Doctor: I Can Synthesize Infinite Entries

Chapter 219: Chapter 191: Business Negotiation with Jin Pharmaceutical Group

While his doctoral team began working on the research proposal and thesis optimization, Wu Ting also started on his regular duties at the research center.

According to Director Huo’s plan, the emergency department was about to apply to become a key provincial specialty for laparoscopic diagnosis and treatment. To that end, Wu Ting had to quickly get two surgical techniques up and running: EST and its modified version, ESPBD.

Besides Wu Ting, Deputy Director Qin Donglai, Director Cai Qi from hepatobiliary surgery, and attending physician Lu Xuejun were all slated to be trained as chief surgeons for these two techniques. Yasui and Luo Ming, meanwhile, would learn to assist them.

Using the ERCP training simulator left behind by Dr. Wang Nanjin, Director Qin and Lu Xuejun had both mastered the fundamentals of ERCP over this period. This gave them the foundational knowledge needed to learn EST.

Director Cai Qi’s fundamentals were even stronger. She was the only other experienced physician, besides Wu Ting, who could already perform both surgical techniques.

Of course, there were others at the research center who could perform these two surgical techniques, namely Zhang Heng and Guo Guoguo. However, Deputy Director Zhang Heng was busy with his own research project, so the responsibility for these two techniques ultimately fell on Wu Ting’s shoulders.

In short, once Qin Donglai and Lu Xuejun mastered the techniques and could operate independently as chief surgeons, the research center would essentially be able to offer both surgical techniques on a regular basis.

So, for the next few days, Wu Ting spent practically all his time in the operating room, taking turns training Qin Donglai and Lu Xuejun on the relevant procedures.

Likewise, Luo Ming and Yasui took turns learning the assistive roles for these two surgical techniques. Under Wu Ting’s guidance, the entire team’s progress was remarkable.

The following week, when the weekend arrived, Dr. Yan Xi finished writing the research proposal for Wu Ting’s master’s thesis and submitted it to him.

On Saturday, after working overtime for several days straight, Jin Yan finished polishing the formatting and other minor details of Wu Ting’s paper, ”A Study on the Immune Negative Regulatory Mechanism of Single Immunoglobulin Interleukin-1 Receptor-Related Protein in the Curative Treatment of Primary Hepatocellular Carcinoma with Chronic Hepatitis B,” and submitted it to him.

Looking at these two documents, Wu Ting was filled with emotion. ’As expected of PhDs from top-tier hospitals! The quality of their work is impeccable!’

After reviewing each document and finding no issues, Wu Ting sent them both out.

He submitted the research proposal and literature review to Director Shen Siyuan.

The other paper, he submitted to the world-class journal, *Cell*!

Now, all he had to do was wait for the results.

Cardiac Surgery Department, Jinggang University Affiliated First Hospital.

After receiving the research proposal and literature review from Wu Ting, Shen Siyuan began to examine them carefully.

’”A Systematic Curative Therapy for Primary Carcinoma with Hepatitis B: A Study of Phases One, Two, Three, and Four.” This guy... I asked him to do a research proposal, and he really made it look the part. But this title is certainly ambitious.’

Shen Siyuan was reading this literature review, of course, with the goal of contacting Professor Jin and Deng Feifei later to secure Wu Ting’s first round of funding.

Shen Siyuan read on, bit by bit.

She had already discussed the content of the first phase with Wu Ting in detail. Moreover, the P3 predictive diagnosis and treatment method for chronic hepatitis B had already been tested in real-world applications in the Hepatic Tumor Surgery and hepatobiliary surgery departments, so there were basically no issues with it.

It was also one of the results she planned to use to persuade the Jin Pharmaceutical Group.

Shen Siyuan focused her attention on the second phase: the immune negative-regulatory therapy for cirrhosis caused by hepatitis B. The core immune negative-regulatory mechanism described here was the very essence of the research project.

Shen Siyuan was a little surprised. Wu Ting had deepened and expanded on the concept since the day of Li Ai’s surgery. Reading it now, Shen Siyuan felt a sense of admiration.

’It seems that kid was intentionally holding back that day to save my feelings. His understanding of immunoregulatory theory is in no way inferior to mine. He doesn’t need any pointers from me at all.’

The more humble Wu Ting was, the more Shen Siyuan admired him.

’Next up are the third and fourth phases. These are just conceptual theories meant to pad out the project, raise its profile, and secure more funding. I wonder what Wu Ting wrote.’

Shen Siyuan never imagined that Wu Ting could actually propose viable treatment plans for these two phases.

In fact, she had been the one to suggest Wu Ting add the summaries for these two phases to make the project appear more complete.

But when she saw the content of Wu Ting’s third phase, Shen Siyuan’s relaxed expression turned serious.

”Late-Stage Hepatitis B-Related Liver Cancer Treatment: Transcatheter Arterial Chemoembolization Combined with Anti-Hepatitis B Virus Therapy: Fengmu Tiada!”

”Fengmu Tiada, a specific-action drug for hepatitis B awaiting development...”

”In National Medicine, it is said: The liver is the organ of wind and wood. Its qi rises and spreads, thriving on free flow and detesting stagnation. Therefore, this antiviral drug is tentatively named: Fengmu Tiada...”

In the summary for this phase, although Wu Ting didn’t explicitly propose a method for preparing the new drug, he had professionally constructed a concept for an extract from traditional Chinese medicinal texts.

He even used artemisinin—a gift from National Medicine to the world—as an analogy.

Artemisinin was a dazzling jewel in Jin Country’s pharmaceutical field. The female scientist Tu Youyou had even won the Lasker Award—known as the ”bellwether” for the Nobel Prize—for her contribution in creating new antimalarial drugs, artemisinin and dihydroartemisinin.

This was the highest-level world-class award that Jin Country’s biomedical community had ever received!
