Chapter 225: Chapter 193: Paper Accepted: ”Cell” Special Issue

Zhao Lan was a graduate student at Jinggang University Medical College, currently doing her internship in the Hepatobiliary Surgery Department.

Looking at the recruitment announcement, she realized she’d heard of this Wu Ting before. He had previously participated in some surgical discussions in the department, and Director Shen Xiaofei greatly admired and praised him.

Zhao Lan read on. While she didn’t fully understand the research content of the group, the compensation and benefits were truly tempting.

First, there was the salary, stated in black and white. With her master’s degree, the starting pay was 5,000 RMB a month. On top of that, there were all sorts of opportunities for internships and recommendations.

Just the internship qualifications for Jin Pharmaceutical Group and a provincial key laboratory were tempting enough on their own.

Zhao Lan took another look at the recruitment requirements and found that she met them perfectly.

At the very end of the announcement, there was an introduction to the research group’s members.

The group’s supervising professor was listed inside: Professor Shen Siyuan!

Expert Consultants: Vice Dean, Dean Song; Director of Hepatic Tumor Surgery, Director Fu; Director of Hepatobiliary Surgery, Shen Xiaofei...

Group Leader: Wu Ting...

Main Group Members: Dr. Yan Xi, Dr. Ling Ling, Dr. Jin Yan, Cheng Feng...

Partner Institutions: Relevant departments of Jinggang University Affiliated First Hospital, Fan City First Hospital Hepatobiliary Surgery Department, Jin Pharmaceutical Group...

Staring at this lineup, Zhao Lan could hardly believe her eyes.

’This is supposed to be just a graduate student’s research group?’

’This lineup, this team... are they sure this isn’t for a project funded by the National Natural Science Foundation?’

Zhao Lan didn’t hesitate. She immediately downloaded the attachment, filled out her resume, and sent it in.

The same thing was happening in other relevant departments at Jinggang University Affiliated First Hospital. Besides interns, some resident physicians were also applying for the project.

A graduate student project that so clearly exceeded all normal standards was bound to attract the attention of certain observant people.

Ke Chaomin was a senior reporter for the *Xiao City Science and Technology Daily*. He learned about this rare internal recruitment announcement from Jinggang University Affiliated First Hospital through group chats for medical professionals.

Reporter Ke had a keen nose for news and a knack for getting things done. As a senior reporter for the *Xiao City Science and Technology Daily*, he had built a powerful and extensive network of contacts in cultural, scientific, and medical circles, as well as with relevant government agencies.

Reporter Ke quickly looked into the project’s filing status with the Jinggang University Medical School Graduate Department.

To his great surprise, the filed project had requested only one yuan in funding. In other words, the project was entirely self-funded by the research group.

Reporter Ke had also seen the recruitment announcement for research assistants on Wu Ting’s team, and it was safe to say the compensation offered was astonishing.

Generally speaking, a graduate student’s project funding would normally be a few tens of thousands of RMB at most. The pay for a research assistant was usually just a token amount for their hard work. Who would be this lavish?

Moreover, the main members of this project were all high-caliber individuals, and it even had the support of a top-tier team.

’This is the Jin Pharmaceutical Group, after all.’

Ke Chaomin’s sharp instincts told him there was something fishy about this research group.

’Something’s not right. Not right at all.’

Ke Chaomin decided to spend some time investigating and documenting this research group, especially its leader, Wu Ting.

’Could it be that this Wu Ting is the son of some rich family, funding the project himself and hiring all these PhDs as main members to do his research for him?’

’But even if he’s just some rich kid, there’s no way he could get people like Dean Song, Director Fu, Director Shen, and Professor Shen to act as his expert consultants, right?’
