Chapter 246: Chapter 199: Sensation! A Themed Lecture by Top Pharmaceutical Companies and the HHMI Research Institute (3)

Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, and GSK, the big three, each began their own meticulous preparations.

There was exactly one week until Wu Ting’s project defense, which gave all parties ample time to prepare. The three top-tier pharmaceutical companies had a tacit understanding: they would not contact Wu Ting’s team beforehand. They would let their sincerity and strength do the talking at the lecture.

In a dormitory at the Jinggang University Medical School Graduate Department.

Jiang Xiaohong, a graduate student, was scrolling through Bilibili when a message popped up in her group chat:

Following the notice was an article specifically promoting the event. It detailed the background and strength of the major pharmaceutical groups involved.

The article paid special attention to Professor Lin Ning and the HHMI Research Institute. It even included a little teaser: at the end of the lecture, Professor Lin Ning would engage in a dialogue with a promising young doctor from Jin Country’s immunology field.

Of course, there was also an attachment at the end of the article: recruitment information and registration forms for targeted positions offered by the four pharmaceutical groups.

In addition to direct hires for graduates who passed the interviews, current students could also apply. After completing an internship, they could be offered a full-time position based on their performance!

Jiang Xiaohong was a year away from graduation, so she was naturally very interested in this kind of opportunity.

These were top-tier giants like Pfizer, GSK, and Johnson & Johnson! The annual salaries for the positions were tiered by academic degree, with master’s students starting at no less than 350,000 a year!

Jiang Xiaohong also greatly admired Professor Lin Ning and was really looking forward to the lecture on Friday afternoon.

”I can’t believe our Medical College pulled this off. They actually got so many pharmaceutical giants together for a single lecture.”

”Of course, the most impressive one has to be the up-and-coming young doctor who gets to speak directly with Professor Lin Ning.”

...

...

It wasn’t just the current students and faculty who were buzzing with anticipation for the lecture.

The doctors at Jinggang University Affiliated First Hospital who had already graduated were also extremely interested.

Even Yan Xi, who was on an exchange program in Fan City, was hyped up about the lecture by a junior colleague.

Unfortunately, the lecture was only for current students, faculty, and staff. Ling Ling, Jin Yan, and the others were quite interested, but they didn’t have the opportunity to hear Professor Lin Ning’s presentation.

”I was supposed to go to the hepatobiliary surgery department tomorrow to assist Wu Ting with an operation. You guys can head back first. I’ll stay here in Haijin Port and come back after the lecture is over.”

Yan Xi couldn’t help but feel a little smug. ’This is Professor Lin Ning we’re talking about! And HHMI is a holy grail for all researchers.’

Speaking of which, Wu Ting was also a graduate student at Jinggang University Medical College. ’I wonder if he’ll attend this lecture,’ she thought.

Wu Ting had been busy with his graduate thesis project recently, so Yan Xi hadn’t bothered him.

”Hey, Dr. Yan! It says here you can’t attend in person, but you can watch a live stream of the entire lecture! There’s a special note at the end of the article!”

Dr. Ling Ling had discovered the postscript at the end of the article.

”That’s great too! We’ll have to properly admire the elite young doctor who gets to interact live with a god-tier expert like Professor Lin Ning.”

”Speaking of which, this year’s class of students is so lucky. How come we never had such a great opportunity when we were in school? Three top pharmaceutical companies, serving up nearly a hundred high-paying jobs on a silver platter, plus a ton of internship spots.”

Yan Xi was also a bit surprised. ’Jinggang University Medical College is really getting more and more impressive.’

...

...

While the entire faculty and student body of Jinggang University Medical College were fired up about the Friday lecture, Wu Ting acted as if nothing was happening.

He was in a ward in the Hepatic Tumor Surgery department with Liu Xingye, conducting a final pre-operative check on Liu Xia.

After Li Ai’s surgery, this was to be the first publicly announced operation of its kind—the first true case of the Perfect Triple Method: immune negative-regulatory therapy combined with traditional hepatic tumor resection!
