Doctor: I Can Synthesize Infinite Entries

Chapter 204: Chapter 183: Excited! Synthesis: Hepatitis B Cirrhosis Immunonegative Regulation Therapy (Black)

The directors present were all a little surprised by what Wu Ting said.

”A balloon dilation?”

Hearing Wu Ting’s idea, Director Fu’s eyes lit up. ”Dr. Wu, please elaborate.”

Director Ma was also curious and looked at the young man before him.

Zhang Heng shot Wu Ting a resentful look, but he also sat down to listen to the explanation.

Wu Ting went straight to the front of the room. He began drawing a surgical diagram on the whiteboard as he explained:

”The inspiration for this combined balloon dilation technique came from a paper by Director Shen Xiaofei.”

’Wu Ting had obtained Director Shen Xiaofei’s Gallstone Removal Technique (Purple), so strictly speaking, there was nothing wrong with this explanation.’

Everyone was rather impressed to hear that Wu Ting’s inspiration came from one of Director Shen Xiaofei’s papers.

For an ordinary doctor, simply reading domestic academic journals in their spare time was already remarkable. To be able to take the findings from a paper and flexibly apply them to a clinical procedure was even more extraordinary.

Director Huo, Director Qin, and Director Cai, who were familiar with Wu Ting, were also surprised. ’When did Wu Ting master EST and gallstone removal techniques so thoroughly?’

With everyone’s attention on him, Wu Ting began to explain his improved plan in detail:

”The initial phase of the procedure is the same as an EST—using contrast imaging to observe the location, size, and number of stones. After that, there’s a key difference. Based on the planned degree of dilation for the common bile duct, we select an appropriately sized balloon, insert it along the guidewire, and ensure one-third of the balloon is outside the papilla. Then, we inject the contrast agent into the balloon and maintain pressure for three minutes...”

Wu Ting’s hand-drawing skills were astounding, and his understanding of the common bile duct’s anatomy was at a master’s level. The resulting diagram looked like an illustration from a standard textbook.

The directors nodded repeatedly as they watched.

Director Fu’s eyes, in particular, lit up. Wu Ting’s plan perfectly addressed the two problems and risks he had raised.

”Brilliant.”

”Using a balloon for dilation helps maintain the integrity of the papillary sphincter, which reduces trauma and promotes postoperative recovery...”

”Most critically, the balloon dilation increases the operational space, which helps improve the success rate of removing all stones in one go...”

”Furthermore, using this non-invasive method helps prevent the stress response caused by surgical trauma. For a patient in this condition, it would drastically reduce postoperative complications and accelerate recovery time!”

”Ingenious!”

Director Fu’s understanding of EST was among the best in the country. After seeing Wu Ting’s plan, he was so impressed he could have slammed the table in astonishment.

”Dr. Wu, this plan of yours is absolutely brilliant.”

”This isn’t just for this one surgery. This Surgical Technique, Endoscopic Minor Sphincterotomy of the Duodenal Papilla Combined with Balloon Dilation, could be widely promoted in clinical practice.”

”It’s undoubtedly an improved Surgical Technique with major clinical significance!”

Director Fu gave Wu Ting’s proposed improvement the highest of praise.

Director Ma, beside him, shared the same opinion:

”Indeed, Dr. Wu’s modified Surgical Technique could become an entirely new method for gallstone removal, one that could be compared to EST!”

Hearing the two directors’ assessments, everyone was utterly shocked.

’A brand new Surgical Technique on par with EST!’

Huo Yun’s eyes were practically glowing. He looked at Wu Ting as if he were a priceless treasure.

He had endured immense pressure and spent a small fortune to recruit Associate Director Zhang Heng, all for the sake of introducing new surgical techniques, launching more research projects, and enhancing the overall capabilities of the Laparoscopic Diagnosis and Treatment Technology Research Center.

He never expected that before Zhang Heng had even gotten his EST procedures off the ground, Wu Ting would give him yet another surprise.

It wasn’t just about performing an EST; Wu Ting had gone and pioneered an improved Surgical Technique. This was undoubtedly another top-tier research project, another paper for a top journal.

Huo Yun suddenly realized that the Emergency Department’s designation as a key specialty for laparoscopic diagnosis and treatment technology was no longer a distant dream.

”Well done, Wu Ting!”

An achievement like a new Surgical Technique pioneered by his own team was fundamentally different from the results brought in by recruiting Zhang Heng.

Huo Yun was absolutely ecstatic. The City First Hospital team had come to this consultation expecting to be on the sidelines, just there to observe and learn. In front of Director Ma and Director Fu, they were the least important people in the room and could barely get a word in. He never imagined that Wu Ting would step up and propose an improved Surgical Technique.

The City First Hospital team had suddenly become the center of attention at the consultation, shining brilliantly.

Zhang Heng studied Wu Ting’s surgical plan carefully and had to admit he was impressed.

”Dr. Wu, you truly are impressive.”

Zhang Heng had only been feigning politeness when he asked Wu Ting for his opinion. Who would have thought he’d come back with a completely new and improved Surgical Technique?

’Well, so much for that. I was hoping to show off a bit, but Wu Ting just completely stole the show.’

Watching Wu Ting command the room, Zhang Heng suddenly felt a pang of bitterness and envy.

With Wu Ting’s plan on the table, Director Ma and Director Fu discussed it for a moment before deciding on the spot to adopt this brand-new, improved Surgical Technique.

The consultation ended, and they immediately began preoperative preparations.

[Congratulations to the Host for completing a consultation with Director Ma, Director Fu, Director Zhang, and others for a patient with liver cirrhosis and common bile duct stones. You proposed an improved plan that stunned the room. Obtained Entry from Director Fu: Traditional Treatment Theory of Hepatitis B Cirrhosis (Purple), representing Director Fu’s years of theoretical knowledge in treating Hepatitis B cirrhosis.]

[Obtained Entry from Director Ma: Head of Hepatic Tumor Surgery (Purple). A department head is an expert with an extremely high level of academic achievement in a specific field, capable of leading, guiding, and organizing personnel to conduct academic research and achieve results in that discipline.]

[Director Ma is a legendary figure at the Jin Province Tumor Hospital. He single-handedly established the Hepatic Tumor Surgery department out of the existing hepatobiliary surgery department, building it from the ground up. This entry contains the experience and management skills required to establish a department. With this ability from Director Ma, you can now attempt to establish a Hepatic Tumor Surgery department at City First Hospital.]

Looking at these new entries, Wu Ting was overjoyed.

He wasn’t too excited about Director Ma’s Head of Hepatic Tumor Surgery (Purple). What made Wu Ting truly ecstatic was finally obtaining the Traditional Treatment Theory of Hepatitis B Cirrhosis (Purple).

[Synthesize Entries: Immunomodulation Theory (Purple) + Traditional Treatment Theory of Hepatitis B Cirrhosis (Purple) + Single Immunoglobulin Interleukin-1 Receptor Related Protein Theory (Purple) = Negative Immune Regulation Therapy for Hepatitis B Cirrhosis (Black), Radical Treatment for Primary Hepatitis B Cancer: Tier 2?]

Of course, Wu Ting chose to synthesize without a moment’s hesitation.

[Congratulations to the Host for synthesizing the Entry: Negative Immune Regulation Therapy for Hepatitis B Cirrhosis (Black), Radical Treatment for Primary Hepatitis B Cancer: Tier 2!]

With this entry, Wu Ting finally had a truly groundbreaking therapy in the field of radical treatment for primary Hepatitis B-related liver cancer.

This Tier 2 radical treatment would allow for a combination of surgical resection and immunotherapy for patients in the pre-cancerous to mid-stages of primary Hepatitis B-related cancer, achieving a true, radical cure!

This was a monumental achievement.

Without a doubt, this therapy would cause a sensation in the academic world.

’This is the perfect opportunity. I can use Professor Shen Siyuan’s background and connections to begin writing the paper and conducting clinical trials for this therapy as part of my master’s thesis.’

’Looks like I can start drafting the paper’s outline the next time I visit Teacher Shen at Jinggang University.’

’As for whether to conduct the clinical trials for this project at City First Hospital or Jinggang University Affiliated First Hospital, I’ll have to wait and see.’

While Wu Ting was contemplating his next steps, Director Ma and Director Fu had already arranged the surgery.

Since this was the first time Zhang Heng had heard of Wu Ting’s surgical concept, he didn’t dare to rashly take the lead as chief surgeon.

In the end, it was decided that the more experienced Director Fu, who was familiar with Director Shen Xiaofei’s gallstone removal technique, would be the chief surgeon. Wu Ting was invited to be the first assistant, and Zhang Heng was made the second assistant.

Wu Ting was, of course, delighted by Director Fu’s high esteem.

Zhang Heng was a little dejected, but it was still an honor to participate in the surgery.

After all, this was a landmark surgery!

Once all the arrangements were in place, the surgery officially began.

In the operating room, Wu Ting assisted Director Fu with the puncture for the Seldinger Technique. Wu Ting’s skill was already superior to Zhang Heng’s; his technique was as smooth as flowing water, and he completed the puncture flawlessly in a single attempt.

Watching Wu Ting operate, Guo Guoguo was thoroughly impressed. ’Dr. Wu is truly amazing,’ she thought.

Zhang Heng watched intently from the side, feeling that he couldn’t compare.

As for the doctors from City First Hospital in the observation room, the whole scene felt even more surreal.

”So Dr. Wu’s EST skills are this incredible. He’s on par with any of the outside experts.”

Qin Donglai and Huo Yun exchanged a look, their eyes filled with utter shock.

However, the more brilliantly Wu Ting performed, the more prestige it brought to City First Hospital.

After flawlessly completing his support role, Wu Ting handed the primary operator’s position over to Director Fu.

Director Fu’s profound skill was evident. He had grasped the core principle after hearing Wu Ting’s plan just once. Thanks to his solid fundamental skills and Wu Ting’s assistance, the entire surgery went very smoothly.

Thanks to Wu Ting’s innovative concept, Director Fu easily succeeded in removing all the stones in one go, despite their large diameter.

Removing the stones in a single pass meant fewer manipulations and less trauma, which was critical for the patient’s prognosis.

With Director Fu and Wu Ting working together, the entire surgery was completed in record time!

”...Director Zhang, you handle the closing. Place the nasobiliary drain in the patient...”

”Drain the bile for two to three days...”

After giving a few instructions, Wu Ting and Director Fu were the first to leave the operating room.

Left with the remaining grunt work, Zhang Heng could only diligently complete the procedure. It was the first time since his internship that he had been relegated to the job of a second assistant.

SIGH.

Zhang Heng heaved a long sigh. ’I’ve got to keep a wide berth from Wu Ting in the future. The guy is simply unfathomable!’

Still, he had to admit he’d come out ahead by getting to learn this new, improved Surgical Technique.

As Zhang Heng watched the carefree figures of Wu Ting and Director Fu receding, a sudden thought struck him with a jolt. ’Could it be that Director Fu and Wu Ting planned this all along?’

’Wu Ting learned his techniques during his fellowship at Haijin Port. Were the two of them putting on an act for my benefit?’

’And here I thought I had everything under control. Turns out, I, Zhang Heng, was the clown all along!’

Once Wu Ting and Director Fu left the operating room, no one paid any more attention to Zhang Heng, who remained behind.

Everyone was waiting for the two of them to return to the conference room for a postoperative discussion.

Director Ma was also preparing to conduct an inspection of the Laparoscopic Diagnosis and Treatment Technology Research Center at Fan City First Hospital.
