Doctor: I Can Synthesize Infinite Entries

Chapter 218: Chapter 190: Submitting to the World’s Top Journal, ”Cell

”Given your relationships with Dean Song, Shen Xiaofei, Shen Guofeng, and Fu Jinfen, we’re really just going through the motions for you.”

”After that, once the project is officially approved, I’ll take you to meet Professor Jin. Your preliminary results from the first and second stages will be more than enough to win his approval.”

”And then, here comes the crucial part!”

”I’ll have you sign an agreement with Deng Feifei’s side. Then, I’ll get her to provide the first round of funding, which will be our project’s seed money. I’ll handle the negotiations and ask for the moon! I’ll get you at least two million, minimum.”

”And all you need to promise is that later on, in the field of scientific research, once this major project yields results, you will give priority consideration to collaborating with the Jin Pharmaceutical Group.”

”It’s just an agreement for priority consideration, that’s all.”

”In reality, the true results of our project are just your first and second stages. As for the third and fourth stages, they’re just castles in the air. But it’s more than enough to bluff Deng Feifei.”

”Once we have the startup capital, we can negotiate with the hospital. With the trust and support of Director Fu, Dean Song, and Director Shen Xiaofei, we can launch the first stage of your research.”

”We’ll use the startup funds to hire, for a fee, the teachers and students from our Medical College, as well as doctors from the relevant departments at Jinggang University Affiliated First Hospital. We’ll have them provide you with the necessary case files and statistical data.”

”That way, you can complete the first stage of your research—the P3 Chronic Hepatitis B Predictive Diagnosis and Treatment Method—without putting in any of your own resources. After that, we’ll immediately contact top domestic core journals, get the paper published, and then start submitting it for inclusion in clinical practice guidelines!”

”And at the same time, we’ll secure publication for the second-stage paper. We’re talking about the world’s top journal, *Cell*!”

”By that point, we’ll have even more room to maneuver. Your four-stage project will have a solid foundation and enough leverage. Plus, your project belongs to our Jinggang University Medical College, so it has strong institutional backing. With my network and a push from Professor Jin, we can apply for a National Natural Science Foundation project. If we’re lucky, it could be one of those designated major projects.”

”This isn’t comparable to one of those youth funds that give you less than 200,000 a year. The funding for this is staggering—we’re talking tens of millions!”

”After that, with the foundation’s endorsement and our early results, we can sit down for real negotiations with the Jin Pharmaceutical Group.”

”I know you’re very attached to City First Hospital, so you can take the project back there and establish a joint collaboration in the name of both City First Hospital and Jinggang University Medical College.”

”The level of choice and freedom here is completely different from last time, when you were constrained by Professor Ma Mengchao and the others, with the tripartite platform working with City First Hospital’s research center.”

”This time, you won’t be the one needing the tripartite platform. Instead, you’ll be the one choosing your partners.”

”Wu Ting, you will be the one truly calling the shots!”

”Given the massive potential of your project, I suggest you establish a dedicated key laboratory for Hepatitis B-related primary liver cancer directly at City First Hospital.”

”I’ve done a rough calculation. Besides the grant from the National Natural Science Foundation’s major project, we should be able to scheme our way into getting a whole laboratory building from the Jin Pharmaceutical Group, a full set of lab equipment, and the budget for researchers’ salaries and expenses.”

”As for the price, by then, you’ll have all the leverage. You can negotiate a trade-off of benefits based on your research progress.”

”Of course, in this entire collaboration, the Jin Pharmaceutical Group’s biggest investment will be you, personally!”

”Wu Ting, this is the blueprint I, your teacher, have drafted for your future project. You should think it over carefully.”

Wu Ting watched Shen Siyuan speak with such eloquence and was somewhat surprised by his teacher’s flexibility and genius.

’What is a research genius? It’s someone who is a masterful operator, with top-tier social skills, a top-tier network, and a top-tier ability to secure funding and resources.’

’This plan would completely solve the problem of how I could conduct research on such a massive project.’

’Shen Siyuan thinks all I can deliver are the first and second stages. But for me, if I really had that much money, a lab, equipment, and personnel...’

’...I’d be able to truly carry out all four final stages.’

’And once my radical cure for Hepatitis B-related primary cancer is actually complete, you could say that the Jin Pharmaceutical Group will be the ones getting the better end of the deal.’

’When that time comes, I’ll have to give Teacher Shen a huge surprise!’

’But, I’m not in a hurry. For now, I just need to follow my teacher’s plan and proceed with the first and second stages.’

”Understood. Thank you for your guidance, Teacher.”

”I’ll start submitting the paper for the second stage in the next few days, as well as prepare the project proposal and literature review for the entire topic!”

After noting down Shen Siyuan’s ideas, Wu Ting rushed back to City First Hospital and began writing the project proposal and literature review.

With Wu Ting’s current mastery of the first and second stages, his general understanding of the third, and the newly acquired ”entry” for the fourth stage, he was able to reverse-engineer and write a very convincing outline for all four stages of the project’s initial proposal.

Of course, when it came to the formatting of the project proposal and the fine details of the literature review, Wu Ting didn’t need to handle it himself.

He had too many PhDs on his team at the research center. This time, even his go-to workhorse, Cheng Feng, wasn’t up to the task.

In the end, Wu Ting entrusted this glorious task to Dr. Yan Xi, who was also from Jinggang University Medical College.

After all, Dr. Yan was the most familiar with the project reporting procedures and formatting of the Jinggang University Medical School Graduate Department.

As Dr. Yan took Wu Ting’s draft to refine and polish it, she was completely stunned.

Looking at Wu Ting’s project topic, she felt as if she were looking at the work of a god.

Wu Ting’s project title was simply too domineering and impressive:

*A Systematic Therapeutic Regimen for the Radical Cure of Hepatitis B-Related Primary Cancer: A Study of Stages One, Two, Three, and Four*

’Is this really a thesis a master’s student should be proposing?’

’Even a top research team in the country probably wouldn’t dare to tackle a project like this, would they?’

However, Dr. Yan Xi still had great respect for Wu Ting, so she conscientiously began to flesh out the details according to his outline and high-level design.

While Dr. Yan began working on the project proposal, Wu Ting started writing his top-tier paper.

This time, his paper was intended for submission to *Cell*.

The journal *Cell* is universally recognized in the academic world as the premier journal in the life sciences. In the nearly 40 years since its founding in 1974, it has been renowned for its academic rigor, strict peer-review process, and focus on publishing original, highly systematic research papers of major significance.

The journals under the *Cell* Press umbrella have published a total of 59 papers by Nobel Prize laureates, 10 of which were the very papers for which the authors won their awards, including the winning papers for the 2004 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine and the Nobel Prize in Chemistry.

For such a top-tier journal, Wu Ting naturally had to write this paper with the utmost care.

’Of course, the core negative immune-regulatory mechanism within my radical cure for Hepatitis B-related primary liver cancer is more than enough to be published in this journal.’

On this point, Wu Ting was full of confidence!

Especially after witnessing the actual procedure on Li Ai, Wu Ting’s understanding of both the theory and practice behind this paper was top-notch.

He wrote with great flair, producing a ten-thousand-word paper that also integrated cutting-edge papers and journals from the field of immunology within the life sciences:

*A Study on the Negative Immune-Regulatory Mechanism of Single Immunoglobulin Interleukin-1 Receptor-Related Protein in the Radical Cure of Chronic Hepatitis B-Related Primary Liver Cancer*.

After finishing, Wu Ting called over the comparatively more senior Dr. Jin Yan to make some formatting changes and polish the paper.

When Jin Yan received Wu Ting’s paper, she had the same reaction as Dr. Yan Xi. Especially when she heard it was going to be submitted to *Cell*, her heart fluttered. ’This Wu Ting is really something else.’
