Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1153: Chapter 645: Shrouded in Heavy Fog

Cheng Shenlv’s response temporarily put Zhou Yun’s mind at ease.

At least, Cheng Shenlv’s statement proved that Huang Zicheng was not lying.

This matter is still shrouded in mystery.

”Shenlv, do you know why Jin Lin came to set this morning and got so angry at Huang Zicheng?” Zhou Yun asked.

Cheng Shenlv hesitated and shook her head.

”I don’t know.”

Zhou Yun: ”Shenlv, I’m not trying to cover for Huang Zicheng. Just like you, I’m a woman. If these private photos of Jin Lin were exposed by Huang Zicheng, believe me, I would never cover for him. But the issue now is that Huang Zicheng claims he knows nothing about these photos. Before today, he had never seen them. Yet, Jin Lin’s behavior this morning gives the impression that Huang Zicheng did it. There may be a misunderstanding, but without factual evidence, as Huang Zicheng’s mentor, I need to get to the bottom of this.”

Cheng Shenlv fell into silence.

She seemed to be struggling internally.

Zhou Yun knew Cheng Shenlv certainly knew something; it was a matter of whether she was willing to speak up.

She didn’t urge Cheng Shenlv, but instead looked at her patiently.

Cheng Shenlv took a deep breath and said, ”Sister Xiao Yun, I can’t say much about other things, but about Jin Lin’s photos, she took them specifically while chatting with Huang Zicheng and only sent them to him. No one else received them. If it’s not Huang Zicheng, then it could only be Jin Lin herself who posted them online. But I think you won’t believe Jin Lin did it herself, right? She had no reason to do so.”

Zhou Yun widened her eyes in shock.

Cheng Shenlv said, ”Sister Xiao Yun, I believe Jin Lin wouldn’t lie about this. She truly likes Huang Zicheng and wouldn’t wrong him on this matter.”

Inside Zhou Yun’s heart, a storm was raging.

After having dinner with Cheng Shenlv, Zhou Yun drove her back to the hotel.

Instead of returning to her room, she walked alone outside the hotel.

The night had fallen, with not a starlight in sight.

The snow had stopped, but the cold wind was still biting.

Zhou Yun needed such an environment to think clearly for a while.

What Cheng Shenlv said was unexpected—since Jin Lin dared to say such things to Cheng Shenlv, and Cheng Shenlv’s attitude clearly trusted Jin Lin greatly, Zhou Yun didn’t think Jin Lin fabricated it.

If this were true, it would mean Huang Zicheng lied to her.

Is Huang Zicheng that good of an actor?

Zhou Yun recalled the scene where Huang Zicheng swore to her during the day.

Not just about this incident, but usually too.

Zhou Yun always felt that compared to Lu Zhongting, Huang Zicheng was relatively more silent and resolute.

Probably because of his retirement due to injury, Huang Zicheng cherished his current opportunity. Even Zhou Lan said that it would be hard to find someone more hardworking than Huang Zicheng.

Zhou Lan had mentioned that Huang Zicheng was very disciplined; during his scarce leisure time, he would either travel with his parents or stay in the dorm alone, occasionally meeting up with old friends, without any bad habits.

Zhou Yun believed that time would reveal a person’s true character.

She still couldn’t accept that Huang Zicheng would be someone who would post a young girl’s private photos on an online forum.

She halted her steps.

No matter what, she needed to get to the bottom of this.

Since Huang Zicheng said he hadn’t seen those photos and Jin Lin said she only sent them to him, there must be an issue.

This matter could be clarified through confrontation!

Zhou Yun turned back towards the hotel.

Her pace quickened as if walking faster could ward off the cold.

But she didn’t expect to see a group of media reporters blocked at the hotel entrance when she arrived.

They wanted to enter but were stopped by the hotel security.

These were reporters who had rushed over for news, eager to capture Jin Lin.

Zhou Yun paused her steps.

If she rushed over now, she would definitely get surrounded by them.

After a brief hesitation, Zhou Yun decided to call Zhou Lan and inform her of the situation.

Zhou Lan responded with a simple ”hmm,” as if she already knew, without any surprise, and added, ”The current situation is very disadvantageous for us. Half an hour ago, an anonymous staff member disclosed to the media about Jin Lin and Huang Zicheng, telling them both had always been somewhat ambiguous in the crew and that everyone knew Jin Lin liked Huang Zicheng. Although this person didn’t explicitly say that Huang Zicheng was the one who exposed Jin Lin’s photos, linking several things together, I estimate such a public opinion trend will emerge soon.”
