Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1180: Chapter 654: One-Man Show

Everyone has their own choices.

Zhou Yun doesn’t want to influence others’ choices.

Moreover, not being in their position, no one knows what the person making the choice has to bear and give up.

However, Zhou Yun knows what her choice would be.

She wouldn’t collaborate with someone like Gediyah.

Absolutely not.

Zhou Yun also doesn’t want to see Gediyah appear in the film ”Chinese Warrior”, even though the film has nothing to do with her.

Zhou Yun wondered if she was interfering too much.

However, it seemed she didn’t have the right to interfere.

”Hey, Miss Zhou.” Mr. Smith from Vincent Media walked up and greeted Zhou Yun.

Zhou Yun had met him once before; he’s the head of a top media group and had helped a lot with the promotion of ”Behind the Scenes”.

Zhou Yun quickly adjusted her mood and smiled, ”Hello, Mr. Smith.”

”You’re as beautiful as ever,” Mr. Smith said with a smile, looking at Zhou Yun. ”Every time I see you, you fulfill my imagination of a fairy from Chinese legends.”

The ”fairy” that Smith pronounced was still in Chinese.

Zhou Yun felt flattered.

”Thank you, Mr. Smith, I feel embarrassed every time you compliment me like this,” Zhou Yun smiled.

”You completely deserve such praise. Yesterday, the editor-in-chief of ’Vincent TV Report’ told me that your performance in ’Deep Sea’ is excellent, of very high quality, and they plan to do a special feature on it,” Smith said. ”He said that in this work, you’ve delivered a performance completely different from your past, with a very special mysterious quality.”

’Vincent TV Report’ is a newspaper under Vincent Media Group specifically focusing on film and television, with significant circulation and influence in the United States.

Zhou Yun was very surprised and said, ”Thank you, when I was filming ’Deep Sea’, I also felt that this show has a very different quality from my previous works. It tells the story of two women encountering some unexplainable events in their ordinary lives, beginning their pursuit of the truth.”

Smith said, ”Life’s unexpected turns?”

Zhou Yun nodded and said, ”When I read the script, one thing that attracted me was how this originally uneventful life gets suddenly disturbed, like a train going off its tracks. The impact of this sudden accident on life, and on our inner selves, really attracted me.”

Smith nodded and said, ”In these past two years, several dramas with the theme of life suspense have been released. It’s become a genre and is quite popular. If ’Deep Sea’ performs well, it could help increase your global fame.”

Zhou Yun said, ”But isn’t it difficult for non-English dramas like ’Deep Sea’ to be widely liked? It’s currently streaming on Paimon and has only 2 million views, but it’s already the best viewership performance for a Chinese drama in recent years.”

Smith said, ”But this drama is different from other Chinese dramas. You and He Wenyun are now active top actresses, and even in the United States, many people are paying attention to you. This happens to be your promotion period, and I think the show’s results will only get better, as long as the reviews remain as good as they are now.”

Smith’s words surprised Zhou Yun.

As the head of Vincent Media Group, Smith definitely has high standards.

If he says so, perhaps ”Deep Sea” could indeed achieve good results in the United States?

However, for a drama to be very successful, it’s not just about having a ”good product that doesn’t need to fear a remote alley”; we’re long past that era.

This drama has potential, but how much is Paimon willing to invest in its promotion?

That’s unknown.

Investment seeks return.

And that return, until it truly reaches one’s pocket, is all speculative.

Even Zhou Yun, the lead actress, believed that a Chinese drama would find it hard to be popular in the English-speaking world, let alone a native American company like Paimon.

However, as Smith said, ”Deep Sea” did indeed receive some attention in the following days.

The key reason being several celebrities recommended the drama on their Twitter accounts.
