Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1160: Chapter 647: End and Beginning (Part 2)

...

As soon as the police investigation results were released, the ”Chen Yin” film crew immediately terminated their collaboration with Liu Xi and issued a strongly worded statement.

Zhou Yun only came forward at this point, sharing the film crew’s statement and expressing severe criticism of Liu Xi.

Many people mocked her in the comments, saying she was making comments after the fact.

Zhou Yun did not make any explanations.

Amidst the tumultuous public opinion around this matter, ”Chen Yin” was finally completed.

Jin Lin was almost the first to leave the crew.

In many productions, the main actors usually stay until the end because they have the most scenes, while the others wrap up their parts earlier.

However, Kang Xin generally prefers to shoot in sequence, and the final scene of ”Chen Yin” happened to be a group scene featuring nearly all the actors, so every actor stayed until the end.

On the day of completion, Zhou Yun expressed her feelings to Kang Xin with a hug and farewell, saying, ”Director, you’ve worked hard. I never expected to face so many troubles while filming this drama.”

Kang Xin laughed and said, ”I’m used to it, actually. It’s quite normal. Nearly every film encounters various issues during shooting, as long as they’re resolved in the end. All things considered, ’Chen Yin’ went relatively smoothly, with no breakdowns in the financial chain or other fatal problems. If we really had such problems, it would be truly disastrous.”

Zhou Yun said, ”You won’t encounter such problems anymore, will you?”

Kang Xin replied, ”Who knows? But I’ve completed another film, achieving a milestone success.”

”Haha.” Zhou Yun nodded and said, ”I think so, too.”

”I remember you’re about to start filming another movie soon?” Kang Xin asked.

Zhou Yun nodded and said, ”Yeah, Wen Bing’s ’Female Assassin’, an action film.”

”Oh, action film? You’re broadening your range of roles!” Kang Xin said.

Zhou Yun replied, ”Not really, I just made a cameo in Wen Bing’s second film ’Two Tigers’, where I played a female assassin. During the filming, we both felt the experience was too brief, and easily decided to make a full action film.”

Upon hearing this, Kang Xin said, ”Wen Bing is quite lucky to have encountered you. If I had a box office hit like you as my lead when I first started, I could have saved myself a lot of trouble.”

”But I was lucky to meet you when I first started acting,” Zhou Yun replied, ”It was with ’Heart Inquiry’ that I first formed my concept of being an actor.”

She said, ”Director, anytime you need me for any project in the future, just give me a call. As long as I can make it, I’ll definitely come and act.”

Kang Xin was not hearing such words from Zhou Yun for the first time.

He said, ”Okay.”

”Director, there’s actually one thing I’m really curious about,” Zhou Yun said, ”What did you say to Jin Lin to make her willing to return to the film set?”

Kang Xin said, ”I simply told her that no matter what she’s facing, it shouldn’t disrupt her work and life. If she kept taking leave, I couldn’t wait indefinitely. To maintain the integrity of the film, I’d have to cut out many of her parts. I asked her if she wanted her hard work to be wasted because of something that wasn’t her fault? After hearing this, she came to the film set.”

Zhou Yun suddenly understood.

”Ah, that’s how it was.”

With ”Chen Yin” wrapped up, Zhou Yun packed her belongings and returned to Shanghai with Huang Zicheng, accompanied by Zhou Lan.

This was Huang Zicheng’s first time experiencing such public scrutiny, and Zhou Lan was worried he wouldn’t be able to handle it, so he stayed by Huang Zicheng’s side these last few days.

Actually, Zhou Lan had considered using the situation to boost Huang Zicheng’s popularity.

As a newcomer, Huang Zicheng lacked exposure and recognition, so leveraging the heat from this situation could help increase his fame and popularity.

But Zhou Lan quickly abandoned the idea.

Zhou Yun’s success had given her profound insight — when Huang Zicheng didn’t lack resources, there was no need to take such a problematic route.

Relying on marketing such heat to gain visibility would leave the public’s impression of Huang Zicheng as being tied to a scandal.

The importance of such first impressions is significant but not so significant; it’s both crucial and not crucial.
