Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1182: Chapter 654: One-Woman Show_3

However, after some interaction, no relatively good film projects were encountered.

Compared to Zhou Yun, who has already made a name for herself, Wang Jing still has to follow the Behind the Scenes crew’s activities. Once she leaves the crew, no one knows her.

The film companies are willing to offer Wang Jing only shallow, stereotypical roles.

In Zhou Lan’s heart, there is an expectation that these roles, unless they are part of a big production that can showcase Wang Jing worldwide or are movies by well-known directors that can build her resume, they should not be taken, as they would tarnish her reputation domestically.

Wang Jing is already a rising star in movies domestically; it’s ridiculous that she has to play minor roles abroad. It’s not the last century anymore; doing this now would only draw ridicule and mockery.

But failing to get good film projects for a while didn’t dampen Zhou Lan’s enthusiasm.

She knew that such matters required patience.

Fortunately, Zhou Yun’s luck is quite good. So far, she has been progressing smoothly in the United States. From the film Life, which made her known among art film enthusiasts, to the hotel attack incident that greatly increased her fame, and to Behind the Scenes’s Oscar run, with reputation growing all the way to her Golden Ball nomination, she has traveled a path never before taken by a Chinese actress.

This Golden Ball nomination is a very good start for Zhou Yun.

Without this nomination, several internationally renowned agencies wouldn’t proactively reach out to Zhou Lan to negotiate for overseas representation rights.

And Zhou Yun’s exposure during this time has received more feedback from Deep Sea compared to Behind the Scenes.

The discussions about Deep Sea on Twitter are numerous.

Everyone is sharing their experiences of watching Deep Sea on Twitter.

So far, the view count for Deep Sea is not very high, barely surpassing three million, which isn’t remarkable in the realm of streaming platforms.

However, the number of people discussing this show is large, and its reputation is gradually fermenting.

Several famous film and television critics have praised this show, especially the performances by Zhou Yun, Yuk Chu, and He Wenyun.

Stuart Patrice, an executive in charge of television production at Paimon, has been following the show’s dynamics.

The reason for this attention is that Paimon has an upcoming series to collaborate with He Wenyun.

Stuart Patrice is an executive highly optimistic about He Wenyun’s future career, which is why he appointed He Wenyun.

Although Zhou Yun is more famous, Stuart Patrice is not familiar with her, but he knows He Wenyun better.

Seeing the rave reviews He Wenyun received from several famous film and television critics, Stuart Patrice felt quite proud.

It’s like discovering a gem and others recognizing its value.

However, he was a bit surprised at how high the evaluation of the actress named Zhou Yun was from these few people.

This made him curious, having neither watched Deep Sea, nor Behind the Scenes, nor Life. What magical charm does this actress named Zhou Yun possess to win favor from so many people through these non-English films?

Driven by curiosity, Stuart Patrice bought a ticket for Behind the Scenes and went to the cinema at night to watch the movie.

After watching the film, to be honest, he thought Zhou Yun acted very well. But in Hollywood, there are many actresses who can act well, and he couldn’t see why Zhou Yun broke through the competition with this film to receive a Golden Ball nomination. This film had a huge momentum in the best foreign film category but Best Actress... That’s ridiculous. Without perfect timing, luck, and momentum, who would nominate a lead actress from an Asian film?

No wonder when the Golden Ball nominations were announced, everyone said Zhou Yun’s nomination was a surprise.

Moreover, it was the least attention-grabbing nomination.

Everyone’s attention was focused on other nominees.

However, Stuart Patrice recently also noticed that more and more people in the industry are starting to talk about Zhou Yun.

Especially since she’s made appearances in the U.S., he’s often seen celebrities praising Zhou Yun in entertainment reports.

Stuart Patrice returned home, and inexplicably found the streaming site for Life, spending two hours watching the film entirely focused on Zhou Yun’s solo performance.
