, tried and found no hope, so he gave up on the idea.

But he still used Li Ci to help the company make money as much as possible.

The fast-moving consumer goods endorsements that He Yong didn’t accept for Li Ci in the past were now fully arranged, and not only that, He Yong also started arranging for Li Ci to live stream and sell goods.

Li Ci quarreled with He Yong many times, but He Yong changed his previous attitude of coaxing and started dealing business-like, half-threatening and half-coercing Li Ci to accept these jobs.

All these happenings spread throughout the company.

Nowadays, Li Ci’s revenue is second only to Zhou Yun, with the ability to make money seemingly returning to the level of two years ago, but everyone knows it’s just the last gleam before dusk.

Zhou Lan watched from the side, feeling that He Yong was ruthless.

Li Ci was discovered by He Yong and personally raised to the top celebrity position.

Yet when He Yong decided to give up on him, he did it without any mercy.

Zhou Lan couldn’t help but wonder, if Zhou Yun one day inevitably faced decline, what would He Yong’s attitude be?

However, that day won’t come.

The Movie Queen awards Zhou Yun has won are enough for her to comfortably retire.

Zhou Lan then thought of Wang Jing and Yuk Chu, thought of Huang Zicheng and Lu Zhongting.

The artists she manages are now at their emergence stage, and she knows that unless they have special opportunities, they basically can’t reach the height Zhou Yun has achieved.
