Chapter 236: Chapter 196: Sensational Thesis Results! Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson Seek Collaboration (Part 2)

This was also the time for Professor Deng’s steadfast, annual three-month collaborative research period at the John Innes Research Institute.

Professor Deng was a legendary figure in the field of life sciences. He had been named a Young and Middle-Aged Expert with Outstanding National Contributions and was a recipient of the State Council’s Special Government Allowance.

He had received a nomination for the inaugural Jin Country Young Scientist Award...

The first prize of the Ministry of Agriculture’s Science and Technology Progress Award...

The Jin Country Youth Science and Technology Award and the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars...

Selection for the first tier of the Ministry of Personnel’s ”Hundred, Thousand, Ten Thousand Talents Project”...

The Southern Country Luo Foundation’s ”Biotechnology Career Award” for three consecutive years...

The King of Sweden’s Award...

A visiting professorship at the Department of Microbiology of Southern Country Cornell University...

He was also a potential candidate to become an academician of the Jin Country Academy of Sciences...

In the life sciences field in Jin Country, he was a top-tier figure.

For some time now, Deng Fujiu’s BIO-X Life Research Center had been vigorously researching the link between liver cancer and life sciences.

However, Deng Fujiu never expected this Wu Ting to approach the problem from the angle of the Single Immunoglobulin-Interleukin-1 Receptor Protein within immunology, and to even propose a breathtaking negative immune regulatory mechanism!

Deng Fujiu immediately downloaded Wu Ting’s paper and studied it carefully.

This special issue, in addition to Wu Ting’s paper, also included the review and verification results from a special committee assembled by the journal *Cell*.

The data and content from the laboratory replication were particularly noteworthy. They indicated that Wu Ting’s research had a significant therapeutic effect on early to mid-stage hepatitis B-related primary liver cancer and would drastically change how the academic world approached the challenge of curing it!

After finishing the paper, Deng Fujiu immediately called his secretary back in Jin Country and had him thoroughly investigate Wu Ting’s background.

Soon, a one-page resume was faxed to his desk.

Deng Fujiu read it carefully:

’He’s just a graduate student at Jinggang University Medical College? In his academic career, he’s only published a few papers on laparoscopic diagnostic and treatment techniques and secured one grant from the National Youth Fund...’

After reading, Deng Fujiu found it hard to believe. He couldn’t accept that such an achievement could come from such an inexperienced young student—a young man who couldn’t even be called a scientist yet.

’His advisor is Professor Shen Siyuan from the Department of Cardiac Surgery at Jinggang University Affiliated First Hospital...’

A young, beautiful face flashed through Deng Fujiu’s mind, and he was pleasantly surprised. ’Isn’t that Professor Ye Xin’s student? To think that girl actually mentored such a genius.’

Deng Fujiu’s status was on par with Professor Ye Xin’s, but he was younger and possessed even greater potential.

He never expected to be so stunned by Ye Xin’s academic grandchild.

Deng Fujiu immediately terminated his ongoing three-month research project. He prepared to return to Jin Country at once; he had to go to Xiao City to meet this young man.

’This Wu Ting is an absolute diamond in the rough. If I can recruit him to my BIO-X Life Research Center, we can definitely make much deeper and further progress in the field of hepatitis B-related primary liver cancer.’

Deng Fujiu even began to imagine that if he could take this genius with immense potential under his wing and continue down the path of researching primary liver cancer, he might just be able to complete his own ascension—achieving the ultimate honor of becoming an academician of the Jin Country Academy of Sciences!

As Deng Fujiu was heading back to Jin Country to contact Wu Ting, top research institutes and pharmaceutical companies across the globe had also caught wind of the news.

Southern Country Pfizer Company, Innovative Health (IH) Department.

Pfizer Pharmaceutical Company is one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world, dedicated to the discovery, development, and manufacturing of healthcare products, focusing primarily on medicines, vaccines, and consumer healthcare.

Pfizer Pharmaceutical has two major divisions: Innovative Health (IH) and Pfizer Essential Health (EH).

The Innovative Health department focuses on developing and commercializing medicines and vaccines for internal medicine, oncology, inflammation and immunology, and consumer healthcare.

As the department head, Edward was also one of the first to learn about this bombshell in the field of immunology.

Edward contacted Xie Bin, the president of the Pfizer Jin Country Region.

Pfizer’s Jin Country headquarters was located in the Zhang Jiang High-Tech Park in Xianglin City. After receiving Edward’s call, Xie Bin immediately set off for Xiao City.

The negative immune regulatory mechanism behind Wu Ting’s paper, along with the research on hepatitis B-related primary liver cancer, was brimming with potential.

If they could collaborate with Wu Ting’s team, or even establish a dedicated research center, any breakthrough in curing liver cancer would open up a market of astronomical proportions.

With Pfizer’s global influence, achieving such a breakthrough would be epoch-making.

Xie Bin took this matter very seriously.

After a detailed investigation, Xie Bin learned that Wu Ting’s project was still in progress.

Moreover, according to the abstract of Wu Ting’s paper, this discovery was merely one core mechanism from the second phase of his larger project.

The thought that they might actually complete all four planned stages of research and development felt almost surreal to Xie Bin.

’If Wu Ting’s team actually brings this research to fruition, it’ll be an absolutely immense fortune.’

’It’s unbelievable. To think such a young team could produce such a monumental research finding.’

Xie Bin decided to immediately head to Jinggang University Medical College to meet Wu Ting in person. He planned to use an astronomical offer to invite Wu Ting to become a partner and medical consultant for Pfizer in Jin Country.

Xie Bin was confident he could win Wu Ting over.
